THIS IS WHY I LOVE BERNIE!

In response to recently approved House legislation increasing FCC indecency fines for broadcast television and radio, Rep. Bernie Sanders, (I-VT) announced the introduction of legislation last week to prevent the government from censoring content on cable television shows and Internet Web sites.
"There is a growing culture of censorship in this country that needs to be ended," said Sanders. "First they went after broadcast television and radio and now they want to censor cable, satellite and the Internet. The bottom line is that government commissars should not be the arbiters of what Americans see and hear, especially over cable, satellite and the Internet -- all of which people have to pay for in order to receive."
Sanders' legislation seeks to clarify that the FCC’s powet to regulate indecency applies only to material broadcast over public airwaves and would forbid application of the regulations to cable, satellite, the Internet or other mediums that are selected and paid for by consumers.
"We don't need the FCC bleeping Tony Soprano or Jon Stewart," added Sanders. "Allowing the FCC to regulate these venues would, in affect, permit the government to control what content people can purchase. That offends basic American principles of freedom and liberty that are the foundation of our democracy."

Damn straight. TV's washed out enough as it is.

Wish he was here. Our IMAX theatres have refused to show a movie about volcanoes because it mentions evolution. Burqa fashion show, anyone?
-
Oh my Lordly! Humans evolved from Monkeys?! Blasphemy! How dare those liberal scum spread such lies?
Geez, these conservative freaks need to get an education, preferably in genetics, and comparative anatomy. <_<
I don't know about anyone else but I am up for a Burqa fashion show.

the worst thing they could have ever done(regarding censorship) is censoring sex and the city! :(:(
