Title: Yeah, sure, Windows 8.
Post by: B E C K on Apr 16, 2013, 06:58:01 PM
Microsoft's Windows 8 Plan B(lue): Bring back the Start button, boot to desktop (http://www.zdnet.com/microsofts-windows-8-plan-blue-bring-back-the-start-button-boot-to-desktop-7000014075/).  I really don't get why it left in the first place.   :-\

I played around with a Laptop at Best Buy that had Windows 8 on it and decided I wasn't going to upgrade to that.

I really wanted a new computer, too, but 8 looks so gross.  Merla's computer conked out on her and she had to buy a replacement, so I got to try Windows 8 out since she needed me to install the printer.  Yuck.  What a fuckin' mess.

I'd try a Mac if they weren't hideously over-priced.

Windows 7 works just fine for me.

The computer I got my mom has 7 on it and the first thing I noticed was how nice it was that CTRL-ALT-DEL actually does something on her's.  Where as my laptop with Vista has always been all "yeah, yeah, I'll get to it as soon as I'm done processing this non-functional process."

They seriously calling it Windows Blue?  Sounded like a "Blue Screen of Death" joke at first.

I thought Windows Blue was an in-house dev name only. Whatevs.

Windows 8 is wrecking PC hardware market, says analysts, because, and I quote, "Ain't nobody want that shit."

Source: Fucking innernerts.

I hear Windows 8 is a perfectly good system when you figure out how to put the start menu and desktop back to normal, no thanks to Microsoft. But I don't want a fucking touch screen tablet for my desktop: I want a computer. I removed the Win7/8 dual boot *real* quick on my HTPC. Ain't nobody got time fo' dat!

You still have to go through Metro until the get an update that lets you start in classic.

Having to use Win 8 on library computers makes me want to put my fist through the screen.

My ultra bad-ass new computer, once assembled, will run some form of Windows 8...once I start I'm sure I'll modify it to my liking.
