Starting at 1am friday morning G1 Transformers marathon on the HUB. Around 2pm Transformers Prime and GI JOE Renegades minimarathon. At about 6pm maybe 7pm Avengers minimovie on DisneyXD. Elsewhere on Cartoon Network Young Justice pilot/movie followed by an encore of Firebreather.

Transformers Prime looks like fucking garbage, but I will almost definitely still watch it. There was better animation 1996.

I'm really most looking forward to the hour long Avengers, but I'll take in Young Justice as well. We don't have The Hub, so I won't be able to watch Prime.

I saw the latter half of it...wasn't really that impressed. If they show it again I'll watch it from the start, but I found Robin very annoying. But I'm more a Marvel fan, DC stuff just doesn't do it for me as much. The animation looked good though.

I just finished watching it, thank you, Internet.
In contrast to you, I think Robin was my favorite one. I really liked him and I see him carrying most of the show with clutzy Kid Flash. Superboy's the bitchy one, Aqualad's the calm one, Miss M's the cute one.
The animation was an odd thing because it looked really good at some points but awful and cheap in others. If you watch it again, pay attention to the ending where Supes flies in. In one shot w/ Supes, WW, and Martain MH, they all look terrible. Supes's torso looks way off and Wonder Woman looks like shitty fan art. In the next scene, the Flash's body also looks awful. It almost seemed like they rushed the art in the end.
Too bad they didn't air this a month sooner because all those creatures screamed Halloween.
As much as I like seeing the JLeaguers, it felt like overkill. I kinda wish we had seen everyone at the Hall of Justice and then in the ending we just get Bats, Supes, and maybe MM. I don't think anyone else really had to be there save Red Tornado and then Black Canary at the end.

I say Kid Flash was my favorite. Miss M wasn't even really in this thing, so I don't know much about her. Supes was emoing out, and they even pushed that over with the whole "Oh boo hoo...daddy Supes don't lovers me...so I HATES him!"
Anyway, show doesn't start till Jan, but I doubt it'll replace Avengers. Which I am watching now cause I thought I could go out and get back in time to see it...and I failed. So I'm watching this...and then Gargoyles is on.

Roy Harper's Speedy apparently won't be in it, at least as a headliner, which explains why Mia Dearden's in there as Speedy II. The artwork reminded me of the Crisis on Two Earths. I also wonder if Ms. Martian will keep her comics origin or not...if so, shades of "Starcrossed" loom.

It would've made more sense for Superboy to have some odd clone-grudge against Superman than Superman to be all "Bah, damn teen clone stepping on my lahwn."
They made Ms. Martain MM's niece, so would that affect her comic origin any?
Also, character designer here is supposed to be the same one from Crisis.

I don't get why they insist on making Superman a whiny bitch all the time. It's simply not who the character is. They depower him, making him a wuss, and wonder why they aren't making more money on Supermovies?

Well, her comic origin is that she's a White Martian, whereas J'onn J'onzz is a Green Martian...no relation, plus the two races are mortal enemies. So they revised it, unless it becomes an issue to be addressed later on.
Also, character designer here is supposed to be the same one from Crisis.

Transformers Prime was shit. Never mind the ugly character designs or that the animation looks worse than Beast Wars. I'd like to know why do they keep trying to cast the Autobots as pedophiles?
GI Joe Renegades, I didn't see it but nothing will ever top GI JOE Resolute.
Firebreather was pretty ok.
Young Justice was pretty great.
Avengers Gamma World was good but I really wish they would switch animation studios.

No...it was two episodes of Avengers: Earth Mightiest Heroes. The plot revolved around The Leader trying to expose the whole world to Gamma Radiation and mutating them into monsters. Hence the title "Gamma World." Course Hulk, Thor, and Hawkeye stopped him.

I watched some clip of the Avengers the other day and it does look like it would get a good shot in the arm with some nicer looking artwork.

Anyway, I dug Young Justice. I dug it hard. I especially like how they kind of set it up as a spiritual successor to JLU. Sorry if anyone already pointed that out, I only skimmed.
Prime looked promising from the five minutes I caught. I dunno, will I change my mind once I've seen the rest?
Joe Renegades is heinous. The faces. God, the faces. The face is the most important part of any cartoon character! That's where the fucking life is! But not here, no -- they look like a bunch of generic clone scrunchy-faced people. What the fuck and a half, man.
And just as I was about to post this I remembered what those faces remind me of! That fucking cheap show CN used to air about the kids who were cartoons in the real world and CG "warriors" when they went inside that computer. What the hell was that called? Wasn't the show named after the villain? And you never actually saw the villain, it was just this omnipresent force. Argh, what was it?

I've heard it's actually inspired somewhat by the A-Team, and he's supposed to be their Mr. T -- and of course they couldn't just make him look like Mr. T -- but I don't care. Shit's dumb as hell.

Has anyone been following YJ? I don't know if it's my cynical old age (heh) but I'm finding it kinda stale right now. Red Speedy Arrow-guy seems like the only character with a brain. I wish this show took a different approach to this concept, like having adventures with the Mentor/sidekick pairs that eventually brings each junior in contact with another junior from a different pair. So they meet up bit by bit. Like Robin meets KF and KF meets Miss Martian. Then Miss Martian encounters Aqualad and he later meets Robin. Then the three guys break out Superboy so one or two of them end up getting permanently stuck with Superboy and then just form the team like that with them having sparse adventures w/ one of the older heroes. It's like everyone was thrown together for the brilliant scheme to do nothing, but, oooh, conspiracy's afoot! It's not terrible but at times I'd almost bored enough to want to watch Teen Titans and that show seriously got on my nerves.

It's a bit on the slow side, but it's also just getting started. Now that the whole team (as originally advertised) is together now, I expect it to take off soon.
That reminds me, I need to go download that episode. I keep forgetting to watch it.

Someone told me that they didn't have the okay to use Wonder Womany charachters at the beginning, but now they do. We might get an obnoxious Cassie or a slightly less obnoxious Donna. Have any of you heard for sure what they said about this?

Maybe for the second season. They've already got the snotty and goody-goody chicks sewn up...for now.
And, hey, Doctor Fate. Love it when they use the oldest of the old guys. Justice Society was one of my favorite books until it split a couple years ago. This was a good episode. I mean, not only our favorite Lord of Order, but one of the Flash's Rogues, Abra Kadabra, and Klarion the Witch-boy, too? Klarion was actually the main villain in at least one Young Justice story arc back when that book (where the show got its name) was around.

I like YJ but they might have been better off doing a new Justice League show instead. Moving on, looks like CN is trying to kill Symbiotic Titan. I guess if it doesn't have toyline it's not worthy of a spot on fridays. Meanwhile, G.I. Joe Renegades is boring and ugly as sin. And i really don't think kids even like G.I Joe anymore. The Wal-marts in my town don't even carry the toys. Then there's TF Prime,um good shit. It reminds me a lot of Beast Wars but that just maybe because of the animation.

And so far, no idea what kind of Wondergirl we'll get yet. We'll probably get a Donna that acts like Cassie.

If Wonder Girl is a combo character, I hope they also mix the name. Given the Wonder chicks' connection to Greek mythology, the name Cassandra Troy would be far more evocative of that mythos. Particularly if they make her to be always right but nobody ever believes her :D

This new superman movie already has turd written on it. They less than a year to film and they have no script. It probably would have made more sense for them to just release All Star Superman in theaters.

But Chris Sims over at ComicsAlliance just reviewed it and said it was one of the best. And given his opinion of the comic, I take him seriously. And another review I read gave it a B-, so "turd" may be a bit much.
I may download to see if I want to buy it. I usually buy, but some of these things have been so weak as to make me regret buying.

Yeah, a real shame. He was one of the greats. Even worse is that it seems to have been something that cropped up rather suddenly, as he died from complications stemming from what was apparently an emergency surgical procedure Monday night.
Sorry for the mix-up. There's so much Superman stuff going on lately :P

I generally avoid Doomsday stuff. He, like Bane, was only dreamed up as a means selling books with Superman temporarily dying. There's just nothing to him but killing and being used by others to do their killing. The single best scene ever featuring Doomsday was the tiny panel in Infinite Crisis where Kal-L Earth-2 Golden Age Old Superman catches his punch in mid-air, says, "not this time, monster," and literally punches his jaw off.
But apparently it has him trying to kill the four Supermen from the Reign of the Supermen storyline, which could be fun. Superboy just got over dying not long ago, so he's safe. Eradicator has been crap for years since he quit being Punisher Superman after Henshaw blew his ass to smithereenies, so the magic eight ball says he croaks. Steel probably won't make it, either, as he hasn't been dead in a while...the last time being at the hands of--take a wild guess--Doomsday. Natch.
And then there's Cyborg Superman...so that ought to be cool, since Doomsday has had a beef with Henshaw ever since he launched his ass into deep space while he was dead/unconscious from the beating The Real Effin' Superman gave him in Superman #75. And Henshaw's so bad-ass the only guy who otherwise had a shot at killing him was the Anti-monitor...and that includes Darkseid in the figuring.
It took every Kryptonian on New Krypton to kill Doomsday last time, so I don't see yet how they're going to up the ante.

Henshaw won't die, at least not a real death. That's been his thing for so long. He joined forces with the Sinestro Corps because the Anti-Monitor promised him death,and then Prime goes and throws the Anti-Monitor into deep space where he floated until Scar got a hold of him(huh, didn't know Henshaw did the same thing to Doomsday). Henshaw was pretty much destroyed at the end of that, but the Manhunters put him back together again. Then he tried with the Alpha-Lanterns to find a way to reverse engineer the process, hoping that Ganthet could kill him.
I actually really like Henshaw. I'd like him to get what he's seeking, but I find him too interesting to really want it.

Yeah, Cyborg Supes is one of the more inventive enemies they ever came up with. I nearly fell out of my chair when I discovered who he really was in Reign of the Supermen...I'd read that story introducing Henshaw and his Fan-tragic Four storyline and never figured it'd matter past the two issues that comprised it. He's quite the flexible opponent, given his guile, technological proclivities, and raw strength.
But yeah...when the Cyborg Superman first hit the scene, he busts into STAR Labs, confiscates the body of Doomsday, straps it to an asteroid, and hurls it into deep space, along with an anti-tampering homing device/self-preserving backup unit in case he got destroyed...which he did.
