What about Quincy?

I had no idea Diagnosis Murder was a spin-off of Jake and the Fatman.

I hate everyone who isn't Dick or Barry Van Dyke.  Even Jerry.

DOBBER!

It took me the longest time to figure out what that goofy bastard's name was.  I was like, "Dauber, as in a dirt dauber? Nah, that's nutty."
Title: Re: Happy Birthday, Diagnosis Murder!
Post by: B E C K on Oct 30, 2009, 10:25:46 PM
Michael "Dauber" Dybinski!

I never knew the correct spelling. I spent a good chunk of my High School years high and watching Coach reruns on TBS.

For whatever reason, I always knew the correct spelling.  I guess because I would've pronounced "dobber" "dow-ber", never mind that somebody has feel the same way about "dauber".

I can see that, but then what did I know. I was high.

I fucking miss that show, too. I don't think it'd be quite as entertaining. Like MASH, another show I loved while baked.
Title: Re: Happy Birthday, Diagnosis Murder!
Post by: B E C K on Nov 02, 2009, 11:56:26 AM
I was never high but liked Coach and was bored by MASH.

" was bored by MASH."

You are dead to me.

Post by: B E C K on Nov 02, 2009, 04:26:54 PM
Sorry, boner.  Maybe now in my, ahem, advanced age perhaps I may enjoy MASH should I partake of it.  But I was so bored by it back then.  Sofa king bored.  The theme music for show was in fact also the theme music for my hand quickly reaching for the remote control.  Not to mention since it always came out later in the evening, it was the death knell for the rest of the day.

Da-doot dootdoot-doot-doo-doo doo, your day is over-over bitch...

Boo the war.  Boo the dreary colors.

Well, it seems I got the point without ever sitting down and watching the show.  HA!

Post by: Fiero on Nov 02, 2009, 05:02:40 PM
Have you watched the movie? Its a good starting point and the theme song has words, but its in the movie and not the theme song of the movie, it was just later adapted to not have words and be the theme song of the show where they changed all the characters to different actors except Radar, who is the main reason to watch the show anyway.

I didn't even know there was a movie.

Wow.

It's better than the TV show, minus that I think Alan Alda is always superior to Donald Sutherland.

And I agree with you.

Also the whistling is just a stupid fucking gimmick that's way more irritating than endearing.

I have never found whistling endearing.

I agree with Fiero. Do it, or else we will inact Muslim law and take this board because it makes women too Westernized. Then I will run over you with a car and cut your head off.

Isn't that a Buddhist thing? In the Muslim world I have to throw acid on you, then why the fluids dissolve the softtissue, I then coat you with oil and proceed to conflagrate it until you learn manners. Or... was it death?

All I remember as a kid was being bored till the Helicopter showed up and started blowing stuff up. That should have been the whole show. Just like Knight Rider should have just been KITT jumping over stuff and smashing through garage doors.

God, I saw on my digital tv schedule that AIRWOLF was on, I almost had a heart attack as I haven't seen that since I was a kid. Turns out the schedule was wrong for some reason and it was Emergency! Fuck.

We have failed so much in the middle east. These assholes with their backwards religion and strict beliefs are just making it worse... we should have either sent in massive numbers of troops and tanks and kicked the shit out of anything that moved, or just blown the whole place to nuclear dust.

I was thinking this very thing tonight while watching a special on the Tehran hostage crisis. That place should still be smouldering.

I would advise watching M*A*S*H, but I was always a fan of the seasons that had David Ogden Stiers, aka Winchester. I enjoyed his relationship with BJ and Hawkeye a lot more, because he wasn't just the requisite dick for them to prank. He had depth!

ALSO on semi-regards to topic, there was an Episode of Diagnosis Murder that did include a bunch of M*A*S*H actors, Movie and Show. It had the two gals who played Major Hoolihan in the Movie and TV show, Sally Kellerman and Loretta Swit, It had William Christopher AKA Father Mulcahey in the TV show, and Jamie Farr who played Klinger.

Is it sad that I remember the actor names pretty damn easily? Having to only lookup Sally Kellerman?

Also I own the entire series on DVD, including the Bonus content DVD and am considering getting the Collectors Edition of the series despite it's $200+ price tag?

I've been wanting that collectors edition. I cannot at this time afford it, and I know the lack of it is ruining my life. It is the only thing that will ever make me happy.
