Title: Dragon Ball news!
Post by: Faye Valentine on May 15, 2015, 02:34:13 AM
So first of, they are going to make a new Dragon Ball with , yes, Akira Toriyama working in the story! so we can all just keep pretending GT never happened!
(too lazy to search for the link)

Second, have y'all seen Dragon Ball: Light of Hope? fan video but its really freaking good (unlike the hollywood one)
spfreload=10

I have to confess I had completely forgotten about that time in the anime, I was wondering why my darling Vegeta wasn't in the video so I had to dig around a bit to find the reason

Is it going to be yet another Rinse and Repeater? Of course it will be...wouldn't be Dragon Ball if it wasn't.

I'm just waiting for someone to put the new Freeza movie online so I can watch roided-out spiky-haired alien half-breeds grunt so hard they glow effusively for forty-five minutes in high definition.

In theaters, but not home video. Once that happens...the spice must flow.

I've been watching some Dragon Ball movies on youtube lately, they never aired those over here just the series. I forgot how stupid yet strangely addictive Dragonball was

I can't bring myself to chell out any of the new stuff. It would only serve to diminish my already tainted memories of DBZ bliss.

Saiyan Saga was best. I always despised Frieza, and those God awful Namek landscapes are horrendous to behold. Cell and Buu both had their moments, no doubt, but the bloat had already set in and there was no turning back.

I clearly remember when I first watched DBZ last century or whatever and they finally got to Namek, I was all "jeez, this planet looks gross.  I hope we're not here for long."  How little I knew.

I kind of skimmed it, then dismissed it. I can't go back. I can never go back.

Kotaku's Patricia Hernandez seems pretty enthusiastic (http://kotaku.com/the-five-best-moments-in-dragon-ball-supers-first-episo-1716003804) though.

I can’t believe this is true, but: Dragon Ball is back, and it’s better than ever.

She opens with this statement. Goodbye, credibility.

I hate the art. It's ugly. This is 2015, damn it. Up your game, for Christ's sake. The anime industry is in such a sorry state, honestly.

Harrumph, etc.

Dude it looks exactly the same as it looked when it first came out, except the colours are obviously more vibrant

I get my DBZ these days from the Abridged (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6EC7B047181AD013) series. It's slow as hell but usually worth it.

I'll chell out an ep or two of new DB once I get back home.  From the screenshots I saw, it doesn't look radically different except for being more vibrant like Faye-Faye said.  There do appear to be some inconsistencies (like some of the character's heights) but the fact that there are inconsistencies is actually a consistency of DB so meh.  Upcoming ep seems like it'll be fun.
