I was gonna post this in the "what are you watching" thread or whatever, but this really warranted its own topic. The local CW affiliate here was showing DBZ Kai at, like, 2:30 am and I saw this:

:lmao: WUT!? Not to mention this:

Goku's not allowed a halo. Instead he gets glowing yellow ectoplasm.
It's been a good fourteen years or so since I first started watching DBZ, how did the edits manage to get worse? Hilarious, mind you, but worse. Black Popo and halos were both allowed in old Saban-style DBZ. And yes there were other edits, too but they were more understandable and less funny.
And a bonus:

Well see I just got out of the shower...and that window is really low and not very stable...
Oh...you mean from DBZ. Wow...they PCed the hell out of that toon.
-
Yeah, they changed a few things here and there.
But if you want True Popo, you need to watch DBZ Abridged (http://www.teamfourstar.com).
-
Seen it and loved it. Merla actually just discovered DBZ Abridged not too long ago and made the mistake of watching some of it at work, proceeding to lol.
-
PECKING ORDER!
-
I tried to give Kai a chance but it's just as boring as the regular flavor DBZ. Abridged is funny as shit though.

It took me a couple of minutes to realize why would they change the color

don't they still sell "Darkie" tooth paste in japan? I think it's called"Darkly" now.
*correction: the name was changed to Darlie but only in english speaking markets.

These odd edits are almost making it into something between regular DBZ and Abridged.

Don't forget the Purple Smurfs. Lifted from the Smurfs Wiki:
"Apparently due to the title and the nature of the black-skinned Smurfs, this comic issue was not until recently translated for the racially-cautious English-speaking market, despite not characterizing 'black smurfs' as a race but rather as sufferers of a zombie-like condition (transmissible but luckily reversible). The English translation of the story published by Papercutz changes the black Smurfs to purple."
Re: Mr. Popo, why didn't they just do what Viz did in the comic and paint his lips black, too? Seems easier than doing the whole body.

What's that?
Anyways, the only ones that have problems with racism and call everything racist are americans. They dont give a shiet about none o' that in good ol' Japan. or any other country i've been to for that matter.
-
The toothpaste thing reminded me of the fake racists ads presented during Spike Lee's C.S.A. mockumentary, including Darkie Toothpaste and Niggerhair cigarettes.
-
That's where I got it from.
-
How about Niggerboy austrailia wool pads?

Aren't the populations more homogeneous in most of the other countries? Especially Japan?
-
Yeah but that would be a bigger reason for them to be racists.
-
No, it would give them less material.

This is a country where they ask your blood type when they meet you. (http://animecornerstore.blogspot.com/2010/10/anime-word-of-week-ketsueki-gata.html)
It's always something.

Sorry I read the title of the page "Robert's Anime Corner Blog" and I closed it automatically. Then I reopened it again, cause I wanted to see what a bunch of weaboos are going to pull out of their asses this time. And no its not true. They have books about it, yes, diets, yes but they certainly don't ask you about it when they meet you.
