Title: Crazy Timmy's Crazy Adventure
Post by: B E C K on Jan 18, 2010, 04:59:47 PM
I had another job interview, actually a follow-up to a previous interview.  Merla has the day off so she took me.  She thought about just dropping me off but decided to wait in the car for me and get some reading done.  It's about 21 miles across town, most of it at 70mph.  So we get there early and I have to wait in the car with her until 12:25.  Merla and I are chilling.  She asks if I want the music on but I just decide to stew in silence.  We hear people talking and then a faint cat's meow.  We thought it was ppl in the parking lot just fooling around, but we kept hearing it so we're thinking someone has a cat.  We keep hearing it though and realize it's too close to us.  We get out of the car to see if there's a cat around and on my side, I see the neighbor's cat, Timmy, come out from under the freakin' car!   :o  Apparently he was in the damn engine the entire trip.  I grab him and toss him back in the car and he slept in backseat while I had my interview.  Afterwards we stopped at a nearby Target and got him a carrier so we could take him home in safety.  The poor little guy was a bit shaken, but otherwise okay.  But good lord, he could've fallen out anywhere!   :(

We lost a cat that way once. Crawled up in the engine to get warm and no one knew shew was there and...yeah I'll leave the rest blank.

We also lost a cat when it was asleep on top of the car and no one knew it and she didn't jump off when we left. Going down the road suddenly there are is this bang and then two paws on the windshield and then gone. Searched all over and never found that one. Don't know if she died, or lived and was just so scared that she kept running till she ended up someplace else. This was back when I was kid though, haven't had a cat do anything like that in a long time.

This thread is making me sad faced.

He's lucky he wasn't ripped apart. That happened to my Mom, she turned the car on and then heard a giant scream. She got out and noticed blood dripping from under the hood. The cat weaseled their way onto the engine, so it was just pulled apart like taffy. She told me always make alot of noise when it's cold out.

Me and Kary just spotted a stray in our yard, but thankfully my car is in the garage.

Normally we bang on the hoods when it's cold to flush cats out.  It wasn't that cold today so we didn't think anyone would be in there.  (Strangely enough, I had a nagging thought to do so but I didn't.)  A few years back my dad caught a kitten in the engine and I guess since he was so small, he came through okay as well.

We also lost a cat when it was asleep on top of the car and no one knew it and she didn't jump off when we left.

Not to make fun, but your story reminded me of what would happen to my dad and his giant convenience store drinks.  Except instead of falling asleep, my dad would take a sip of them and then leave them there, cursing after we took off.

This happened to my brother and our new kitten back in the early 80's. He cranked up the truck, drove 35 miles to Meridian for some tractor parts, drove back, and while getting out to unload the still-cranked truck, the shit (and the kitten) hit the fan about the time he got out. It had apparently ridden all the way to town under the hood and decided to move about the time he got out.

I did that once, but only once. But the soda rode on top of the car (I have luggage racks on top of my car) from Jefferson City to Osage Beach and didn't fall over. I know most of you don't know where those two places are, but it's journey of 30 miles or more with hilly and curvy roads most of the way. I had to say I was impressed, but didn't drink it.

And then there's that whole "going to cemetary" thing that Merla could never get around to.  (She has some spell book or something.)  Apparently, my grandma would bury cat eyeballs for some purpose.  I imagine that's how you took away editing privileges in the 1940's.

In Crazy Timmy's Crazy Adventure: The Freakquel, our young hero stows away on the evil Queen Merla's Magical Chariot, or Toyota Yaris in the old tongue, on her quest to get a super-secret binding enchantment--also known as inspection sticker.  After a sojurn to the Toyota homeland where the barbarians have over-run the country due to Priuslord's Power of Safety Recall, the Queen journeys to a completely non-sexual place called Ye Old Jiffy Lube.  After receiving a spell book and preparing to take her seat in the Temple of Waiting, an old sage saw the wily Timmy emerge into the light and cast the magic of Embarassing Pointing and Laughter on every knight and squire in the land.  The horrified Queen grabbed Timmy and threw him into the chariot, spiriting him back to her castle and trying not to crash and die along the way as he jumped into the front seat.  "Yea, never canst I show mine face at that Lube of Jiffy!" cried she.  "For the spell of Embarassing Pointing and Laughter is permanent and shall never fade."  And thus, she was banished to Floating Island of Firestone, which technically doesn't float but is actually suspended in the sky by huge columns of used tires.

If Jiffy Lube is a non-sexual place for her, then she is just not trying hard enough.

I wear nice jeans more often than not. I only wear slacks with a matching dress jacket. Otherwise, why wear just slacks?

I saw a dude today who was dressed in a nice shirt and slacks and I thought, "well, he looks sharp" and then I looked at his feet.  Sandals.  Ratty ones, too.  Bleh.  It looked like somebody mugged him for his shoes and a buddy loaned him the flip-flops rotting in his car so he wouldn't be barefoot.

Especially in high heels.

OT - I haven't seen our young hero recently.  Methinks he hopped on another four-wheeled dragon and now takes up residence elsewhere.
