Title: Dennis Hopper Thread
Post by: B E C K on Jan 19, 2010, 05:16:06 PM
Get in before he dies.

Also, best wishes for his divorce.  Hope he succeeds.

Terminally ill Dennis Hopper desperate to divorce wife before he dies so she only get a quarter of his estate (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1244511/Terminally-ill-Dennis-Hopper-desperate-divorce-wife-dies-quarter-estate.html)

Easy Rider; Dennis Hopper helped define American cinema. (http://www.kelowna.com/2010/01/19/easy-rider-dennis-hopper-helped-define-american-cinema/)

Dennis Hopper fighting 'hell of a battle' (http://content.usatoday.com/communities/entertainment/post/2010/01/dennis-hopper-fighting-hell-of-a-battle/1)

I'll be honest, Easy Rider was kinda stupid.  Is it wrong if I choose to remember him for Speed instead?  Ha, ha "attempt to grow a brain" indeed!

Speed was fucking awesome. I never watched Easy Rider and likely never will.

That whole movie is giant bleach stain in my brain.  The best thing I remember about it was after it was over the credits were cut off and it made me angry because movies don't feel complete to me unless I see the credits in their entirety.

that movie was awesome.

I feel bad for him, how hes trying to divorce his wife while on his death bed and now they are saying that his daughter is making him doing it. fucking leeches. I'm  no one to complain about being mantained by your parents since they gave me money till I got my first job, but after that, that was it. I've never again asked them for one cent. But this bitch is like thirty something and with a kid and completely mantained by her dad? shit's not right
Title: Re: Dennis Hopper Thread
Post by: B E C K on Jan 20, 2010, 03:38:35 PM
I don't know anything about it but the woman is his fifth wife and he has four kids.  Maybe he just wants his kids to be able to get the bulk of his estate.  If he succeeds, the his ex-wife--who was a former waitress--will get a quarter of his estate.  It seems there's two general reactions to dying people: support and bat-shit mortification of one's own mortality.  She probably went with #2 and he was all "well, fuck, I've given her all of this shit and she won't even comfort me in my last days. imma divorcing this bitch."  Not that that's been written anywhere, but that was my assumption if it's true that he's retained all of his faculties (since some ppl are saying otherwise).  Reportedly, he doesn't want her anywhere near him.

Just to add, however, that the daughter in question in Faye's post has that money-grubber, abusive-old-ppl-nurse, pyramid-scammer face:

GAH! What happened to the one on the left's face? It's like they double dipped on forehead.
Title: Re: Dennis Hopper Thread
Post by: B E C K on Jan 20, 2010, 03:58:30 PM
Yeah, my stomach tried to run, too.  That's the current wife btw.  Her forehead's bigger than her balding husband's.  Get some bangs, lady.
Title: Re: Dennis Hopper Thread
Post by: Rama on Jan 20, 2010, 04:02:47 PM
Maybe instead of bangs she could have a face extension on her chin to make her face more balanced and also cover up that long ass neck. I mean unless her diet consists of green leaves from the top of the trees. Then that will come in damn useful.

Post by: B E C K on Jan 20, 2010, 04:06:24 PM
Since I'm not a huge fan of surgery anyway, I think a few sandwiches and some lighter make-up would do wonders for the future former Mrs. Hopper.  That clownish red lipstick and hooker rouge isn't doing her any favors.  Also, perhaps letting her eyebrows fill in a bit.  I can't help but think she probably had a nose job and that only made her face look longer.
Title: Re: Dennis Hopper Thread
Post by: Rama on Jan 20, 2010, 04:09:16 PM
I don't know...I don't think that would help too much. Might make it less noticeable, but still something would be off.

And is said wife younger then said daughter? Cause that's kinda creepy if true, but not unexpected.

Sagacious Wikipedia has the daughter being 6 years older than current wife and 4 years older than his previous wife.

HAA NICE, I'm sure my dad would like to welcome your dad into the dirty old men club. Actually I think your dad deserves the president seat since my dad is 60 and his "wife" is 32, so your dad wins. Be sure he doesn't change the will.

Posting this because the title made me both laugh and cringe: Hopper daughter fingered (http://www.theprovince.com/Hopper+daughter+fingered/2466654/story.html)

Quote
Dennis Hopper's daughter is reportedly behind his plans to divorce. The cancer-stricken actor -- who is believed to have just weeks left to live -- recently announced plans to legally end his 14-year marriage to Victoria Duffy, but insiders insist his eldest child Marin, 47, from a previous marriage, is heavily involved in the process.

A source told the Huffington Post: "It's so horrible, Dennis is at home, Victoria and Galen -- his six-year-old daughter with her -- are living there as well, and Marin is pulling her father out of his bed and driving him to the divorce lawyers. The poor guy has no idea what is going on. Marin has always hated Victoria. If she can get her father to reject Victoria on his deathbed, and get more money in the process, she'll be the happiest woman in Los Angeles."

However, friends of the 73-yearold actor insist it was his decision to divorce Victoria, 41.

One pal told the New York Post newspaper: "Dennis told me, 'I've worked so hard to give Victoria everything she wanted, but it only fuelled her appetite for more and more luxury.' "

Hopper has four children from his five marriages.

He's gone along with Gary Coleman...  Actually, when Coleman died, I asked Merla if Dennis Hopper was still alive.  Then this morning she told me he died.  Meanwhile, this article (http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/entertainment_movies_blog/2010/05/dennis-hopper-1936-2010.html) lists "Waterworld" down in his body of work.  I--I... I don't know why anyone would include that, actually.

That's what I said and my mom's stupid boyfriend was all "So-and-so died" and I was all "Who's that?" and he was all "Derr, he was like in a band a long time ago that sounds hella obscure.  I remember them back in the seventies because I'm totally old."  And I was all "never heard of him, fucker."
