I heard that Texas got quite a bit of snow and that temperatures dropped into the teens, causing roads to freeze and car accidents all over.
You know it's a bad omen when Texas freezes. I never knew it could even snow down there. maybe God's pissed that Bush won the election again.
Ohio got 2 feet of snow dumped on them. We've been spared the snow, but the temperatures were down in the single digits earlier this week.
I just wanna know what the fuck is going on, and why there's so much snow and arctic temperatures. I better move to mexico now before this state is covered in an ice sheet. Beware the eye of the superstorm.
-
3 days ago it was FREEEEZIING, it was like -18 fucking celsius...sooo bad! theres this autistic kid that dissapeared from home and he was found next day dead. it was soo bad that policemen were getting the bums out of the street and driving them to shelter homes. hooray the city of brotherly love!
damn i wish i was in Lima right now:( summer starts on december 25 :'(
-
It snowed here in Maryland two days ago, but today it got up to 60 degrees. Now it's supposed to snow again on Friday...
-
There's no snow in Atlanta.
-
It's cold as I imagine a well-digger's butt would be where I am. There's snow in Jackson, MS, which does not bode well for the Meridian area. I hate that white crap...it's like angels are shitting on you.
-
You didn't know it could snow here? I think that's kinda weird. Sure it doesn't where I'm at (flurries in '85 is the last time we even got close) but it snows in the Northern part.
-
Today it got up to 60 degrees with 100% humidity, then it dropped down to 30...
-
It has actually gotten a little warmer here in Southern California.
And there is no snow. As usual.
Humbug.
-
you dont want snow in california. The whole state would shut down. We get snow here in Memphis maybe 4 or 5 times a year and we're never ready for it.
-
We only got 6 inches of snow, but temperatures are freezing. Right now it's -5.
During the snow storm the last two days, ohio got 2 feet of snow, powet went out in several locations, typical winter stuff.. but the most interesting thing I've ever seen in a snow storm happeend in Indiana.
Because some semi trucks got stuck trying to drive up an icy hill on a highway, a massive backup occured. The entire backup was about 25 miles according to CNN. People started running out of gas and getting cold, so the army had to get helecopters and rescue everyone. How many cars and trucks can fit into 25 miles I don't know but it must be in the thousands.
-
We got sleet yesterday. It was like God had dandruff.
-
I can't believe it's snowing in New Orleans, Somebody must have wanted a white christmas extremly bad.
-
DAMN this winter is gonna be cold here. I remember last year i would go crying, YES, CRYING to a class that was like 4 blocks away from my apt just because it was fucking cold. fuck the cold weather. fuck it.
-
Well I'm glad that I have to drive twenty minutes to get to school. At least I get to drive in my nice, new, warm car.
It snowed sometime this morning. The snow plows woke me up at 7, and it was still really dark out.
Last year I remember grabbing a shovel to dig my car out of the snow just to pull it into the driveway so that the snow plows could clear the roads. <_<
-
I'm probably the only slim person who's comfortable in the cold.
-
I'm torn between wanting to build a snowman and being so sensitive to cold that I can't even stand being in the cold isles of the grocery store.
-
Cold does not bother me... It seems to bother everyone else in the state, but I guess working in a freezer for a year wearing nothing but a t-shirt had something to do with it.
-
I forget, where are you at again?
-
Maryland.
-
Asaba Maryland?
Never mind.
The only time cold bothers me is when I have to work in it because it precludes wearing sufficient layers as it hampers mobility. I remember dangling over a near-frozen river in single digit temperatures with 20 MPH north winds to I could work on a frozen field measurement device. As if they needed it RIGHT THEN, as it was used to measure river stage. You know, with the river being frozen, and all.
-
We had some flurries and snow collection on the birdbath & roofs, but that's about it. <_< I can't believe Corpus & Victoria got slammed, Nuri, along with Galveston. If I had known Galveston had gotten so much, we would have risked driving over the icy causeway just to get pictures of all the snowy Victorian houses, but there was no news whatsoever that morning, just Xmas programs.
Ah, well, I have the picture up here at work of my house during the Great Blizzard of January 1973. A full 3" of snow! School was closed for 2 days.
-
Galveston is the new name for a town that used to called Mergatron.
-
Asaba Maryland?
-
I couldn't believe Victoria got snow either. I told my mom yesterday and then today she's all "did you know they got snow". Yes! I did! Stop ignoring meee! :(
-
..........................
That's where Steve Austin is from! :D

Asaba Maryland?
Anybody ever seen the anime His & Her Circumstances (http://forums.shwiggie.com/index.php?showtopic=888) (a.k.a. Kare Kano)?
-
moiiiii! loooong time ago but i used to looooove it
-
It's almost become my favorite anime. Definitely my favorite series buy of the year.
-
i HATED the ending of the anime. i know it continues thru the manga but before that i stopped liking all that stuff.
-
Never seen it.
-
I heard Kare Kano has one of the worst anime endings ever, even worse than Last Exile.
But what do you expect, it's Gainax!
-
actually yeah but its not Gainax fault. They just couldnt wait for the creator of the manga to write as fast as they were producing the anime eps, so they just did two last episodes like the 2 last ones of evangelion, with old scenes and shit like that.
-
Evangelion was intended to end like it did. It was just that the creator of the show is a nut and was all about reviewing Shinji's "character development" as it "progressed" and wound up involved in complementation. But the movies fixed it...i.e., chopped of Eva's nuts in giving it a definitive ending :P However, I liked the "happily ever after" of the series ending over the "everybody dies" scenario from End of Eva.
From the "Minuses" section of my Kare Kano review:Secondly, the ending is horrible, suffering from "we caught up with the manga, let's wrap 'er up and GIT-R-DONE!" syndrome. I really hate this, since it kills everything that they'd been working up to at that point...there were new characters needing development, a new subplot going, etc, and it just plain sucks. However, the story wasn't really about those things: it was all about Arima and Miyazaki's relationship and its progression, so while there was no "happily ever after" ending (the last ep just goes on like business as usual and says, "The End" right after the credits roll) and there were lots of loose ends, it's not as if the most important thing was left unresolved. Plus, there's always the manga (the anime covered the first seven volumes...I found out there's five more after that one with six more on the way) and the potential for an OVA or second season for the show. But despite the shows success, given that it originally aired in 1998 it's looking doubtful to see a return to it.
The lame ending didn't kill the show, but having read the rest of the story in the manga, it's a real shame they didn't get to the play. Then again, it would have been drawn out to the point of being monotonous as the author effectively put the Miyazaki/Arima relationship on hiatus during the culture fest. But the trip to Kyoto (wherever it was they went on their school trip after the fest) would have been the perfect ending point for the series.

what! what hppened?? tell meeeee
-
Phil LaMarr saves the day.
-
Fresh from selling drugs on an episode of "Cold Case".
-
He would.
-
How did this thread go from weather to anime endings? I thought the anime ending thread was somewhere else?
Yesterday, high temp was over 50. Today's high was 20-30. Tomorrow's high is supposed to be mid 50s.
......... great weather.
-
Don't forget Phil LaMarr's presense in this thread. He'll bring a shock to your system... Or sell you drugs.
-
Or throw down a game of craps.
-
We got freezing rain last night. I made $6 in the four hours that I worked.
And it took me three minutes to walk across our small parking lot, down a large flight of steps and into the lower parking lot.
It was great.
-
What does that have to do with Phil LaMarr?
-
He came in, I waited on him and he stiffed me. Bastard.
I watched him on Reading Rainbow every week in first grade.
-
That's LaVarr Burton, hombre.
-
This is Phil LaMarr. (http://imdb.com/name/nm0482851/?fr=c2l0ZT1kZnxteD0yMHxzZz0xfGxtPTIwMHx0dD1vbnxwbj0wfHE9UGhpbCBMYU1hcnJ8aHRtbD0xfG5tPW9u;fc=1;ft=15) He's in everything, unlike LaVarr Burton. LaVarr probably stiffed you because all his mad-phat Roots money ran out.
-
He can always make the big bucks of the convention circuit. Or not.
Geordi will either be hocking cheap visors outside the Smithsonian or advertising psychic hotlines for food pretty soon, now.
-
He came in, I waited on him and he stiffed me. Bastard.

 !!
And LeVar != LaMarr.
Let our powers combine!
-
Forcast is a foot of snow tonight. I think Texas will be spared this time.
Great, first that state beats us in football, now you send all your snow up here! Leave us alone! At least we were a BLUE state!
-
Oh go bitch at Ohio.
-
I fucking hate Philly in winter yo! everytime its as shitty as today, i remember will smith's video :(
-
Mother fucking snow emergency in my area. There's supposed to be 8 to 10 inches by the time it's done.
Sounds like a perfect day to sleep in? Not if you have to go to court for a motherfucking speeding ticket.

I hate driving.

All of Houston's snow would have handily fit in a 2-car garage. Bitch at Victoria.

http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/010...s-coming05.html (http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/0105storms-coming05.html)
"You're talking a two- or three-times-a-century type of thing," said prediction center senior meteorologist James Wagner, who has been forecasting storms since 1965. "It's a pattern that has a little bit of everything."
So far, thanks to these storms, we've gotten about 8 inches of snow. That's nothing though. I've heard that Reno and Tahoe has gotten 5 feet of snow. I cannot fathom how much 5 feet is. The ohio river has flooded 6 feet. California is flooding as well.
Freak storms happen occasionally, and normally these wouldn't scare me.
What does scare me:
http://www.usatoday.com/weather/resources/...c-warming_x.htm (http://www.usatoday.com/weather/resources/coldscience/2005-01-06-csm-arctic-warming_x.htm)
The Arctic, they say, is undergoing profound ecological change. It's become the poster child for global warming. Not only are average air temperatures rising, ice sheets thinning, and permafrost melting, the whole complex interconnected network of arctic life and its environment are changing in ways not reflected in the geological record or Inuit lore.
So global warming is now causing the north to thaw out. Add to that a series of freak storms, and a giant tidal wave (that had nothing to do with weather, but did come at a really bad time). If Dennis Quaid shows up and claims the world is ending, it would be perfect.
Bush, you think Global Warming scientists are crackpots and that your precious God wouldn't let global warming happen... I hope DC is the first city to get sucked under a 200 foot tidal wave.
