No, really. I mean, I recycle. I don't litter. I already take public transportation and walk to places. I've planted shit. I had a compost heap in the past and am gonna start another one soon. I've been doing my bit. All I've been hearing from people who've decided to give a damn now is that they don't want to leave a world like this to their children. I mean, fuck everyone else, right, as long as your progeny get to benefit. It's getting annoying to give a shit, when companies do stupid crap like kill the electric car. Even Oprah in all of her Opratic glory had a "green show" with all of these hippies on it where she kept calling Earth a "she". "Use one less napkin". No shit. Here's how most people I know can save the fucking Earth, they can start with their own disgusting yard.
It's always cool how this Earth shit makes a comeback every few years, and people are like "OMGPp2rj1p3j1!! did you know car exhaust pollutes the atmosphere" or "it's getting hotter every year due to teh CFCs" or "animals and trees are, like, dying" or "Al Gore wuzzz rightt did u see his movie cauz movies tell teh truf all teh time!". It's always cool to want to yell at them, "Well where the fuck did you THINK all that shit came from and went, you fucking moron", but nod politely then later rant pointlessly on a message board.

Meh. In ten years Mother Nature's going to wipe us off this planet via weather.
-
Don't forget our time-traveling friend from the future, who has spread his gospel word via teh internets that it'll all be Armageddon anyway by like 2010 or 2015. I forget now. Meh, best be surprised.
-
I sure fucking hope so. I'd much rather be in an epic battle than make a movie about it.
-
Boo, I don't want any epic battle. Go enlist if you want some actual blood.
-
Turner is going to bring Captain Planet back from the dead. GO PLANET!
-
Surely if anyone can save us, he can! And by "he", I mean Ted Turner.
-
Darn tootin! Then after he has saved us..we can all get colorized! Hurray!

That's not epic enough. :(

It was Earth Day yesterday? I guess I celebrated by putting some garbage in my friend's recycle bin.
Ha! Take THAT, planet.
-
I don't care about the well being of this planet. In fact I go out of my way to pollute it. I figure if this planet is ruined we'll have no choice but to start space colonies. These space colonies will eventually spread to planets in other star systems. I'll be reincarnated on some water world before being shipped off to a desert planet where my father has recently acquired mining rights...
-
Just hope you don't get reincarnated into Kevin Costner.
-
He thinks he's a wormrider.
-
Earth Day is accomplishing what it set out to do: engender a generation of pussies who're whiney when it comes to the planet.
When I was a kid, we were worried about glaciers covering the Dakotas. Now they're being told to worry about the Dakotas becoming beachfront property.
-
Once we get space colonies, we're just going to drop them on Earth anyway. What's the point?

Just out of curiosity, what does your faith say about the subject, if anything? We were taught at our church that appreciating the loan of the planet to us by God was called "stewardship". But then, Lutherans are considered wierd anyway. Probably something to do with lutefisk.

I have to add what a lot of you have probably heard about now, just because I find it hilarious.

One square of toilet paper! Maybe if it's 1x1 foot. And now some of you dudes are especially gonna hate me for saying this, but that reeeally won't work during sorceress powet rehabilitation! It's like a fucking slaughter house down there. Fuck the trees, I needs to be clean!

MrBlud said something about that at BONR that was like a trainwreck in my face: "guess that rules out anal sex with Sheryl Crow!"
And I'm all for stewerdship. But stewardship calls for responsible management, not fearmongering among schoolchildren.

Not if he don't mind a Hershey's crumbfest sticking to his doo-dad. :joe:
