We now have fucking lunch schedules at work like were are fucking pre-schoolers. Before we could take our lunch whenever we wanted as long as those who arrived before us had taken theirs. I liked this flexiblity. This summer one of my co-workers became full-time and apparently doesn't fucking know how to manage her fucking time and take others into account. She doesn't mind her work schdule or that of others. Last week she waited too late to take her lunch so I had to wait later than ususal. One day this week she complained because she was suppose to take her lunch before 1 and didn't and got yelled at by the boss. Another co-worker had the whole week off, I was schduled to leave early that day, and the other woman working the desk is only part-time and leaves at 1. Bitchy co-worker started crying and threw fit, hence we are now on fucking lunch schedules. This pisses me off to no end. Why does someone have to always ruin everything for everyone else.
-
They always do.
-
I'm reminded of teachers telling us why we couldn't chew gum in middle school.
-
People are inconsiderate assholes. Welcome to the cruel mean world.
-
It was so easy to spit it in the trash. There was a trach can in every class room! Or they could've wrapped it up in a piece of paper and thrown it on the floor. I'm certain the janitor would rather sweep up a paper ball then have to scrape it off the damn desk. Whyyyyyyyyy!!!? *wails*
-
Because.
People don't care.
...about anyone but themselves, that is.
-

I'm reminded of how we had to wait for the other kid to come back with the bathroom pass. God forbid they'd let TWO kids out of the classroom at once.
And yes, coworkers ruin everything.
-
Well they have to be careful. They might be going off to fornicate! Buckets for everyone.

This must be Annoying Co-Worker Week.
Flashback to yesterday: I'm on hold with a mortgage company trying to find out if a client's windstorm premium has been mailed since the policy expires next week; co-worker is at lunch. Her phone rings. Since she is at lunch, she put the phone on Do Not Disturb, sending all calls directly to voice mail.
They hang up after the first ring. Number pops up again immediately. And again. And again. And AGAIN! Over and over; ring, hang up, ring....
I'm listening to Kenny G on the hold music getting worried. Has someone been in a wreck? A death in the family? No one else is in a nearby office to come answer her phone and see what the hell is going on - do I hang up on the rep after I navigated through 7 minutes of voice mail hell to get to a human?
Finally the calls cease. CW returns, and I tell her about the calls, reciting what I remembered of the number.
"Oh, yeah - it was my kids. They're at my mom's and they're bored. They called my cell."
Yeah, after ding-donging you here about 20 times and scaring the crap outta me! :goddammit:
-
Goddamn, and they're allowed to do that shit? JFK// Retaaaaahd-ed! //JFK
-
I fucking hate personal calls at work. Especially since I work in a restaurant and we don't normally have time to sit and chat on our phones (well, ideally we shouldn't).
-
Goddamn, and they're allowed to do that shit?
I sure don't get it. If we had called our mom at work or even interrupted her while she was on the phone at home, something had better have been bleeding or on fire.
-
At least you guys have time for lunch! i NEVER have time to lunch, I just work 10-plus hours. Ahh the joy of corporation slavery.
-
And how much you pulling down a week? I bet it's more then most of us.
-
You know you're making good money when there's no time to eat. Well that or you're being abused, but until you get over the initial denial you're still excited.
-
Ahh the joy of corporation slavery.
Been there. Welcome to the dues-paying phase! :poo:

hmmm...i might have to stop working in a couple of weeks , and i dont know how much will my boss like that. i might be unemployed in less than a week! o well, forced vacations
-
Eddie's off this week before he starts the new job on Monday - I'm taking off tomorrow. I need a bigger bookcase and no way in Hell am I going anywhere near Ikea on a weekend. :o
-
I work through lunch frequently. I didn't get lunch until 10 PM yesterday. Lunch!
-
I think at that point it ceases to be lunch and you missed out. Unless you mean to say you stayed up an additional six hours, had another meal, and shortly thereafter went to sleep making the prior meal your last meal before checking in-- hence a dinner. Which is kinda what I do now actually.
-
I generally just say "fuck you guys, I'm going to lunch."
-
I made 2 weeks pay on monday, so I was able to powet through it.
-
Well shit, I'd powet through it, too. Fuck a sandwich.
-
I don't know if i'd fuck a sandwich. maybe hot roast beef.
-
Warm tuna?
-
At work we get an hour lunch and two paid 15-minute breaks, the benefits of working for the state. I rarely ever use my breaks though. There is this new guy who transfered here this month who takes all his breaks like clock-work.
-
hey, why not, you're getting paid to not work!
-
I don't like breaks in particular either. Even though I don't get groovy paid-breaks, I've never liked them. I don't have the patience to be at work and not actually work.
Besides, Merla's job doesn't really require that much of a break.
-
I'm the same way. When I do get a break at work, I usually just eat and chill and then I clock back in. I can't find anything to fill that time with other than maybe walking to the nearby gas station.
When I worked in an office doing data entry, I took a break every half an hour. It was way too fucking boring of a job to sit still for very long. Plus they had free coffee.
-
I generally make the most of my lunch breaks. I'll either change clothes and run laps around the office building, drive over to the batting cages or something. Just sitting around in a breakroom sucks balls.
-
Ah not unemployed, I just need to stop working for 3 months while my goddamn work permit arrives. My boss is going nuts, she doesn't want me to leave :'(
