Title: Would you eat...
Post by: joe on Jan 15, 2013, 08:10:03 PM
...horseflesh? You know, like if you were at someone's house and they offered you a horse meat burger, or a horse steak, or whatever.

Would you, could you, eat a horse?

Of course!

No, not really.  I rarely touch chicken these days, let alone beef and pork.  I'm not looking for more animals to eat.

No.

If I still ate meat, yeah, I probably would.

Yeah...I'd at least try it.

I have ruled mammals out of my diets so that I don't seem like a hypocrite when I say no to things like this.

So no...

Depends on how they fix it.

I will it eat it here or there.  Joe, I will eat it anywhere.

If that IS your real name.

But of course it isn't, because the internet is built on lies.

Haha! Britain's "Horsegate" scandal is what inspired this thread in the first place. At first I was horrified, but after some consideration, I began to question if it was really that big a deal.

To my knowledge I've never eaten horse, but I would do so in a pinch. Same goes for dog and cat.

Meat is nutrition.

Of course, I'd like to think I'd draw the line at cannibalism.

I'd eat Horse to see what it tastes like...Cat and Dog...it would only be if I was starving. Course I'd eat a lot if I was starving.

As a regular customer of my local Chinese takeout joint I've probably unknowingly eaten every animal known to man at this point

Why not? If prepared correctly, it's not really that unhealthy. Just don't eat the brains or the marrow, or you might get Prion disease.

Cats and dogs are a very inneficient way to eat meat because they are themselves carnivores.  To farm an animal who's food need to be farmed as well is wasteful.  It's wasteful enough that most animals eat crops that could instead be resources made to feed people in the first place, but that's a whole other level.

Also they're way too small to be efficient.  Cows are the ultimately because the deaths per lb. of food they make is pretty low.  It's high for chickens but I don't really give a shit about chickens because  they're pretty basic.

I've (somewhat illegally) eaten kangaroo when I was in Australia.
It's not that great, even crocodile tastes better.

Emu is pretty tasty tho

That is the most aloof 'roo I've ever seen.

That said, I've not seen very many of them. The most I've ever seen at once was in Crocodile Dundee, where one of 'em shot up a bunch of poacher buttholes, and that was pretty badass even if the thing was already dead at the time.

At this point I think it might be a time saver for Rumble to just tell us what he hasn't eaten.

Is "somewhat illegally" like being "a little pregnant"?

How come I didnt see this comment before?
Anyways whale is good stuff. Theres a restaurant in Shibuya that serves whale, for """research""" and has a kaiseki menu that serves you different plates with different parts of the animal. Best part was the tongue imo

I can bring you boar from here if you want bb

I can shoot boar on the back forty. Damn wild hogs, they're all over the place. My next-door neighbors hunt them with dogs and spear (only because they don't want to shoot in amongst the dogs).

Good eating, though.

Are Dogs in season? If so, I'm sure it's fine.

Depends on how hungry you are.
