Nothing makes you feel important like a happy birthday 10 days too late.

That must mean Max Con's the fuckin' president.

Also, not ten days late.  Because I was on-time on FB.

I don't have a guilty bone in my body.  As long as you don't count arms and legs.

You have in dog years.

Especially compared to your dog, who's probably old enough to die at moment now and had never seen you change. We probably seem eternal to a dog. Plus, dogs are more accident prone...I've only heard one example of a guy getting run over while pissing on car tires (he survived), but a lot of dogs are done in this way.

I have a fish, poor sucker only has like a year left, top (he's a betta and I heard they only live a couple of years).]
Which reminds me a story I read last week, somewhere. This guy used to have a fish when he was little and he was always so surprised because supposedly his awesome fish used to change colours magically once in a while. He realised when he was much older what actually happened

I get why parents do things like that but I'd be pissed off if that happened to me.

My parents weren't able to switch out bologna without me noticing.  They wouldn't be able to pull off switching animals.

Bettas average 2-3 in captivity but can live up to 10 years if well cared for.

Intredasting
Well I guess my boy has 2 more years to go then. I also didn't know they come from the rice fields of this area. No wonder he was like 5 cents

I had my Beta Yugi for about three years and then kept his body in my freezer for another three years.

Intentionally?

Was this when you were working at LJS? Worried you might need to bring him in if stock ran out?

I wanted to bury him but not in a house we were going to be leaving.  I knew we were leaving our old house and then the next house we moved into was temporary.  Once we moved into the house I'm in now, I buried him.

Well, that certainly seems more reasonable.

I thought the traditional fish burial was by toilet. That way you could have made him sleep with the...other fishes.
