This was a result of my own stupidity, but I was updating my iPod at the school and this black guy asks to borrow my iPod cable so he can put some stuff on his iPod. I loan it to him and then return to working, and then, because I needed to get to an appointment on time and was running late, I ran out without my cable.
A quick walk to the lost and found turned up nothing. He could have dropped it off there when he was done.
I can't believe people actually steal accessories to a overhyped, shitty music player. "OMG I HAS IPOD CABLE. I HAS IPOD EARBUDS. I HAS IPOD RUBBER COVER"

You gave it to him and walked away. I don't think it occurs to a lot of people to go find a lost and found, even though that would've been the right thing to do. He was probably holding your cord and going all "FTW? Where'd that little white pedo go?" Most people don't want to go through the work of returning an item, especially since there's this lingering mistrust that people in lost and found could very well keep the item and never return it. Which adds something else: What if he returned it to the front desk or lost and found or something and THOSE people kept it?

Why not? iPods are so popular and millions of people love them. Why wouldn't they want an extra cable or earbuds? I'd understand your argument if it was a cable to some specific niche device that almost no one used that only worked with that particular item, but an iPod cable? What iPod owner wouldn't want an extra cable? Come on. Don't be silly.
Anyway, that's beside the point....

My coworker gave my other coworker his ipod cable and somehow he left it in Costa Rica haha!
