We've been spared the massive flooding of Ohio and other places, but not the rain.
Last weekend it rained almost constantly from Friday to Monday. Everything from overcast to sprinkles to a few showers here and there. Mostly it just sprinkled all day. I think the middle of Saturday was the only time the sun came out. A local festival was shut down the last day because of the rain.
Then every single day we had rain at least part of the day. Wed it rained in the morning and afternoon. Thursday it rained during the morning, stopped for the afternoon, then a storm rolled through.
The worst was last night. I look out the windows from school and see this dark mass of clouds, almost completely black, heading at us, with lots and lots of lightning. The school had us take shelter deep in the building with a TV tuned to local station. Our county fared better than some, 3-5 tornados were reported, and there was flooding in some areas.
And to add insult to injury, it's sprinkling and raining right now.

Six confirmed tornadoes in southeast Michigan.
One of the more highly populated areas hit by the tornadoes was Fenton. A tornado that began in Livingston County's Cohoctah Township struck the southern Genesee County community as it moved along a 26-mile path, damaging at least 250 homes and businesses, the weather service said.
"Fenton sustained the greatest amount of damage where the tornado path widened to approximately one-quarter mile — including the snapping and uprooting of hundreds of trees," the weather service said in a statement.
The tornado that touched down near Charlotte and ended near Potterville in Eaton County generated winds approaching 140 mph, making it Michigan's strongest tornado in 10 years, the weather service said.

I have relatives in Fenton. The town's just south of Flint (Michael Moore's hometown). The relatives were shopping at Target when it came through and they took shelter there. Fenton also has a nice outlet mall, I hope that didn't get demolished.
One of the tornados, perhaps that one, was described on the news as being an F3.
I can't find any good pictures of the damage or flooding. I saw one house on the news that was a pile of wood. Also saw footage on local news of highways flooding and enormous traffic backups, and of course your idiots trying to drive through the water and getting stupidly stuck in the middle.

In an article about the Fenton tornado, but I think they just took a stock photo of generic tornado and posted it in the article.

The Tigers-Yankees game was delayed until 10pm and went 11 innings and 2-3 am. Tigers won. :3
And none of the tornados came too close to me, the closest I think was 15-20 miles or so.. :stickdance:

God had really let his aim slip...Oh well...he'll get you next time.

And hit my distant relatives on my dad's mom's side? I guess the Bible was right when it said that not only you would be punished, but all your relatives to the thousandth generation or something.

I can tell from that 2nd picture that this is no more mere weather disturbance.
The Traveller Returns....
-
It's Galactus from Rise of the Silver Surfer.
-
Gozer is cooler, but sadly since it is just a cloud it looks just like movie galactus. >.<

I had no idea what you meant when you said "Traveller". Should have been more specific and said Gozer the Distructor. We're not a bunch of Ghostbuster fanatics (except for Rama).
Oh, yea, someone ran past me once and claimed they were the Keymaster looking for some kind of sign or omen. Is this a bad sign?

When someone asks you if you're a god, you say.....YES!!!

I drove through Fenton last weekend, and didn't see any demolished houses (I may have been in the wrong location), but I did see some roof damage and some downed trees. A companion said he had gone through Fenton right after the storm and saw flipped over cars and downed trees all over.

I just had to drive twenty minutes to a different town to secret shop. It took me longer because it was raining so hard, that I had to pull over on the highway. My car was freaking out and I thought I was going to run out of gas so I nearly had a panic attack.
I hate hate driving in the rain.

Oooh, "a companion".
