MEMPHIS, TN--A Memphis teen is behind bars, accused of passing out counterfeit money at school.

18-year-old Robert Dailey was arrested Wednesday and charged with forgery. Police say he was handing out the fake money to students at Douglass High School. Dailey admitted making the fake bills with his home computer and printer. Police say they found $420 of the fake money in his wallet.

Dailey is being held on a $1,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court February 18th.

Ah, the youth of today.

If he has another $100 in funny money at home, he's made bail.

Did anyone actually accept the money for a good or service or was he just passing it out like party favors?

You'd be shocked how stupid people are with green. Usually it's the 'dumb immigrants' that are more suspicious. In Miami, there was a story of someone who bought a car with over 1/2 counterfiet bills, and the car dealer didn't realize it until after the guy bought gas in said car(the gas cashier tested the bills), to which the police backtracked his phoney spending habits. I can't find the story on google news, but it happened a few years ago.

I hope for their sakes he at least used textured paper and tumbled it in the dryer because typing paper money just suggests all kinds of levels of retarded.

Like on the Wire. Some people are really unable to detect fake money.

Those people should be forced to keep the fake stuff.

I read a very good book over the origins of American counterfeiting, where early Americans tended to use really good fakes, since there weren't enough real bills to conduct business. The best part was, the people trained to verify real bills often were the biggest producers of the fakes.
