Title: Turtles Forever
Post by: B E C K on Jan 10, 2010, 01:56:36 PM
I finally saw this puppy.  I don't get CW (which is odd because it seems we're supposed to, but I know no one who gets this w/o satellite or cable) so I watched the director's cut on the 4Kids website.  It went okay for the first few acts but by the end there were serious buffer issues and the vid kept skipping around after commercials.  Anyway, it was fucking awesome.  I doubt ppl who didn't watch the old turtles or knew it was based off of a gritty comic found it as funny.  I wish it was out on DVD already.

I know Gwynn watched this.  Anyone else?

I want to watch it...but I'm never up early enough on Sat to catch cartoons anymore. And I don't have a fast enough connection to watch it online so I have to wait till it comes out on DVD and rent it.

Never even heard of it. When I wake up, I tend to watch the news or stuff.

I watched it when it first aired. 80's Leonardo's voice irritated me somewhat, but the rest were fine. The voice crew wasn't consistent throughout the original run, so it wasn't that jarring to me that some were different.  It was nice to hear the old school VAs who reprised their roles, though.

The 80's show was silly, but not to the extent shown in this movie. When it went to CBS on Saturday mornings that it got progressively goofier, but they didn't stop and laugh at everything like a green, shelled Beavis and Butthead quaternity as they did here.

Although I felt they cast the 80's show in a slightly disfavorable light, I still loved the snot out of this show.

Yeah, I agree on all points, my fine rodentia.  Was there ever a banana monster in the original show?  Anybody recall?

Never even heard of it. When I wake up, I tend to watch the news or stuff.

It was a special made to commemorate the 25th anniv of the Turtles.

I don't watch tv that much anymore but if I wake up early enough and feel like watching tv, you know I'll be tuning in to watch my boy, Jerry Springer

Excuse me? Jerry Springer is AWESOME. Not only the show, him as a person too (as I had the luck to meet him last year, and I have a pic!). His show is pure win and now that is being recorded in CT I'm hoping I'll be able to go see it soon. Maybe I'll get some Jerry beads too

They bus them all for free to CT, because they save so much more money filming there they can afford it.

No SHIT ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?! Do they pick you up from Manhattan or something?

Yup. Jerry was on XM talking about it, the city of Greenwich (I think it was Greenwich) offered them basically everything for free. Smart, considering the amount of rednecks and niggas that would be flocking there for Jerry, Maury, and all the other awful shows. They love to spend every cent when they get it.

Neither Maury nor Springer were filmed in Manhattan, I think they were filmed in Chicago. Which one are you talking about?

Maury moved to Stamford with Jerry. I don't know why I thought it was Greenwich.

I can't bring myself to see that.  I've put it on there before and it's like he's retarded or something: You can't really laugh and it makes you feel awkward to watch.

I still haven't seen the Director's Cut, since the 4kids player kept messing up. I assume that is the version that will be coming out to DVD wheneverthehell they get around to making it.

Yeah, that's the one I saw.  It actually played fine for me at first but then it kept skipping whole segments and doing two commercials in a row instead, often spoiling the show in the process.

I can't stand his show.  Nothing against him.  It's the guest that disgust me.  How is it that a dozen men can be tested for paternity and none of them are the father?!?  How a woman could be with so many men in such a short time window is beyond my comprehension?

Some women love cock. I don't know, it's great when she has like 4 men, and none turn out to be the father. The despair is so saddening, yet I never feel sad over it.

I think it's great. It's especially sweet after she has chewed him out about how the kid looks just like him and he knows it's his. Mmmmmmmmmm Human misery is so sweet.

"But he HAS to be the father!  He has to be!"
"Are you sure?"
"I'm a 110% sure, Maury!"
"He says he's not."
"He IS!  Look at my baby!  He has his nose!  He has his nose!"
"The nose is kind of small.  And he is just a baby--"
"Nu-uh, that's his daddy's nose!"
"And there's no one else?"
"No one else!"

*45 minutes later after cycling through several similar stories, we finally open envelopes*

"And he is not the father."
"NOOOO!!"
Man: "I told you!  I told YOU!  Yes!" *high fives other possible daddy*
*Other possible daddy does Bruce Willis jig from The Last Boyscout*
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" *runs backstage*
*Maury follows her.*  "We'll find the father.  We'll help you.  Is there anyone else?"
"......  Yes."

*two episodes later, daddy still not found*

I love the shitty TV edits. I love how they completely omit scenes from Pulp fiction, including Marvin's brains being splattered all over the back of Jules' car, and 'dead Nigger storage'.

LOL thats exactly how it goes! I laugh everytime these bitches go running out of stage crying their eyes out like they are the poor victims. PFT yeah, poor THEIR children that will have to endure forever that their whorish mothers were in national tv cause they couldn't keep their legs shut in front of more than one guy!

Multiple appearances on Maury should be grounds to have social services declare the mothers (and fathers depending on the circumstances) unfit.

It reminds me of a Benny Hill skit.

"Oh, your baby is adorable. He has your husband's nose!"
"Yes, but he has his father's eyes."
*all said in earshot of the husband*

Ha, Benny Hill was funny, but all I seem to remember is breasts and Yakitty Sax.
