And there was illness at both home and work so I don't know who gave me what but I feel like shit. Yesterday I slept 10 hours and the day before I slept 12 hours. I wish sick people weren't allowed at work. It's fucking gross. I've had to go in anyway because I'm in training and you can't call in and miss shit. And I swear, every time Schmoo gets sick, she still wanders around the house and touches everything without being careful and sanitizing surfaces. :guitar: So far, Merla seems to be spared and I hope she stays that way.

I probably couldn't sleep without some amount of Vicks jammed up my nose at night.
But no, I didn't catch it this year. And I didn't even take the shot for it this year. Since I don't work directly for the hospital anymore (my dept was contracted out in August, and I was hired by the new company to keep doing the same work there), I no longer have to get the immunization. Which is nice, because in the past four years I've got it I felt like crap for two days thereafter. And I've only had the flu once, and it wasn't even a severe case, and that was fifteen years ago.

I didn't get the shot for it and I usually don't. Seems like it doesn't matter. The strain evolves or is different or whatever anyway. Schmoo got sick shortly after she got the shot and she insists it was the shot that did it, however, she hangs around company that could be... cleaner. She also likes to go to thrift stores and I consider the ones she goes to to be germ dens.

I'm fine. I got the flu shot...which made me woozy and sick feeling the day of, but passed after that.

I thought I was out of the woods but the training room at work is like the town in fucking Outbreak. People calling in like nuts, looking half-dead, coughing, sneezing, hacking, and whatnot. People who were already sick actually got re-sick. I've already posted it, but I'll post it again: sick people should not be allowed at work. Also, my new employer is a fucking huge company. They need to better ventilate the air in their buildings, make it colder like hospitals do, and they need a fucking nurse to come in, diagnose people as too sick to be around others, and send their sniffly asses home. It'll cost them less to be without some mucas-faced pricks so that the rest of us don't catch that shit.

The infection control nurse at my facility was telling me that the trends show what looks like a potentially big upswing in flu cases in our area. Of course, she was still pushing flu shots, which I'm still rejecting.

I used to have a cold at least once every other week, and non stop sneezing all the time, but then I started drinking orange juice and taking some of those vitamin c fizzies tablets and now I never get a cold. Its amazing actually, I didnt think it will help.
Hibiscus tea is good too.

When that second round of illness went around, I started taking a lot of Emergen-C: this powdery vitamin c shit you stick in some water, probably like those fizzies. Just a wee bit sniffly but never got sick. 'cept now something looks like it's making the rounds again. Yuck.

Yes! take that again (the one here is called Berocca, they tell you to take one once a day but I took it twice a day for a week, to kickstart it), and then drink more orange juice/ hibiscus tea or anything with vit-c and youll see how you feel better. 8)

Ok this fucking shit...I thought I was out of it. I mean it was like April, I should be fine. But hell no. I caught some kind of super spring flu and not only did it kick my ass, but I got a cough that I've had for like 2 months now...going into the 3rd. I mean it is getting better, but I'm still hacking at least once an hour, and especially at work. Which has gone over well. People love it when you hack up a lung and then hand them stuff. Oh and I lost my voice too, which hasn't happened in years. So fuck that shot, it didn't do me any good.
