Title: First topic on the new board!
Post by: The D on May 17, 2007, 07:20:30 PM
While looking for the music video for Disturbed's Land of Confusion, I stumbled on the original music video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBdUz_IJ4VA), the one by Genesis in 1984. Bizzare to say the least with all those wierd ass puppets. Not even remotely Jim Henson. The puppet in bed in the beginning ( who also wears the Superman outfit) is Regan. There's also a few puppets of other celebs, like Michael Jackson and Cher and Eddie Murphy.

"That's one heck of a nurse!"

The Disturbed video  (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KW8DRSvEoQ) is better. It was made by Todd McFarlane (Spawn, Freak on a Leash video), and shows the world taken over by a nazi government run in the shadows by the monopoly guy.

1. Seen it.

2. This isn't the first new topic.  I've made about three or four topics since installing this forum.

While I can totally empathize with that hooded character (and I'll have to try his finishing move one day if there happens to be a nearby fence or car to jump off of) I still say the original wins because well...I just love Regan puppet and the whole thing reminds me of the 80s and Labyrinth.

Yeah, orginal wins. Just for the sheer creepyness of it. There was a short year and half period in the 80s where I was afraid of puppets and I think that video might have had something to do with it.

Ah, that was from the Invisible Touch album...my brother has the record.  It also had Tonight, Tonight, Tonight; In Too Deep, and, of course, Invisible Touch.  Land of Confusion is my favorite song from it, despite its political overtones.  But I've never seen the video, even though it won an MTV video award.

Yeah, last year was the first time I had ever seen it myself.
