I got Press Passes to go and see Land of the Dead Wednesday.   He's trying to get passes to War of the Worlds this week, but I'm unsure of what date.

I want to see Bewitched and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

But seriously, it's the summer of remakes:  Bewitched, CatCF, Fantastic Four, Dukes of Hazard (which I also kind of want to see), etc, etc.

So is it a remake or a sequel?

Land of the Dead is a sequel. It's the follow up to Night of the Living Dead,  Dawn of the Dead (the original not the remake) and Day of the Dead I believe.

I've seen none of those movies but I've seen the Thriller video a few dozen times.  Does that count for anything?

I actually saw Land of the Dead Tuesday at 12:30 am.  It was...passable.  It wasn't like any of Romero's previous works in a bad way.  It was very short, only 90 minutes, there was a horrible lack of characterization and character back story--it was just all too lame.  Heck, there wasn't any reason as to why the zombie's in the middle of nowhere suddenly become "smart".  Day of the Dead atleast explained that they could be taught...  As for the social undertones, it wasn't anything that Day of the Dead already covered...  The worst part of the film is the lack of Tom Savini's special effects...whoever Romero got to do his zombies for this film deserves a serious kick in the balls.  Savini does make a cameo in the film though...  Anyway, go see it if you're curious, but be prepared to be let down.

I get to go see War of the Worlds Monday night.  I'll let you know how it is.  In the mean time, avoid High Tension like the fucking plague.  Worst film I've seen in a long time.

I haven't see any of those.  So far the worse film ever in my book is Vanilla Sky.  That was truly a piece of shit.

Madagascar had a BAD plot, BAD dialogue, BAD devices, BAD villians.  And by bad, I do not mean good.  At all.  The penguins were funny (not much else), and the lemurs are cute, especially the one they keep suggesting as feed to ward off predators.

They have their moments.

My big nemises seems to be Gemini.  I've never met a Gemini I haven't wanted to slap some sense into sooner or later.

Merla's a Libra and our mom is a Gemini, and I've wanted to slap her sometimes, too.  Because to her, people having a bunch of kids they can't afford and aren't qualified to take care of isn't irresponsible or selfish, it's "living life".  Teh fuck?

If anyone remembers that SSJTrunks guy that used to come here, his wacko ass was a Cancer, too.

I wish Tom Cruise would shut-up and go back to simply looking good.  Now he's as annoying as Madonna and Kabalah.  Nobody cares about your stinkin' religion, dammit.

Scientology is made for rich people.
