Great frickin movie. It cements Tarantino as a great director, he just nailed this movie. It was his, yet it wasn't. The best scene, cinematically, was the restaurant scene with the Strudel. That whole sequence was just wonderful and conveyed timelessness and subdued Danger.
Brad Pitt made a great character, but Christoph Waltz stole the show. His villian was perfect, and you wanted to hate a Nazi but yet you loved him.
I only wish we saw more of the Basterds in action, but there is supposedly a prequel to be made, so I hope it does get made.
5 stars

I saw this today, and I have to agree here. Great movie. Even with not one but two guys answering and carrying on a full conversation with their cell phones and the couple with an IQ of 30 combined next to me leaving about 1/3 of the way through cause they weren't being bombarded by shiney things every 5 mins and got bored. I didn't care cause I had to pee and didn't want to walk past them anyway.
Still enjoyed it despite that, but I don't think it's a movie for everyone and I don't think it's Tarantino's best, and long at 2hrs 35 min, but still a great flick that I loved.

Yeah that's my one compliant. For it being a movie called The Inglorious Basterds, the Bastards felt like background characters and not the focus of the movie. I would have loved to have seen more of the Bastards "Killin' Nazis"
And somehow I don't think this movie historically accurate. LOL!

Go Hank Moody on cellphone talkers.
And the historical part is such BS that I see against it, but then honestly who's to say they didn't die. The Nazis never recovered and were known to use duplicates often, maybe a redneck did lead a bunch of Jews on a mission to destroy the high command and succeeded.

BON JERN O
My favorite thing ever uttered.

All I know is I want a Giant Jack Boot Glass now.

I need to see this, but even the damn matinee prices are astronomical these days.

I think Kary came to that scene.

Agreed, it was totally worth it.

She's not the only one.

Inglourious Basterds. Apparently, with the British flourish of another 'u', much like the 'u' in your cum. Or like, whatever. Running time sounds quite long... like something I need a fast forward button for.
-
Time passed quickly. I didn't even notice the length, especially with the Jew Hunter was on screen.
-
Yeah...you didn't feel the run time. It was a pretty quick 2 and half hours.
-
It moved extremely well, I can only think of maybe one part where I w . . no, I can't even think of one.
-
I....really didn't like it that much.
It was better than District 9, but really is this what Summer 09 has to offer?
Wake me when Surrogates comes out.

Surrogates is gonna be shit.
-
Never heard of it.
-
Shit, or THE shit?
Nuri, It's a movie with Bruce Willis, it's looks pretty much like a mindless sci-fi robot action movie and I like those...they heal me.
-
I don't expect it to be good. I hope I'm wrong because I like the concept, but I expect the execution to be less than par.

Was this a typical Tarantino movie, with people sitting around talking in snippy weird dialogue that skillfully incorporates "fuck" a lot, and then something really violent happens and they all go, "whoa"?

Yeah, fuck yeah.

There's really nothing wrong with that, but no one goes no. They react to the violent thing by picking up machine guns and killing those fleeing.

 I'm with you there. I don't know about you but once I got over the violence, they become kinda yawn-inducing actually.
-
This movie was good. Could have used more basterd time though.
"Once you get over the ______ they kinda become yawn inducing..." is a statement that could be said of anyone's films I suppose.
It sucks when everything sucks, doesn't it.
-
Everything doesn't suck. Neither do I think that statement applies to everything. Something can lose shock value for you and not necessarily become boring as a result.
