Motherfucking cocksucking Fox Executives! I want to find them, CONSUME THEIR CHILDREN IN FRONT OF THEM, AND SHAT OUT THE REMAINS DOWN THEIR THROAT!

...I liked the show.

I tried watching it and ten minutes was all I could take.  I kinda think they pissed people off by showing it on Sunday instead of Animation Domination.

I was attempting to stick with it, but this week's ep had my mind wandering.

Cancellation comes as no surprise. I imagine it was somewhat pricey.

When things get pricey, the story should be better than what we got.  I had to admit the premise was interesting, but that was about it.

And it's on FOX, which is like the Wal-mart of television stations, so I can see why.

I only Watch House on Fox and Sunday Nights. Otherwise I try to avoid Fox as much as possible, and House plays on USA Network.

As luck would have it, Fox is clearest station we get here.  In English and non-religion based, I should say.  I've watched the Simpsons more in the past month than I have in the past eight or so years.

Yes, experience the frustrated, stilted joy of LOST.

There's some other channel here and I have no idea what its deal is, but yesterday it was showing like old school BSG.

Even if Fox's 24 is having a weak season, it's better than most of what appears on the regular broadcast networks.

That does a guy that thinks that LOST is the most overated show since Friends a lot of good. I'd much rather watch the old school BSG.

I know you would.  I agree with you about Lost.  I was interested at first because I thought it wasn't going to last this long.  (I actually thought it was a miniseries at first.)  I only want to see what happens to some of the characters.  Once the ones I care about die, I won't be interested anymore.  Merla quit on it a long time ago and I just tell her what happens.  It still pisses me off that they're talking about having up to five seasons if not more.  I don't think you should ever talk about shows in longer than the first three seasons because the welcome tends to get worn out by then in my opinion.  If they had planned for three, we wouldn't have had that waste of time that was Season 2.  Now the priority won't be to follow the story but stretch it out and try to "keep" us "surprised", which has just made it stale and contrived.  All of these "surprises" have been lame.  I was admittedly mildly surprised by the chick that landed on the island only because I was hoping this wasn't the ep they killed Desmond or Penny.

24 looks so hokey.  I couldn't stomach much of it.  I'm surprised it's so successful, but I haven't like much out of the last decade anyway.

Shows should end. 9 Seasons is the most any 1 Hour drama should after last, and then it has to be a general show that's premise isn't based on a problem that requires a resolution. Somethingt like the X-files, that could be about really anything works better for the long haul. Even then, though, it was pushing it and should have cashed it in with DD wanted to leave the show. It got really stale after that.

It works better if you have Arcs for long run shows. A plotline is brought up and then resolved, and a new one starts. Course if it's a show like SG-1 it's the plotline over and over again just with different names. You know, the DBZ syndrome. But if I ever found myself producing a 1 hour drama. I'd go for one arc a season, and maybe 5-7 seasons at most. I'd also try to figure out how it ended first, and work backwards from that. That way I could make sure that small stuff pointed towards that through out show. That's how I'm writing my books, and it seems to be working pretty good.

I think even 5-7 is a considerable amount of lasting powet that most premises just don't have.

Then there are those where 3-4 doesn't take advantage of it's full potenial. They should just play it by ear. A Show like LOST should have only gone 3-4.

The Chick on the island released a good bomb last week, although I am afraid they won't develop it until next season.

Tonight's should be good, since Locke and Sawyer realize they've been fucked over by the same man.

I think shows with that problem usually don't expend the potential they could in the earlier seasons.  And just to add, I have nothing against stuff spinning off and becoming other shows.  But the same plot and same characters can only go on for so long.  Maybe a little longer in comedies, but welcome gets worn.

All I really have to go on for that is the quick parody of Oz done in Family Guy.
