During the first half of the week rain chances will be 80%

They've already moved the stage from its traditional site at a park to the three left lanes of the facing major thoroughfare because the ground is too saturated to support it.   That's going to make for some fun exit attempts when it's over.

I'm personally celebrating so many people going out of town and the light traffic, although their leaving on Friday brought out everybody's stupid. "I'm in ur turn lane, ignorin' the green light!"  :whack2:

So who's going to have a fun 4th with appropriate weather?

It finally stopped rain here. We got it for like 5 days straight.

Bah, nothing but a tease.  We got one good day of rain on Thursday.  Then God basically spat on us the past two days.  :-\

We're going to have to cut weepholes in the fence bottom by the low part of our yard - this is ridiculous.  If it weren't for all the amorous toads we had in May, the mosquitos would look like the London Blitz.  :goddammit:

Ooh, amorous toads.  Hawt.  It's thundering and drizzling today.  I'm hoping it doesn't last long, since I'm at the school and would have to make my way back home in this.

We had storms predicted but they missed us.

The night of the 3rd we drove to a park to see fireworks. Before we even got to the park the road there was blocked off by a sheriffs car and they directed us down a narrow dirt road, and told us not to park on the sides of the road. People didn't listen anyway and we found ourselves squeezed between parked cars on both sides with only a foot or two of clearance on both sides. And then my mother thought she couldn't get through and stopped and tried to back up.. with 20 cars squeezed in behind us. What fun. I hope every one of those fuckers got a ticket.

Next day I went to a baseball game. Grandpa said he'd pick me up at 5:30. He was there at 5:30. And then he didn't even bother knocking or letting me know he was there, and he rushed me saying we were running late so I forgot a few things. How are we running late if you said you'd pick me up at a certain time and you were there at that time? That makes no fucking sense. "Hey I'll pick you up at 5:30." "Hey I'm here at 5:30 to pick you up but we're late." Maybe you should have come earlier.

The baseball game was with Lansing's minor league team. Lansing's pretty for a state capitol, it doesn't have the urban sprawl of bigger cities. The mascot of the team (on the merchandise) is a carriage bolt, but for some reason the costume was of a giant gay looking purple dinosaur. Give it up, the purple dino fad died in the late 90s. The city had fireworks in a park a half mile away that started around the 8th inning. The baseball game had it's own fireworks at the end, but the city fireworks were better and continued after the baseball fireworks were done. Lansing won. A close game, tied during most of it, with 2 home runs by the home team, and even an arguement with lots of yelling out in the field. A few balls flew into the stadium (I didn't catch any of them :( ).

When I came home late at night, I noticed the moon was huge and blood red. A blood red moon on the 4th of July. It's a bad sign.

Now back to your regular boring life programming.

A glimpse of blue sky finally. :raiseroof:  The dogs have taken to peeing on the brick walkway because they're tired of getting poked in the pickle by the grass.

Well fuck me - so much for that!  Blinding rain for the past two hours, and it's so dark I'm reflected in my window.  I may be spending the night at the Marriott up the street.  The streets are filling up - why the bloody fuck don't they close the office before we're all stuck here?  :goddammit:

Because they want to get a full days work out of you. If you drown on the way home that really isn't really their concern. But remember this company is like one big family!
