THEY REMOVED THE ONLY MODERN ROCK STATION FOR SOME SHITTY ASS HISPANIC RAP SHIT WHEN EVERY GODDAMN STATION IN MIAMI IS EITHER RAP OR LATIN.
>.<
It's really amazing to think that a market as big as Miami does not have a Rock station, but times are changing. Two years ago nobody would have thought Clear Channel would be blowing up rock stations for some underground Puerto Rican sound called "reggeatón"...but here we are!

To those who care. This is warning to others in Clear Channel Markets. First they ditched Stern, and yesterday @ like 5pm they fired an entire radio station.
Assholes. FUCK RADIO, Im gonna get Sirius.
-
Miami is gay. I'm a bit hopeful because a long time rap/hip hop/general crap station here, 102.7 KTFM, got eaten up by rock and roll a couple of years back. I listen to classic rock and public radio anyway. Not that I think it couldn't happen to any of those stations. I'm certain my arch nemesis, 98.5 The Beat, has some devious plans up its ass-sleeve.
-
Miami sucks.
-
Unless you're a Latin rap junkie.
-
Yeah, but Im white and secure in myself, so no.

Nothing wrong with Latins listening to Rock and/or Roll.
-
Rock stations are top in their spots in mostly latin cities, not to mention that a majority of the latins in Miami are now Americanized. Plus Zeta wasn't doing at all bad in Miami, i had a solid placement among 18-35 yo males in this city, with a growing female audience thanks to bands like Evanescense and Incubus.
Now all I have left is Big 106, but then I like Zeppelin better anyways...
-
Heh, even in Maryland they've started coverting radio stations over to Spanish... I'd care if I listened to the radio.
-
Clear Channel is a evil monopoly just like Microsoft, Comcast.... and others.
Of course the government will do nothing as congressmen are in the pockets of these evil companies.
I know what I'll blow up first when the revolution comes :D
-
Why wait.
-
Timothy McVeigh didn't and look where it got him.
-
Even though I would definitely prefer Latino "rap" station to the typical modern "rock" station. This still sucks.
I deem it thus.
-
Dert has a point. Evanescense? :x
-
Wh-what?!
-
I like the Hot Boys.
-
Wh-what?!
Nothing against the group, I just find the voice of the chick that fronts them annoying.
-
No, I hate Evanesence with a passion, I'm just curious where they came into the thread.
-
Spotted Tom mentioned them in his fourth or so post in this thread.
-
The video for their first big single was hilarious.

CC did an idiotic "Save the Buzz" campaign a few years back claiming that their pseudo-alternative station was changing the format and only the listeners could save it - big call-in/e-mail campaign. Suspicious, I googled around and sho' nuff found a mention in the Houston Business Journal from 2 months earlier talking about the station changing places on the dial with another CC station, which is exactly what happened, under the guise of the "faithful listeners SAVING the station".
Funny, they never did print my e-mail on the station website asking about it. Houston Press did, though, which started a bit of a stink. I love being a bitch
-
Yet oddly, you're the nicest person here.
I wonder if Nuri enjoys occasionally being friendly on the level that you enjoy changing your behavior like that.
-
Aww, thanks.
Some things really get my back up, and deceptive marketing is on that list. Especially when it's not even particularly clever.
-
It could be worse: it could be yet another country station.

You are so awesome.

I think I found another station, but then Im not sure. Miami just sucks. Florida and Texas should return to the sea along with the midwest.
-
Hey, don't take me with you because your wang of a state sucks.
-
You gave us Bush. (Too bad not the good kind)
Nuff said.
-
People goto Florida to die. That says something.
-
George Herbert & Barb gave us Bush after a drunken Yale reunion and whelped him in Kennebunkport, ME. Texas had nothing to do with it. <_< We attract sleazy old business people because we have no state taxes and the weather is kind to their calcifying joints.
And thank you, Nuri. I keep in mind that with great bitchiness comes great responsibility. :P
-
WHOO!!! One of the 34 million dance stations switched to a true rock format! So far I love all the songs they've played!
-
The listeners have saved it again!
-
I think it was more of capitalism, but eh, fuck party music.
