"According to research, those who download 'free' music are also the industry's largest audience for digital sales." (http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2009/apr/21/study-finds-pirates-buy-more-music)
True or not, you think?

Isn't a music shopping spree part of the September 19th celebration?
-
I haven't bought music since... well I can't remember. I never really bought music, though. I recorded it off the radio or always copied my friend's music.

Well Pirates do spend long times at sea, so I'd imagine they'd need a lot of music on their iPod to get by. Besides "Blow the Man Down" gets old after awhile. Sometimes you just want some Thompson Twins.

From the few ppl I've talked to, it seems people who have digital music but don't buy it aren't prediposed to buying music in the first place (like Tom) or they're CD junkies who want their own physical copy.
I buy two kinds of music: (1) ppl I really like and want to support or (2) stuff I can't find anywhere else. Sometimes I'll also buy (3) stuff I want NOW and can get instantly through purchasing it rather than searching up and down for it.

I tend to like to have stuff in hand rather then download, and I'm picky about it as I don't like to buy albums until I've heard and like at least three song off of it. That tends to keep my music collection small even though I have much larger music tastes.

Isn't that also because you still have dial-up? Or do you have access to a faster connection now?

Well I could have faster internet if I was willing to pay somone 700 bucks to come out and hook it all up, and then 70 dollars a month on top of that. But I won't do that cause if I let someone bend me over a barrel they're going to be paying me...not the other way around. Little mad about that if you can't tell.
But really if I didn't have dial up I don't really know how much my buying habits would change. It's the same why I won't download digital books as I like to actually have the book. I mean I might pick up a tune here or there from a band I only like one song from...Like "Miss Murder" by AFI or Fall Out Boy's cover of "Beat It" but I doubt it would ever be my main source of music. Course all the Music Shops around here are closing up leaving me with Wal-Mart and Target and they have about Jack and Shit if it's not on the top 40. So I might have to go that route like it or not.

700 bucks? Does a fucking diamond come with that?
-
I wish. If I paid out 700 and 70 bucks a month (7 times what I currently pay for shitty dial up) then I better get like the whole Lawnmowever man VR experince when I log on. Sadly it'd just be like everyone elses High Speed except they wouldn't be getting raped since they live someplace civilized.
