You're probably thinking of Chris "Constipation" Sabat.  Drummond did the first and early part of the second season of DBZ.  Drummond's a fat Artie Lang-looking guy, while Sabat looks like a balder David Cross.

HE's ARTIE LANG?!!! I fucking love Artie Lang on the Howard Stern show! I wonder why he never talks about his voice over work?

AND?  You kinky bitch!

Poor Brian's site got deleted with the rest of my stuff.  :(  I'll get it back up, but... eh, you guys know how I am with stuff like that.

I think they might've stopped the Monster Rancher DVDs at an early number.  The stuff near the end was awesome.  (Although I'm not even sure that was technically the end of the show.)  That poor show got jacked.

The ending was downright depressing.   :(  Like I'd want to come back "home" if I was Genki.

I was half-expecting him to go "man, this shite is whack!"  But I could've sworn there was another season where he returns.  Not that it necessarily aired over here though...

You mean our ending where there's a big battle and Genki goes home or the Japanese ending I have no knowledge of?  Genki goes back to the monster world but what occurs there I don't know.

I liked the blue one with the short dark hair.  I forgot what her name was.  Too bad what's-his-face grabbed her by the foot when that ship was exploding and killed her...

I stuck "Monster Rancher blue pixie" in Google and scanned through the results until I found a familiar name.  Then I went over to TVTome to confirm it through the episode summaries.

http://www.tvtome.com/MonsterRancher/eplist.html (http://www.tvtome.com/MonsterRancher/eplist.html)

That's a lot of missed episodes.  It wouldn't have hurt them to air all of that.

They're were three fucking seasons! shit, I thought only two!  Fuck I missed a lot.  FUCK!!

Yeah, and the tail end of the last season aired like once (at least as far as non cable television is concerned).  I recorded what I could of it and I remember being so pissed when I missed an episode only to have it never come out again.

Mocchi, Suezo, Tiger, Golem and Hare turn into the Phoenix and beat Moo. Genki is then transported into the real world. This part is sad because it's raining and he misses them. He puts on his trademark skates and goes around town looking for them until he finds some boxes and junk in an alley that looks like them, he smiles and then it ends.

Pile o' crap.  I was so pissed off I didn't even keep that episode.   Fuck that "the REAL world is always BETTER" pontification in my escapism.

Interesting story here, Pokemon started out on US TV ( at least in my area ) as being on channel 21, which hardly anyone watches for anything.  All the kids watch 33 (WB, previously Fox).  It then moved to 27, and I believe 27 also played Monster Rancher, at a better time no less.  Then WB gets Pokemon, and everyon's all ga-ga.  I had been watching it when no fucking body knew who it was.

I kick ass.

The same thing happened to me.  I watched Pokemon at 6:30 in the morning.  Then it got a much better slot and finally took off.  And then I got bored with it.  Monster Rancher had a fairly decent morning slot but then got moved to a gay 2:30 slot where it eventually curled up and died.

It also apparently knew to end.  Pokemon is driving me insane.  The first batch of episodes are admittedly cute. But then it goes on and on and you realize there's a real possibility that you could live to be ninety and the damn show still won't be done.  There's only suppose to be X number of Pokemon and you think, "okay he'll catch 'em all and be done with it" but no!  They had to add more!  At least in MR, the creatures there had personalities and pasts and cool shit like that.  And Pixie and Lilim were hot to boot.

Pokemon is getting to be like Land Before Time, Power Rangers, and shitty straight-to-video Disney Movie Sequels (not to mention the Disney tv cartoons based off movies).

Originally, each one of these were so so. Yes, even Power Rangers was ok, just not spectacular. The original Land before time was cute. But then they had to spawn spinoff after spinoff after spinoff. And all the spinoffs are shit.

The reason they do this is because the creators know the original was extremly popular and they want to cash in on the popularity. And they know kids will watch damn near anything. It doesn't matter if the plot is shitty, the dialog sucks, and the writers and animators did a half assed job, kids will still be glued to the tv no matter how bad it is.

It doesn't help that the parents don't turn off the TVs and toss the damn kids out the door and onto the playground. And that many of them spoil their kids by buying whatever the kids want.

Other examples about things that just won't end is Star Trek. Enterprise doesn't totally suck, but compared to the last series, it reeks. Doesn't help that Rick Berman's a fucking moron nowadays. (or maybe it's just the writers).

And Havana Nights? They should have never made a sequel. I watched part of Havana Nights (it's set in 1960's Cuba), but ran away when they started playing hip hop gangsta rap in the middle of it. There is no gangsta rap in the 60s, and by playing that stupid shit they fucked the entire movie for me.

If it doesn't have patrick Swayzee in it, it fucking sucks.
*burns a pile of Havana Nights nazi style*

Ew!  Gangsta rap?  Are you serious?!  My god, EW!  I wouldn't have as much issue with sequels if most of them actually put some effort into the movie being an actual sequel that can stand on it's own instead of some rehash or some slapped together bs with a familiar name tagged on that makes little sense with the previous movie.

sometimes, even when the first movie sucks...there's still sequel after sequel after sequel.

i'd like to point out the movies leprechaun 1-6.   holy fuck, what were they thinking?

He went to the hood, to space, back to the hood.  He's a leprechaun.  That's why it's cool even if the movies suck major assness.
