Round up the posse, it's time to go hunting.
Last night I left work and got out to the parking lot to find my rear driver's side window shattered. Missing was my backpack filled with about $200 worth of almost new climbing equipment. This in itself would be enough to send me into blind rage, what with all the hassle of dealing with insurance, contacting the police, replacing the quipment, etc...
But also in that backpack was a notebook that had creative shit (sketches, writing, notes, etc.) spanning more than 10 years. I've often contemplated the concept of infinity - last night I think I finally understood. That was how much anger filled me.
This morning it has cooled to a cold desire for revenge.

Oh man I know how you feel. I lost the video of me banging some 19yr old that was on my lap top when my car got broken into. Now all I have is that animated .gif with 3 frames of it.
Seriously though, that really sucks man I have a little cigar box full of paper scraps that serves that purpose and it would be pretty devastating to lose it.
You have my sword.

And you have my axe.

....Ok, so I really don't have an axe, but I'm sure I can just run the guy over for you. Random killing is the way I get into the Christmas Spirit.

I still think the parking lot should pay for your stuff

Can I ask why that backpack with 200$ worth of stuff was in the backseat? Were you going climbing later?
I really feel for you losing your notebook. I've always thought if there was a fire in the house, my fear after losing my family and cats would be losing my notes and drawings.
Nothing like X-mas to bring out the thief in people. Shit.

I had gone climbing the night before and forgot to take it out of the backseat when I got home.
But seriously: who sees a fucking climbing harness (which was sticking out of the wide open pack) and thinks "Well shit, I need to break this window and take THAT."
-
Maybe a would-be daredevil needing that one little push towards a lifetime of excitement?
-
I can totally picture some asshat being all "heeeeey, what is that" and breaking into your car and taking it, knowing it had monetary value but not really grasping what the fuck it was.
-
Or thinking it was S & M gear.
That's infuriating, Sam. Eddie doesn't even bother to put his car stereo face in during Xmas for fear that he'll be in a hurry and come back to your scenario.
If you want random revenge, box up the contents of a dirty cat box, do a primo giftwrap job on it and leave it in the car before the window is fixed. Someone will swipe it within 10 minutes.

Maybe they were conducting a heist later on the local museum and just happened upon your climbing gear.
