Ha..I didn't know that either. Man I havn't seen that movie in forever. Kinda gettin an urge to watch it now. Along with that "The Hidden" from the other thread. Reading up on it made me want to see it.

I watched it a few weeks ago, and with the exception of the fake heads (the woman suit, Arnie's head as he pulled the bug out of his nose, and the Mars suffocation closeups) I think the movie holds up well from a technological POV.

That woman's head thing looked bad even for late 80s. Even as a kid I was like "That looks fake." And that was before I was spoiled,then overstatured to the point where I miss OG effects, with CGI.

I liked the fake heads. Well, okay, not the woman head so much. Actually I didn't get the whole costume and didn't see how he could even pass for a woman. But that's scene's over quickly and the head explodes, so I guess I just forgave it.

You know what ruined it for me wasn't some much the Chick's head, but that really fake looking Arnie one under it. Worse then the one that they used for the "eye removal" sequence in Terminator.

I was reading about how they want to remake Robocop. These franchises are like zombies now. Inevitably, someone's gonna actually do it right but I think for now we're gonna suffer through a string of crap to get there.
Not really related, but I was reading about a Robin Hood film in the works starring Russell Crowe. This just made me roll my eyes. Forget that RH's a bit tiring, but Crowe as title character? I figured he'd be better as the Sheriff of Nottingham. Turns out he WAS going to be the Sheriff of Nottingham in an interesting twist on the Robin Hood myth.... until they changed it to regular bland Robin Hood starring Crowe as Robin Hood. BOO. I would've actually been excited to see the earlier concept. Now we're back to a vanilla mis-casted Robin Hood movie. And this sack of crap is actually gonna be directed by Ridley Scott. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robin_Hood_(2010_film)) Sir, you disappoint me.

Sounds like they are still trying to cash in on Gladiator gold with the Crowe/Scott combo. But Costner will always be Hood to me. I mean he was so convincing as an Englishman.
You know they shold remake Blade Runner and in a ironic twist ask Ridley Scott to direct it.

The only way to redo that to the current industry's satisfaction would be to just make a completely different movie with the words "Blade Runner" in the title. But that's redundant since they more or less do that already.
But, meh, I'm still bitter. Crowe would be a *perfect* Sheriff of Nottingham. I never saw Costner RH, though I think Merla suffered through most of that. Cary Elwes will always be Robin Hood to me.
I'm not being sarcastic either. It's either him or Daffy Duck.

"Total Recall" was resurrected for remake earlier this year by the studio and producer Neal Moritz and his Original Films banner.
Should be rennamed "Fuck a Corpse Films".

Captain Blood was a classic, though my favorite Flynn movie was probably The Private Lives of Elisabeth and Essex.
