Title: Read "Deathly Hollows"
Post by: The D on Mar 30, 2008, 01:31:45 PM
Third topic!

NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH!!!

*ahem*

I'm irked about the deaths in this book. Rowling's a bloodthirsty bitch. The owl was one thing because I was expecting it, but when a certain house elf died, I was kinda in shock for a while, because I really liked that character. And then she had to wack off a bunch more characters I liked. :( The deaths of a certain married couple was rather depressing for me. I was gloomy the whole day.

Also, I am seriously disappointed in Harry's lack of faith in Dumbledore. Albus is human just like the rest of us, and just because he made mistakes in his past (which were misrepresented by a tabloid reporter, which should have been Harry's first clue not to believe all he heard) doesn't mean he's redeemed himself in the present, or that he's changed and become a better person in his old age. Considering all the good things he's done in the books, Harry should have never doubted him.

Also, I was hoping for a more epic duel between Harry and Voldy.

Now the books are over. I feel so... empty.

Welcome to last year.  =p

Deaths, copied and pasted from an entry in Wikipedia and sorted by date with cited page number by some nerd:
Quote
26 July - Charity Burbage, Professor of Muggle Studies at Hogwarts, killed by Voldemort at Malfoy Manor, after which her body was fed to Nagini.[117]
27 July- Hedwig, hit by a stray Killing Curse as Harry and Hagrid escape Privet Drive.[71]
27 July - Alastor 'Mad-Eye' Moody, as The Order of The Phoenix escape Privet Drive. Mad-Eye Moody is killed by Voldemort himself, after Mundungus Fletcher Disapparates away.[72]
1 August - Rufus Scrimgeour, killed to complete the fall of the Ministry into Voldemort's hands, possibly after being tortured for information as to Harry's whereabouts, which he did not reveal.[74]
2 September - Gregorovitch, murdered by Voldemort in his quest to locate the Elder Wand.[75]
Bathilda Bagshot, murdered (presumably by Voldemort).
March - Gellert Grindelwald, murdered by Voldemort in his quest to locate the Elder Wand.[75]
5 March - Dirk Cresswell and Ted Tonks, captured on the run from the ministry and killed by Death Eaters. [118]
7 March - Peter Pettigrew, strangled to death by the silver hand Voldemort had given him, after showing Harry a brief second of remorse.[119]
7 March - Dobby, the Free Elf, killed by a knife thrown by Bellatrix Lestrange.[119]
1 May - Vincent Crabbe, consumed by the fiendfyre he conjured in the Room of Requirement, while in its "hidden objects" state.[120]
1 May - Severus Snape, bitten by the snake Nagini in the Shrieking Shack at the command of Voldemort, in the false belief that it would transfer the powet of the Elder Wand to him.[121]
2 May - Fred Weasley, killed during the battle of Hogwarts.
2 May - Remus Lupin, Nymphadora Tonks, killed during the battle by Antonin Dolohov and Bellatrix Lestrange, respectively[122]. Their deaths are not actually shown, but an Avada Kedavra curse can be presumed, as both bodies are seen to be "peaceful-looking". However, it is possible that Remus's death could have been caused by Dolohov's own curse which he used on Hermione in OOTP, we are not sure which. If it was Dolohov's curse, this time he probably used the incantation to make the curse even worse.[67]
2 May - Colin Creevey, killed during the battle. Unknown cause.[67]
2 May - Harry Potter is struck by the Killing Curse cast by Lord Voldemort: he does not die, but enters a state between life and death; he is offered the choice of living on or dying, he chooses life. The same happens to Voldemort because of the protection of Lily that runs through his veins [123]
2 May - Nagini, decapitated with the sword of Godric Gryffindor, wielded by Neville Longbottom.
2 May - Fifty unnamed dead out of those who fought at Hogwarts.
2 May - Bellatrix Lestrange is defeated by Molly Weasley.
2 May - Lord Voldemort himself, killed by his own rebounded Avada Kedavra curse. Lord Voldemort had planned to kill Draco Malfoy in false believe it would transfer the Elder Wand to him, but he was killed. [124]

He ate some Weasley prank candy and exploded like Mr. Creosote in "The Meaning of Life".  Petunia went mad from the mess.
