And I'm just wondering what Universal Studios is going to do with all those Marvel Rides. Can't see Disney letting them keep them with Disney World being just down the road.
-
This sucks on a couple different levels.
-
Universal Studios has rights to the rides East of the Mississippi. Disney can not put Marvel rides at their Florida location. They CAN, however, where the West Coast is concerned.
I don't see the positives of this acquisition. Not when Disney has the track record of burying everything they don't like for oblivion.
-
I care about this as much as I care about an asshole I don't like hooking up with another asshole I don't like. They deserve each other.
-
Does anybody remember Peter Pan and the Pirates? With Tim Curry as Hook? Disney has the rights to that. They apparently acquired it when they bought a bunch of Fox shit including the Marvel Action Hour or whatever. (The 90's Iron Man and FF, remember them?) And because they don't want other Peter Pans competing with their old ass film, it'll never see the light of day.
-
I remember that show. It was out about the same time as the Robin Williams movie "Hook"
-
I don't see Disney really messing with Marvel. They may put 1 or 2 execs in the comics division, but I mainly see them taking over distribution rights for the movies since those have been making massive payouts and Disney films... not so much.
-
You're all missing a key point: Marvel's totally ripping off DC, who were assimilated into Warner Brothers forty years ago.
But, no, all signs point to this being no problem for Marvel fans...in fact, it's probably a boon in the long term.
-
As opposed to the current Marvel administration making interesting storylines and decisions good for fans? One coprorate beast is no better than the other.
ESTABLISHMENT, MAN!
-
If the frozen Head of Walt Disney comes in to personally fire Joey Q, it will all be worth it.
-
I would be happy if that happened. Maybe Spider-man could be good again.
