:fingershake:
Media Hype and complete bullshit. Boo Media.

I was actually sick during the height of this scare. I ended up going to the doctor with a cough, pain in the back and chest, and no energy and they gave me my own private quarantined waiting room. I was just worried I might have pneumonia, they thought I was carrying the plague.
-
I was scratched by a cat and worried that I had FELINE FLU!
-
Eddie was aching like crazy all day yesterday and coughing; fine today. I think he slept pretzled around one of the dogs wrong.

All you need to know about it. (http://randomfunnypicture.com/submit/fixed/?id=1335)

So much for my secondary medical practice. Eddie had a temp of 101 last night with aches & deep hacking cough. Off to the doc he goes this morning. If it's flu, we're not particularly concerned about what flavor it is, but if swine, he might be able to circumnavigate the company's shitty sick leave of 5 days a year. "Sure, I'll come in - how many departments do you want infected?" :D

It originates from bad dramas? Time to clense Hollywood.

I thought it was funny that the people that need to stay home the most (like the people that handle your food) are the ones who are least able to.
The media scare stuff is whack. When I started seeing swine flu stuff everywhere, I thought it was serious. It's just a regular flu? Really? Shit! I like the signs posted everywhere on campus telling people to wash their hands. You filthy assholes should be doing that already! I mean, really, you bitches need a sign?
-
Talk about hysteria - if Eddie's flu is porcine in nature, management wants me to stay home next week whether I feel bad or not. WIN!!! :raiseroof:
-
Just bring in bacon and start eating it like crazy. If they ask why, start coughing. Home office? Yes.
-
Bacon? Who are you talking to here? If anything, us getting swine flu would be absolute proof that pork products are NOT a source of infection. I think he picked it up when we went to the hospital to see his mother. ICU was way off in some odd corner and we got lost and got in & out of various elevators 7-8 times. Not like they sanatize the buttons. :sars:

I don't have TV right now and still don't know or care about whatever this is.
Being raised on nectar and ambrosia I'm probably immune anyway.

Famous last words. SKY IS FALLING!

Your blood is probably the cure.

Guess we have to cut and drain him to see.

If it is, I'm buying his plane ticket to Houston. I'm tired. 4 days of Eddie's fever going down to 99, up to 102. Down, up, down, up, set the alarm for midnight, 2 & 4 am for the damn pills....
Well, everybody was wrong! Just got back from the emergency room where Eddie was admitted with 104 fever - viral bronchitis. IV, oxygen, bronchial dialators, the whole works. On an inhaler & steroids, no work for the rest of the week and no hockey for him for quite a while. Moral of the story - if you ain't getting better, go back to the doctor and RAISE HELL!! :rawr:
-
Something weird happened to me awhile ago when I bitten by a tick that involved a couple days of fever going up and down.
Unfortunately for me the I give insects super powers, not the other way around.
-
So that's where the Tick came from.... :o
The ER doc was fulla shit. Eddie is in the hospital right now, getting an oxygen treatment and IV antibiotics. Relieved by his finally seeing someone who knows what he's doing, I will get my first night's sleep since May 21st. He's down to under 150 lbs. - not real good when one is 6' - but helped by his first experience with 1000 mg. of Vicodin, he actually ate. Maybe it's just this hospital, but that was a damn good spread - grilled cheese sammich, wild rice, grilled mixed veggies, orange slices, salad, sweet potatoes. No watery gruel there.
And I thought not having kids would exclude me from this sleepless night ER & hospital crap. On the plus side, if there is one, his brother will actually have to lift a finger to care for their mother and my skinny jeans are now my loose jeans. :nuriyes:
-
Sometimes I think going to the hospital is one big Darwinesque test.
-
If I had an accident I would not go to the ER where I'm doing clinicals right now. You just don't know who's on call, and some of those guys I'd prefer to avoid.
-
I picked up še H1N1 in še week after DragonCon weekend. It kinda sucked. I ended up doing a biking/climbing competition še following weekend wiž a fever of 103. Explain why I was feeling so weak.
-
You should have sweated it out then, right? Right? No?
There are some areas where it is a big scare, mostly where children or old people are involved. The rest of us from tweens to middle age are gonna likely be just fine.
If I had kids and there was a swine flue scare, I don't know what I would do. FFFFUUU
-
Fuck the swine flu shot yo. Docs gave me a ""normal"" flu shot on Monday kind of against my will, I ain't getting the swine flu one, that's for sure >:o
-
I probably won't ever get a flu shot again.
-
H1N1's a bitch because people have no real resistance built up to it yet. But it's no worse than regular non-swine flu as far as what it does to you. It's just more likely to be caught.
-
Best way to get the flu is to get a flu shot.

Ehm its a new shot that the gov't is trying to push on us. Did you hear what happen with the original flu shot? Some of they (and/or their unborn kids) developed the Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) and some other died. So screw that. Since I'm in the "high risk" category i KNOW I'm going to be bothered to no extent to get it, but I'm not doing it, no sire!
-
I'm trying to figure out why you quoted me, as I didn't say anything about a flu or swine flu shot...neither of which I'm getting.
-
It's good to have Faye back ain't it?
-
Yes, yes. Good times, friends. Good times.
-
I'm lost :-(
Anyways this was the first time in my life i got the flu shot and was a pleasant experience
-
I should get a flu shot, considering I'll be flying 6 more times before this year is over.
-
Out of a cannon? :)
-
Make sure to pack your cape.
-
Or your winged hat.
