Since I was a child I've always felt that I've been missing out on something. Before I ever read chronicles of narnia I had desperately wanted to escape into a fantasy realm through a magic portal or some such device. This may have been due to the fact that I was scrawny and small when I began in this world (see picture below: Me on right with the leader of the inhumanoids). However, even now, many winters and many lbs of muscle mass later, I still wish I could go through that portal and leave this world behind. It doesn't make any sense though. I've gotten all those girls that I didn't think I was going to get. I should be perfectly content here...but I'm not. If upon reaching an after life I find out that somewhere in the multiverse there is a realm where people are casting magic missle at kobolds and swinging swords at displacer beasts I am going to be extremely pissed off and demand a refund from god or whoever is running things up there.

I see Paris, I see France... :joe: Edit that picture before Doug comes!
As for your problem, short of finding this magical world somewhere in my panty drawer I don't know what to do for you. Try finding true love or achieving world peace.
-
If it's not in the drawer maybe it's in the pair you have on right now.
-
'Is that a portal in your pants or are you just happy to see me?" :raiseeyebrow:
You were a cute kid, IDE. We can't tell now because there's a sword stuck on your face.

The face behind the sword

You're 23? Why you don't look a day over 22!

No, I checked.
-
Maybe you just need more Inhumanoids.
-
We all need more inhumanoids.
That goes without saying really...
and Jem...she's outrageous...truly truly truly outrageous.
-
No one else is the same.
-
You grew up cute as well, IDE! Now stand up straight, young man, and keep that sword off your face. :fingershake:
-
You better do as she says.
-
You need to take a good hard look at your life! Is this how you want to live? Are you happy? If not then you have to change it. I think you need religion. It doesn't have to be organized religion if that isn't your thing, just some form of spirituality for your soul.
-
You better do as she says.
Yeah, or else.... :kinky:

He should go Amish. Chicks did the beard and buggy.

*gulp*

Well I like to think that the gods have favored me in my endeavors thus far. There are signs and omens...take last night for example. The third night of summer semester C (when the freshmen get here). When I first got here (as a freshman) on the 3rd night I took home an 18 yr old girl, now on the 3rd night of my last summer I took home an 18 yr old girl...clearly this is a portent that everything has come full circle and it's time for me to leave.
But seriously religion and spirituality aren't going to fix anything for me. I need kraken and pegasus not jesus and budda. This mundane world sucks. I think that's why I like acting. There is potential to escape the everyday there...maybe that's why I'm ok at it because I so desperately want out.

Sounds like you need "Clash of the Titans."

Old Stop Motion Movies are the best!
Especally ones that destroy entire cities....
-
Those skelatons still creep me out.

Don't we all.
-
I don't. I already have it.

IDE, there's always reinactment groups and renfairs, though the shoddy outfitting of some Texas SCA groups earned them the name "Knights of Nerf" and jokes like " What's the sound of an SCA forge?" *pull piece of duct tape off roll*. If you can get the costuming, you'd make a great fair character. Other than drawing, film production/acting or writing, I can't think of any active way to reach a semblance of that world.
My recommended passive method is reading. In fact, I just downloaded a copy of "The Wood Beyond the World" written by William Morris in 1913, supposedly C.S. Lewis' inspiration for the Wood Between the Worlds in Magician's Nephew. Lots of good obscure works at the Gutenberg Project website for download.
-
That SCA crap is chock full of rednecks for some reason. Besides reinacting something on a small scale doesn't do it for me. I need glory and the adoration of the masses. I can either be in a movie, write a book, or join this mercenary group called black water (it's the closest thing to being a ninja these days from what I can tell).
-
Renfair musicians seem to get most of the mass worship. Some get more - my buddy Bryan met his future wife while performing with The Rogues. She was with a belly dancing troup. Red hair, great cans and abs you could bounce a quarter off of.

So you're saying IDE needs a busty redhead. If she turns out to be Jesus, his problems would be solved.
-
You think jesus is going to come back as a Jew again? Look how well that worked out last time.
-
Besides, Jerry Falwell said the anti-Christ was going to be a Jew. I want to be able to tell the players without a scorecard.

People like what is familiar?

She's pretty good looking for her age. I'd hit it!
-
How kind of you - I think she's pushing 30.
-
looks passed 30 to me but I'd still declare jihad on it.
I think the anti-christ could also hook up the kind of life I'm lookin for. Of course I'd betray her in the end and drive the spear of destiny into her instead of the hot new jesus with succulent jew boobs.
Then I'd make it with jesus while the horn of gabriel sounded in the background and the world as we know it came to an end.

*Steps away from IDE least not to get hit with the Fire and Brimstone. *
-
Too much fair dancing in the blazing sun - it's why I have sunblock in purse and car. But she's got something under the chassis if she could make Bryan settle down. His exploits rival yours, IDE. I'll have to ask if she has a younger sister for you.
-
I just explode into flames if I stand in direct sunlight. It's why I only go out at night.
-
I hiss sometimes when I go outside and it's sunny.
-
I go "BLARGH MINE EYES! IT'S ALL TOO REAL!" Then go about mah business.
-
It's so bright. I can see just fine by moonlight...it doesn't have to be like that.
When I was a kid I got some bad sunburns. Like any kid I loved to go swimming, and again like any kid I couldn't be bothered to put sunblock on. And once I got a sunburn on top of a sunburn. I still have a small honeycomb scar on my back from the worst spot of it.
-
EWWWWWWWWWW!!
-
So your back looked like that?
-
Well a little patch of it about a quater of an inch does. Actually I havn't looked at it awhile it could be mostly healed up now. I use to have a huge scar on my knee where I ripped it open on a bolt, but you can barely see it now, and those two events where close to the same time.
-
Does the knee scar look like a lightning bolt? If so it gives you magical powers.
-
I have never been sunburned. I heard it sucks though.

No it's pretty much a straight line...and I guess it has to powet to keep hair from growing there.
-

It does.
-
Indeed.
-
I was redder than a tomato after last week. I poured enough aloe on me to fill a bathtub.
-
My dad had an amazing scar on his shin that looked like the meteor crater in Arizona. On his first day of summer vacation when he was 13, he took a dare and jumped off the roof of a shed into what he thought would be nice soft meadow grass. No one knew that an anvil was half-buried under the grass. He hit the edge with his shin, broke the bone and peeled back his leg from right under his knee to halfway down his shin. He was out of bed and the cast the day before school started again. :-\
-
An ANVIL!? But the Looney Tunes make those look so hilarious. Still... that hurts me thinking about it.
-
See, if he'd been a cartoon coyote, he'd have just thrown up a placard that says "GOD DAMN IT" and would have shrugged it off not five seconds later.
-
Nah, he would've becoming a little accordian and then have appeared in the next segment with a naked skinny hill between his ears.
-
Second scenario is more likely, In 36 years, I never heard my father utter an expletive any stronger than "nuts!"
-
"He would've becoming". My God. :nurinono:
