Title: 'tis the season for complaining...
Post by: B E C K on May 04, 2007, 07:25:07 PM
On Chick-fil-A Cares  complaint, I mean, feedback form:

Quote
To whom it may or may not concern,

The hand-spun shake I ordered was terrible.  It was a disgusting, runny mess.  We had to turn around and go back to get a new one.  The girl who made me a new one offered to let me taste it to see if it was to my liking, but then couldn't even be courteous enough to hand me a straw as she rudely pointed behind me and silently told me to get it myself.  She just frowned and looked bothered the rest of the time.  I'M the one that should be bothered, seeing as I paid 2.89 for a crappy shake, had to turn the car around, and go back just to get poor service and another crappy shake.  It didn't even taste that good and they still skimped on the ice cream as it was still runny.  I don't know if that store was being cheap on the ice cream or if that's how they're suppose to be made or what.  If that's the way it's suppose to be made, then good luck selling more of those.

I've gone there in the past and when I ordered a fruit cup, there was little fruit in it.  The pieces were small and it definetely wasn't worth the price we paid for.  I only mentioned the fruit because I've never ordered nor will I ever order these two items again.  I'll go to Jack-in-the-Box for a shake and make my own fruit cup.  If your chicken and lemonade wasn't so delicious, I'd never go back at all.  I'm certainly not returning to that location.

At grocery store feedback form:

Quote
This concerns your [STORE LOCATIONS HERE].  Do you not teach your people to bag properly anymore?

The first time, your bagger was talking to your cashier and my pastry was bagged with a sack of potatoes!  I got them replaced and figured it was a one-time mistake.  Well then bananas and canned foods were bagged together, leaving the bananas bruised.  My bread, tortillas, and eggs were all shoved into one teeny bag, nearly squashing the bread products in the process.  My fruit and meat products were bagged together.  We buy large bottles of water.  At best, four of those fit in a single bag.  Your people insist on putting up to seven in a bag, making the bag tear at the bottom.  Cold and warm products frequently find themselves neighbors in the bag, even when I seperate everything myself on the conveyer belt.  I buy frozen meals and more than once your people insist on cramming up to ten of those things in one bag.  I can't even carry that by the handles.  Everytime I go to your store, I wonder which of your employees is going to crush or tear something today.

Stop being cheap with the bags.  I'm a paying customer, my food deserves to be bagged correctly.  I shouldn't have to re-bag everything once I'm out in the parking lot in order to put it in the car.

I love everything else about your store but your bagging sucks.  And it may help to tell your cashiers and baggers to stop talking to each other when they have customers and pay closer attention to what they're doing, as that has been a problem on a couple of occassions.

Best wishes for your speedy improvement.

I don't do the whole name thing on the internets anymore, Sir Tom.  That's why I posted initials.  Those who know, know and those who don't, don't.  And suck.

And I shouldn't have to bag them myself.  What are those little bitches being paid for?  Their grocery-asses should earn every dollar.

Looks like I've got my third mofo: the San Antonio Express News, or rather whoever's in charge of subscriptions and such down there.  This kid comes knocking on the door to sell us the paper.  I say we already get it.  That should be enough but not for this little brat.

Me:  "What do you want?"
Brat:  "Is your mom or dad home?"
Me:  "WE'RE in charge.  What do you want?"
Brat:  "Would you like to buy the Sunday paper" blah blah blah
Me:  "We get the paper."
Brat:  "Noooo you don't."
Me:  "Yes we do."
Brat:  "Nooo."
Me:  "We get the paper.  We got it this morning."
Brat:  "Noooo.  Only one house gets the paper on this street."
Me:  (defensively) "Are you calling me a liar?  You're saying we don't get it and we get it.  You're calling me liar."
Brat:  ".........."  *smile*  "Noooo..."
Me:  "Yes you are, you're calling me a liar."  (to Merla)  "I can't believe this."

So we go into how long we've been getting it (I don't really know that anyway) and Merla shows him a paper.  Kid motions to his trusty clipboard as infalliable proof.

Me:  "Did it ever occur to you that that thing could be WRONG?"
Brat:  "It's what the guy who throws the paper looks at."
Me:  "People make mistakes."
Merla:  "A woman throws our paper."
Brat:  "Noooooo."

I should've asked him where I could call to speak to a superior.  What a load of ass.  And even though I call him a kid, this isn't like a ten year old or something.  It's a teenager.  I'm old enough to call them kids now.  Whoever's in charge should tell him to move the fuck on instead of debating answers and not bother spinsters on their leisurely Sunday morning.  Our neighbors get papers, too, so it looks like someone's moving in on someone else's territory.

  Well it's fine with me since I like their sandwiches anyway and that 2-something I paid was a rip-off, so they owe me.  I just don't want these things to only be valid at that particular store (since something in their response kinda gave me that feeling).  I'm sure as hell not going to the same lousy one to redeem them.

Projectile Sprog (http://www.planetfeedback.com/index.php?level2=blog_viewpost&topic_id=297310)

Mother was allegedly holding kid's hand and walking slowly, yet somehow he managed to trip over a lobby sign base and gather enough velocity during the short fall from Mom's hand to the floor to slide across the marble floor of the VEGAS CASINO lobby (great place for a 3-year-old), hit his head, and require stitches.   Mom wants ballons, candy and get-well cards from Harrah's and free passes for a replacement vacation.

Door-to-door paper solicitor should have had the clipboard rolled up and shoved into his urethra sideways.

When I complain about service or quality in a restaurant (and I'm more lenient on that than I should be), I don't take vouchers or gift certificates or whatever.  I get up and leave with the intention of never going back.  Applebee's and O'Charley's are the only ones I've felt compelled to do that to so far.
Title: 'tis the season for complaining...
Post by: B E C K on May 07, 2007, 11:30:17 PM
Well the quality of the chicken wasn't the issue, which is why I go there in the first place.  The chicken and lemonade is always good.  It's everything else that needs work.  I'm using the gift cards for chicken and lemonade.  I'm never buying the fruit or the shakes again, nor will I visit that location.  It's out of the way anyway.

Things I have and still boycott due to service issues:
Burger King
Blockbuster Video
Dell

I choked on a piece of plastic in my Sonic blast once.  They offered me a free one and I gave it to Schmoo.  I haven't eaten from there since, but it's not so much "damn them" as it is that I just haven't gone.

Then at a Chinese restaurant here an employee was being all loud and cussing while we were trying to enjoy dinner.  However, I've been there countless times and the food is great and the service is most of the time as well.  I take my food To-Go 95% of the time anyway, so it's not an issue as much.

What happened at Applebee's and O'Charley's, if I may ask?
Title: 'tis the season for complaining...
Post by: Rodent of Unusual Size on May 08, 2007, 12:00:43 AM
I got a nephew who won't eat at Hardee's anymore because he got sick after eating a hamburger there.  It probably had more to do with the fact that he was a day before having the flu.  But every time he thinks of what they taste like, he remembers puking, so I can't say I blame him, and it's not like it's their fault.

I went to Applebee's three times and never found something to eat that was worth a damn...much less $15 plus tips.  What made it intolerable was that the service wasn't so much bad as it was non-existant.  You shouldn't have to sit there thirty minutes needing something until someone in a vest comes anywhere near you.  Three strikes, and they're out.

The local O'Charley's is frequently filthy inside...you can hardly walk the floor without slipping on it.  But the straw that broke the camel's back is when I was there one night with family, and they put us in the little side room, where a server was stacking plates and napkin-rolled utensils ON THE FLOOR.  Also, depending on the time of day, you can't find someone to take your order.  Sad thing is, I like their food...but I won't go back.
Title: 'tis the season for complaining...
Post by: B E C K on May 08, 2007, 12:57:16 AM
EWWWWWWW!  That floor thing seals the deal!  Shit!

Texas Roadhouse seated us by the kitchen where we could hear the servers all talking amongst themselves.  I know it's a "roadhouse" and all, but I couldn't stand the noise either.  And my beans tasted like meat.  So I walked out.  I wasn't the one paying so it wasn't dine and dash, but I haven't been back since.
Title: 'tis the season for complaining...
Post by: Rama on May 08, 2007, 05:05:30 AM

I had a similar experience with pizza when I was very young but I don't remember if I was sick.  But it always reminds me of puke so I don't eat it.

The last time I got something at Hardee's, I kept the wrapper.  I wafted it under his nose the last time he was at my house as a joke, but just the look on his face hurt me.  It was fucking mean and I told him I wouldn't do it again.

Poor guy.  How long had it been between when that happened and when you pulled your prank?

I can take the look and smell of pizza.  I even rape crust and pepperoni from some of them.  I just can't eat the whole thing or have it in front of my face for too long.  Though Merla had this spinach pizza once that looked kinda good.  I've never had Hardee's anything before.  I've passed them before but never stopped at any of them, and we don't have those in San Antonio.

Hardee's used to be the wanna-be McDonalds.  No personality, no variety, nothing that really stood out or was worth noting.  They did step out and start doing KFC-style chicken and stuff, but that didn't really help them out.

At some point, they merged with Carl's Jr.'s parent company, and everything started to change.  Their main thing is the Thickburger line, which are pretty damn good for fast-food fare.

I've always appreciated them, though, even when they were sort of crummy, since they were the only fast food restaurant in my general area for many years.  Sort of the same reason I still go to Walmart.

I'd say loss in revune caused them to close. That could have been from crap food or bad service.I experinced both at both of the locations. One would always close at 7pm despite the fact that the door said they didn't close till 9. The other didn't seem to understand what "No mayo" meant. It once took them three tries to get it right, and this was also the same one where a drunk cook put a gallon of mustard on one of my burgers.

But like DS said...since they started this thickburger thing they are a lot better. They are really good. Remind me of Burgers fixed over a charcoil grill, and their curly fries are to die for. Plus their small soda is the size of everyone else's medium. And they are better in the service dept as well. Only got my order wrong once and they gave me another thing of Curly Fries for free and fixed my order when they did that. They changed for the better.

I appreciate the fact that they tell you up front to be ready for a wait, because it takes longer to fix one of their burgers.  And they don't keep them sitting under a heater waiting for you.

Hardee's has always had good shakes, too.

Ha!  They'd do that at LJS, too.  They did that at least once the week or the week before I was already quitting so I was just like: Fuck you guys, do what you want.  Go do your pot and steal your food.  Management doesn't care and I'm leaving anyway.

Whataburger has good sized drinks, too.  And no heater-burgers either.  I'd rather wait for my burger than get a heat-lamp poc.  Burger King had a huge problem getting my order right and I'd wait forever just to get a fucked-up burger.

I eat only lettuce and tomato on my burgers and sometimes (not just BK, but everywhere at one time or another) it's like the person taking your order is a robot and this violates one of the three laws or some shit.
