...but he lived across the street with his mom and brother.
Man dies from injuries sustained during wreck. (http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/traffic/Man_dies_after_Sunday_wreck.html)
We didn't even know he had died until Friday when my mom recognized his picture from the obits. I remember seeing the wreck on the news and it looked pretty bad from what I recall. I wonder how much that seatbelt could have really saved him.

I think stories like this should convince people to wear their fricking seatbelts. It seems every traffic fatality I read says "person was not wearing seatbelt, was ejected, died."
-
I think I should be nigh invulnerable and go on mad killing sprees every time I get rejected. Afterward, I'll have to atone for it by doing tasks for Hera.
-
Hera Johnson that lives down on Spring Tree Lane? Oh she is a darling, and I'm sure she'll have lots for you to do. Weed the garden, take the Christmas Lights down, fix that hole in the fence that the neighors dog keeps using to come in her yard and makes poopie. Plenty for you to do...you know since Carl died don't-cha-know.
-
She probably has ten dozen bags of Wuther's Originals.

Yeah, I really don't know what the hell the deal is. How many times do people need to die this way before it sinks in?
-
I nagged my boyfriend the other day as we were leaving a gas station on our way to get pizza because he didn't have a seatbelt on. He did the whole "I'm not driving that far!" deal, but then obliged after I glared - I mean, reasoned with him.
-
Our neighbor was killed less than a mile from home. You're more like to die close to home than on long trips.
-
Do you know why? Because people don't buckle up on those trips.

That's quite the deductive reasoning there. Gold star for you!

It's true. My cousin's gf's sister (sounds long, but I went to HS with her) was travelling from her apt to her parent's house, a meer 3 miles away, and was killed by hitting a guy and her body ejecting outward. Had she worn a seatbelt it would have only been slight whiplash like her fiance suffered. Now she's a rotting skeleton, all because she didn't click it.
-
And yet another reason of why I don't drive.
-
You don't have to drive to be ejected out of the window.

Chelsey's glare... it can destroy worlds!

Some kid I used to play with in grade school grew up to start an internets empire and take on microsoft. Then he didn't buckle up one day and now he's dead.
Never fuck with microsoft.
-
I didn't used to buckle up, but I just made it a point to start doing it. Now it's as unconscious a habit as locking the door.

I always seatbelt up. I feel naked in a car without a seatbelt. VERY Uncomfortable.
-
Sometimes I feel naked in the car too...but that cause I usually am in fact naked. And I really shouldn't have got the leather seats.
-
Leather seats are only nice if they have seat warmers.

Yeah, Merla and I were meticulously trained to buckle up. The only times I haven't worn a seatbelt were a couple of times where (1) I was in a car with a bunch of cousins when I was little and there were no more seatbelts and (2) the few times where I really didn't care and found it perfectly acceptable that there was a possibility I would be thrown out of the car like an angry, flying puppet tired of being violated by a fist.
