Title: Ok, ok, I know this is wrong of me.
Post by: B E C K on Jul 04, 2016, 03:43:19 AM
I genuinely want to know which Harry Potter movie the guy who died in the Tesla crash was watching.  Because if it was anything past Goblet of Fire, he died for nothing.

This immediately reminded me of the guy who crashed his car while a woman who was not his wife was stimulating him orally. I believe they both died.

The comments on the article were understandably full of sarcasm and mockery, but also people claiming to have known the individual, saying that he was a good man and that he lived for his kids.

I came so close to responding that it sounded to me like he lived and died for blow jobs.

Didn't do it, though.

But, really, he did.  You can still be a good man and live and die for blow jobs.  I was reminded of that story I remember hearing about where the car crashes or got hit and the woman bites off the man's penis.  :joe:

That sounds improbable. Presumably the dick is hard. Try to imagine biting through an erect penis. Unless the impact compressed her jaw or something?

Man, I don't know. Is biting boners off a thing? You'd think cocksucking in prison would pretty much never happen, in that case.

I had tried to see if I could find a source before I posted and came across a Snopes article that questioned the veracity of the whole thing.  I'd link the page but I'd rather not google that shit a second time.  :-[

Back to what you actually posted about, I just can't imagine ever being comfortable riding in an automated vehicle. It's exceedingly lucky he was the only fatality. Every car on the road is a potential death wagon, I'll take human error over computer error any day of the week.

Yes, good idea.  Let's steer away from the penis biting.  Ho ho.  Get it?  Steer.  It's a pun.  Because cars.  lol lol  But yeah, I wouldn't either.  I would just imagine a self-driving car as being designed by a person I wouldn't ride in a car with anyway.  Maybe in a couple of generations more people will be cool with it.  But I don't see the point anyway.  I'd rather we invest in awesome public transportation.  Like cool, sexy techno trains with comfy seats, free wifi, a coffee bar, and running on clean energy.  Or Jetson buses.  And you're right: fucker could've killed someone.  He could've run into a jam-packed Honda Fit and killed a family.  He could've plowed into a motorcyclist or a bicyclist or a pedestrian.  He could've hit an adorable kitty-cat.  Can't your ass wait to watch Harry Potter until you get home?  He had probably already seen it anyway.

I'd be cool with a train, because where the fuck is it going to go, right? Although I think they usually stick an engineer in there anyway, just in case. I've heard sleeping on the job is not uncommon.

I like to think he was so shocked when Tom Riddle revealed himself as Lord Voldermort.....I mean He Who Shall Not be Named....that he wrecked the car just from the spit take.

Ok...maybe he was so upset that Ron and Hermonie weren't just gonna get into each other pants and instead were playing games with each other in Goblet of Fire that he put himself into a tree because he couldn't take it anymore.

Yeah, well she made Harry an Auror at the end of the last book, instead of the Defense Against the Dark Arts Teacher and eventual Headmaster of Hogwarts. So I don't completely trust J.K.'s judgement.

Have you guys read that HP play they released as a book recently? I haven't, but I skimmed a plot synopsis and it seems like a bunch of fanfic-y garbage that involves a lot of Back to the Future-esque time travel shenanigans.

I'm of the mind all things Potter should have remained buried. Definitely not looking forward to that Eddie Redmayne vehicle in the fall.

I'm done with Harry Potter so, no, I haven't.  The last four movies were so progressively disappointing that I consider Goblet of Fire to be the end.  Everything post-Goblet was increasingly fanficy.  I don't hate Rowling or nothing and I'll always enjoy Potters 1-4, but I've got so many issues with her.  I ain't touching anything Potter again short of an awesome-looking animated series that retells the stories and fixes the delivery the (later) screen adaptations went with.

Yeah, that's such balls.  Given the grief with DoDA teachers throughout so much of the story, it was totally telegraphing Harry would grow up to be a Defense of the Dark Arts teacher.  It even sequelizes nicely.  He could go on adventures with students Miss Frizzle-style.  Ron = Auror.  Harry = DoDA, Hermione = ??  I don't know about this Minister of Magic business.  I see her wanting a more unassuming life albeit while still conducting important work somehow.  Like some sort of advocate.

I'm really, really surprised there hasn't been a Potter anime yet. Like, seriously. They could milk that shit forever. Just picture Harry and Voldemort powering up for five episodes while Ron and Hermione rush to collect the final Dragon Ball Horcrux.

Yeah, I'm with you.  Merla's wanted one for the past fifteen years, I swear.

What happened to them after the end of the books is akin to what a fan fic writer would put down. Like they went on to even bigger and better things, but defeating Voldemort is the best they'll ever do. These kids peaked in High School. You don't do anything bigger then defeating the Wizarding World's Anti-Christ. I mean can you imagine how much the Auror budget would get slashed with no deatheaters wandering around anymore? The only person that made the least bit of sense given what she set up in the books was Neville Longbottom. Harry and Hermonie could have been teachers at Hogwarts and Ron should have taken over his dads job at the MOM. And let's not get started on Ginny being a professional Quiditch player.

I don't know if I would want both Harry and Hermione to be teachers.  Hermione didn't really seem to be the teacher-type to me.  Always thirsty for knowledge and I could see her doing something that constantly fed into that.  Instead of ending up with Ron, she has a muggle professor or someone she can have witty banter with.  Harry's still single at the end of the book.  Ginny... I wish she died tbh.  I'd rather she had died instead of the Weasley twin.
