There was an Archie story about this once, when Archie quite the Riverdale High football team and the players were pissed to find that he joined the cheerleaders. He told them he had asked himself whether he'd rather hold hands with a bunch of pretty girls or bang heads with a bunch of ugly guys. Then the whole team asked the cheerleader sponsor if they could join, too.

I knew a guy in college who was on cheerleader scholarship who would have probably messed somebody up if they'd called him gay. Dude had to have been around 6' 2" and 200 lbs. Cool guy, actually...the rest of us would hang at his place and watch all the hotties from the pom squad and cheerleaders flock around.

Reminds me of a guy at the rink where Eddie used to play hockey. Damn good figure skater, pretty-boy looks; got all kinds of shit from the hockey guys until they found out their girlfriends would hang with him while waiting for the games to finish. One of them broke off with hockey dude & hooked up with him. He practices at another rink now in the interest of his continued health. :P
