This board is slow as hell lately... everyone must be busy with IRL stuff. Anything interesting happen lately?
I certainly had an interesting weekend.
Friday I went to a nearby art festival, a rather large one at that, and bought a wooden letter opener sharp enough to stab someone with, as well as two night photographs of urban areas. I also tested out a SmartCar (that tiny French car they drove in the DaVinci Code movie). As we were driving the car a siren sounded outside, and the dealer guy started freaking out and asking if it was a tornado. I told him that it was Michigan and we don't get hardly any tornados. He turns on the radio, and they were broadcasting a tornado warning, although the clouds didn't look dark enough for one. It rained heavily for a half hour though, and no twister touched down.
The SmartCar drives nice for a two seater, it has an automatic clutch and paddle shifters and accelerates well. But the muffler buzzes during acceleration, which I think is normal for something with such a tiny engine.
Friday I didn't do much besides beat Armored Core 3 and go back to the art festival to pick up one of my pieces.
Saturday morning I went to a Harry Potter fest at my university, where there was a magician/comedian, costumes, a guy in a hogwarts robe (who looked suspiciously like Percy) reading the first few chapters, and the HP movies on the school's theater (I watched Azkaban).
I then visited the opening of an Apple store nearby, where I previewed their iPhone. No it's not exactly worth it, except for the fact you can watch youtube videos on it, which is all I did there.
Sunday I went out on my mother's boyfriend's catamaran sailboat. This is a big one with a cabin big enough for a kitchenette, dining table, bathroom, and queen-sized bed. I got to sail it most of the time (it has a wooden steering wheel), and the whole time I spoke like a pirate... arr!
...oh yea, and I lost another USB drive. :keelover: At least I locked the important documents on this one.
Now that I've bored you with my life, make interesting topics dammit. :fingershake:

Erm....well, it's going to rain again this week....Eddie is putting a shitloaf of metal band concert shirts up on eBay....we're going to a gay water balloon battle on Saturday....
It's the mid-summer lull. Here, it's either too fucking hot to do anything or it's raining. Can't get anything done outside - even the dogs don't want to go out. No new movies, animes or books coming up that I'm jazzed about. No vacation time scheduled.
But hey, I'm going to the dentist next week! :happy: And my birthday is in 3 weeks.

Just being a hop, skip, jump and three hours away from Bernie, yeah it's been rainy here, too, not that I'd be going outside anyway. Work's been superslow, so I work one day a week until mid-August. I saw one of my cousins yesterday for the first time in what must've been several years. We're the same age and she said I looked "so young", and all I could think of was "yeah, well I don't have three kids" (which she does). They were nice kids btw, but they're all boys. Jeez louise.

Well, I went to Japan for less than a week and Vietnam for 2 weeks. I took a lot of pictures, and posted a couple on the main message board I go to, but nobody seemed to care there. Should I post them here?
After that, I went to Anime Expo 2007. Haruko Momoi of the now-defunct UNDER17 was a guest there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She did a mini-concert, a panel, and a main concert. :D
EDIT: Oh yeah, she also was a guest judge for the AX Idol event this year... it's kinda like American idol, except the finalists sing songs from anime/games, and also there are a separate set of finalists who compete for voice acting.
Here's a pic that she had taken of her on stage at the main concert... I was there, but all the way beyond to the right of the picture and farther back from the stage. :-\

Gay water balloon fight?
The concert yesterday that was named after me went fine, but we forgot that while driving through Detroit during rush hour (or any big city), you need to take your estimated travel time, and double, if not triple it. We got into too many backups that, once we got to the end of them, there was no accident or construction or anything to show why there was a slowdown in the first place. And then when I had her get off the highway and onto side streets, she still attempted to use the written directions in front of her. "It says here we have to get off at exit 21" "O.o We're not even on the highway dammit! Forget the instructions!" And then she asked people at fast food joints how to get to the concert, and most didn't even know where the concert was. Most men pretend to know how to get there and refuse to ask for directions. I don't ask for directions because I actually KNOW how to get there.

I need to go to some more modern concerts. They had a Three Days Grace/Breaking Benjamin/Puddle of Mud concert at that venue a few months ago... too bad I missed it. I've also always wanted to go to Ozzfest and the Family Values tour... one of these years I have to save up money for that.

Yeah, I've been bored, too, actually.
Japan was alright, but I didn't spend enough time there and not enough time in the right places... and I didn't really buy the stuff I wanted... But it was still worth it. I just want to go back again some time, preferably after I've gotten a good grip on the language.
Also, we went to Vietnam to visit my grandfather mostly, who supposedly had a stroke (but they can't find any blockage or bleeding) and is now lying naked in a small hospital room with 2 other patients. He can't talk, and we're not quite sure if he's aware of his surroundings... and he sleeps most of the time, or at least his eyes are closed and his breathing is labored (sometimes snoring, sometimes maybe not).
Well, I did get to meet one of my uncles and his son (who's older than me) again, and uh, I gave some gifts to two other cousins... yep.
I was hoping Transformers would be a rockin' summer movie, but it didn't meet my expectations. Spidey 3 sucked, too. :(
A goal I had this summer was to work on drawing and painting and stuff... but I haven't been doing that as much or as well as I've wanted... though I did work on two things last night that are turning out good.
Oh, and I spent 8 dollars to renew my Xbox 360 Live subscription for a month, and the only Live game I have is Gears of War... but I've found that I am bored of it now. 8| I guess I ought to try out some Live demos.
Well, on the bright side, I have lots of free time in these remaining weeks to uh, watch stuff that I've been meaning to... and practice art... and wait for two Momoi CDs that I ordered...

Gay water balloon fight?
A male couple we're friends with have an 18,000+ square foot back yard and hold a water balloon battle every summer - Eddie & me, one other het couple and about 50 guys of all ages. Big slip & slide, crab soccer with a giant exercise ball, food, food, food and rivers of alcohol to wash it down. This is presuming they can still hold it tomorrow with a 70% chance of rain - lots of tall lightning-drawing pine trees by the fence. :o Don't think we'll have any giant cardboard box mazes this year, either.

If there no rain, couldn't they just run around throwing dodge balls at each other and use the slip and side anyway?

I'm not sure how I lost the USB drive, but I noticed the backpack I used has some holes in the bottom of it.

Well, the holes aren't in the exact bottom, since that's plastic. They're in the corners in the main part of it. And they're too small for a book or a piece of paper to fall out of, but a pen (or a USB drive) can.
What do you expect, someone stole my nice backpack. I have to use this old holey one now.

You could've patched the holes up with tape. Sewn them shut. Stapled them shut. Gotten a pencil case and kept small items in there.

Good news, the backpack I had stolen, normally $30-40, is on sale for $7.

I wish I was high on something. I tried to roll over in my sleep last night with a 65-lb. dog on my leg and pulled my right hamstring. >.< I'd forgotten how much that HURTS!!! :goddammit: You may never hear me say "I wish I was driving an automatic" again, but going from the gas to the clutch hurts like a mofo. At least it's Friday.

My poor cat son is the one who get hurts. I forget that he's there until I roll or turn or something and he gets bumped in the head. :(

Only one of my cats ever sleeps on me, and that's on occassion. We haven't appeared to have hurt each other in the process yet.

My Calico doesn't ever sleep with me, mainly cause of the Schnauzer always does.

I just viewed the student films I was in. One of them was ok and the other is pretty funny...well everyone else thinks so...I'll submit it to some of you because I know you'll be critical.
In other news I'm dating my little 18 yr old now, even though she still doesn't know how old I am we're happy together...too bad I'm leaving for LA in a couple weeks. Still I'm glad that I leave this town like this, her paladin protector, instead of making a run on the freshman class. I feel that not sleeping with her friend when I had the chance shows that I've recovered some small shred of my capacity to l..lo...lurr...again.

My semi-boyfriend's dog farts a lot. It's usually when he's sleeping next to me in bed with his ass in my face. He poops a lot too, like more than a Boston Terrier probably should.

Eh...my short term memory is notoriously bad. If I didn't deem it important enough on an unconsious level to store in long term, it's usually gone within a few hours. If it does make it into longterm, however, I'll remember it for years to come.

I retain particular things in my memory. They usually have to have something I note as a quirk of some sort to be keepable, so if I want to keep a piece of information I might forget I have to attach something strange to the memory. In statistics, we went over Chebyshev's theorem and Empirical rule that both state percentages of data that fall into particular categories of deviation from the mean (of the data values) dependant on the distribution and I retained most of it by calling the theorem the "Chevy Chase theorem". Stupid, but now I'll remember it more or less forever. Or to give you another one, we have a type of plant in our front yard and I always forget the name. They're lantanas so I started calling them "Carlos Lantanas" and now I always rememeber.
But I get old ppl's memory a bunch. I'll go to my room for a pen and do twelve other things in ten minutes and then get distracted and forget completely. So I have to go back to what I was doing until I go to write something and realize I still need the pen I was suppose to get from my room.

My OPM has gotten better, but I think it's because we're finally done with most of the interior renovations, so there aren't distracting half-projects sitting around or worse, being frolicked through by cats so every foray into a room means having to stop and pick shit up.
