Over X-mas, I was talking with my cousin about how much better I liked BSG over 24 (which he loves) and he asked me if it was my favorite show. And I answered that it was now. So he asked what my favorite show overall was and at the time I didn't have an answer, and I've been giving it a lot of thought since then. I mean I could go with a show like the A-Team or Cheers that grew up with. Or a cult short run show like Ned and Stacy or Titus. Then of course I could pick a modern fav like BSG. But I didn't end up going with any of those cause I thought it should be a show that if I hadn't watched it I might have been different person for not doing watching it. When I kept that in mind there was only one show that really stood out. So I made my choice of my favorite TV show of all time....
Mystery Science Theater 3000.
So what about you guys? What TV show is your all time Favorite?
-
Including cartoons?
-
Lost has really got me, especially when rewatching the DVDs. Alot is definately lost when watching it hour by hour.
SG-1 maybe, but it turned sour at the end.
-
M*A*S*H. Love it.
-
Compensating for nostalgia for my younger years (which would probably bump Animaniacs or Duck Tales to the top of the list)...dammit, nothing I can come up seems to be worthy of the title of "favorite". I'll have to come back to this topic after I've thought of it a bit more.

You know, I had this long-winded post prepared about all of these different shows but it just occurred to me. Rock Star. As in Rock Star: INXS (season one) and Rock Star: Supernova (season two). Watching Rock Star always made my week and introduced me to several artists that I still follow and listen to. And they reminded me how much I love music. The vast majority of the performances are still watchable to this day. Jordis performing Baba O'Reily is still fresh in mind as this iconic moment. I still listen to "When The Time Comes" by Magni on a near daily basis. I should kick myself for having a reality show as my favorite but it seems my favorite cartoon keeps changing every three years or so and on the whole, I don't appear to like scripted live-action that much for any of those shows to be my favorite.

Six Feet Under. Yea, I'm morbid.
-
Including cartoons?
Yeah...anything.
-
Probably a tie between The Real Ghost Busters and the Dungeons and Dragons cartoon...today anyway.
-
Sex and the City before; Arrested Development now
-
I'm actually a little surprised that my show is the most obscure. From this group I was sure there would be some far out there shows, but I've actually heard of all of these show and seen all of them by "Rock Star" which I skipped because I just can't bring myself to watch most reality shows.
-
Were you expecting someone to bust out Small Wonder or something?
-
Well.....yeah. I was expecting to go "I've never heard of that show" which would lead to a long explaination of the plot and what channel it was on, but nope.....nothing.
-
I like Mystery Science Theater, but I haven't seen it in years. I don't even know what channel shows it
-
No Channel shows it now. It was on and Minn. Public Access Channel, then Comedy Central and then moved to Sci-Fi channel. It was taken off the air in 2004, but it officially ended its run on Aug. 8th 1999.... Even though a lost episode was shown in Sept. It then went into reruns for the next 5 years before being removed from the line up completely. I really wish someone would buy the rights to it..I'd love to see it on TV again.
I have a few episodes on DVD, both fan made and offically released, but it's only a fraction of what is out there. I wish I owned more, but there are 198 out there.
But the real question is....Did you like Joel or Mike better?
-
On further review, I'm going to have to turn to HBO for my favorite. I do believe Deadwood has pushed its way to the top for me in the past few years.
Re: MST3K
I've been watching it since the Minnesota days (it aired here in Wisconsin at 2 AMish on some high channel), but I think the Mike years flowed better for me.
-
Wish I could have seen it then. I didn't get into it till Season 2 on CC.

They were like 2 robots right? I don't remember, I must have watched it in like 2001
-
There were actually 4 Robots, but only two made fun of the movie; Crow T. Robot, and Tom Servo. What I meant was there were two "Human" host that made fun of the movie over it's 11 year run. The first was Joel, who was then replaced with Mike. If you saw it in 2001 and it was more then likely on the Sci-Fi channel (unless you saw it on Tape) and thus was a Mike episodes.

It'd be a tie between The Benny Hill Show and Evangelion.
-
There's two shows I never expected to be tied for anything.
-
I never liked evangelion.
-
But I always liked the Benny Hill Show.
-
I thought I didn't like Eva. Then I thought I was wrong. But then it turned out I was right.
-
I liked eva. I'd never consider it a favorite though.
-
The Shield is pretty badass as well.
-
Evangelion was so fucked up. Actually, the movie was even moooore fucked up. Loved it.
-
The series ending was better than the movie's. Can't wait to see the new ones!
-
Damn - MST3K (Mike!)? Brit "Whose Line Is It Anyway"? Throw in Eddie's vote for various incarnations of Doctor Who? :-\
I need comfort and security right now. I want reruns of The Friendly Giant! :tantrum:

Confuse me? NEW ones??? what when how?
-
M*A*S*H. With Batman:TAS (Season 1-3) a close second....In fact:
1: M*A*S*H
2: Batman TAS
3: Wonderfalls
4: DS9
5: Titus
Dun dun Dududun...We're bobbing along in our baarreeellll...some of us tip right over the edge....But there's one thing really mystifying....it's got me living it's got me trying....All my life I'll be death defying till I know.....I wonder wonder wonder why the wonder falls......
AND I REMEMBERED THAT WITHOUT LOOKING IT UP...
-
I watched one episode of Titus, and it broke my face. But the next time I thought about watching it, it'd been cancelled.
Confuse me? NEW ones??? what when how?
Yeah, they're doing four new "Rebuild of Evangelion" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rebuild_of_Evangelion) movies. They're specifically being made to make the series more understandable and update some parts that they felt wasn't up to snuff and wanted to retcon. The first one came out last year, but it hasn't been picked up this side of the Pacific yet.
-
Do you know if its been fan subbed?
-
Google?
-
Can't wait to see those new Eva movies...
-

It was a shame that it got canceled. It was one the few shows that actually made me laugh out loud every time I watched it.
-
Do you know if its been fan subbed?
No, I don't, but AFAIK it's only seen a theatrical release thus far and the only way anyone could distribute it online would be based on a cam movie. It's certainly possible, but I don't think it's likely that it'd be worth watching if there is one.
Japan gets the DVD sometime in late April or May, from what I can tell...fansub possibilities should really open up around that time. I've read rumors that Funimation is most likely to have procured the license, which means that most of the original VA group should be available to dub for it.
-
Oh then I'll wait for the dub cause thats what I watched first.
-
It's got me laughing, it's got me crying...
