"New" is the reason for the season. Keep New in New Year.

No, I think we should start calling it 'Turning of the Year' so that old people aren't offended. We can't have agism in the Sphere.

How about Earth Revolution Day in honour of the Earth revolving around the Sun?

But it's not like it's rotating to the same coordinates every year, right?

I like Earth Revolution Day. The Earth's gonna revolt!

And we will throw Mars into the Bastille!

It will be the same location relative to the sun. The sun also revolves around the center of the galaxy. Problem is the orbit has no "start".

Someone should make a chalk mark out in space next time we swing around.

I've decided it would be logical to use a solstice or equinox as the "New Year" point. It's less arbitrary and would make the seasons easier to calculate.

I was thinking that as well.

Glad you agree. The Winter Solstice seems like the best one to take, and in thinking of this I realise this is probably why the year ends when it does. It makes sense to me that the year begings and ends with the Earth at it's further/coldest point from the sun, and since there are too, let's take the one that impacts the hemisphere with more land mass, which would be the northern hemisphere.
