This man should be respected not only for the Les Paul guitar, but for hard-body electric guitars PERIOD. Pretty smart guy.

Multi-track recording FTW.  He is directly responsible for the recording industry as we know it.  Plus, a darn fine picker.  My mother was a fan of his in her younger days.  And he had been playing weekly shows in a jazz hall for the past twelve years, so he's kept active at his craft.

Word! Everyone that has ever played a hard body electric guitar, which is pretty much everyone that plays, owes him big time.
