Title: Wow, Master Splinter really broke the bank on these Halloween costumes.
Post by: B E C K on Jul 27, 2009, 03:27:36 PM
Oh, no, wait, he was just being cheap.  "Here are four sheets, my sons."

On second thought, maybe they spent all of the costume money on that huge-ass pumpkin.

I didn't even know Ninja Turtles were still on? Maybe it's not since that is from 07.

This was the "new" TMNT show.

Keyword being "were".  The past season was the last one, although Mirage is working on an animated special that's supposed to commerate TMNT's anniversary.

It is kinda shocking that the Turtles 25th is coming and going and there hasn't been much fuss made about it.

Walk down the Walmart toy aisle sometime.

I do. All the time. More now out of habit really then want for looking for something. But there isn't anything turtles related there at all. Now i know this could be because my Wal-Mart sucks balls. And lack of product might be the point you were trying to make, I don't know.

Now Target had "some" stuff, but not much..and it was all clearanced out awhile back.

Last time I was there, they had reissues of the original action figures on the shelves.  And a lot of them, at that.  I thought about buying a couple, but they didn't have the ones I really wanted and after looking closely at some of them, they really showed their age (the April O'Neal figure was absolutely terrible).

Hey, there's a website:  http://www.tmnt25.com/

They had a open casting call but it already passed.  Now I can't goad IDE into going.  :(

In their Wallpaper section, they tried to copy retro turtles and failed.  The proportions are wrong.  The heads are too big and Mikey and Don look like they're in dire need of the little turtle's room.  http://www.tmnt25.com/shellebration/wallpaper.html

Target had some of those, but they only had the four Turtles and they ended up in the clearance aisle about three months after they put them out and that was all I saw.

I'm not really a martial artist anyway.  I have a mid level belt in Tang Soo Do, but all of my fighting techniques were tried and tested on live subjects in and outside of bars in the greater tallahassee area.

I don't think TMNT has ever been a stickler for martial arts authenicity.  I imagine being able to punch, kick, and yell like a mutherfucka was probably the extent of it.

Halloween is one the few Holidays I willing celebrate. The only other being 4th of July. Thanksgiving and Christmas I am forced to do and I just try to make the best of them...I fail, but I try.

I actually meant to celebrate Halloween last year and forgot.  Yeah, that's what usually happens with most things.  I didn't even realize my birthday was this week until the board told me so.

Of COURSE Splinter would cheap out.  Don't forget, he originally had the baby turtles staying in an old coffee can.

True, true.  Which reiterates the fact that he's broke.

IDE needs to try out for a kid's show so he can get an action figure. I think they should revive Los Luchadores with him as Lobo Fuerte.
