Title: Don Imus
Post by: B E C K on Apr 12, 2007, 09:23:49 AM
Who cares?  I didn't even know who he was until a week ago.  Omigod, he used slurs.  Well just don't listen to his show anymore and shut-up.  It sounds easy enough.  Dumb Barak Obama is all "He should be fired".  Shut-up, Obama.  Like you've never uttered anything remotely similar about another group, class, race, whatever in your life.

Imus is an idiot who no one really ever cared about, but because he compared one group of black girls to another group of black girls (Yeah, you don't hear about that do ya?) using slang that EVERYONE uses. Black, white, asian, Indian, and even fucking Eskimos. If he said they were "Rearry good rat praying rasketbar!" and other Asian stereo types, or did so with a dot on his head, no big deal would be made.

Fuck Al Sharpton. My Dad knows what you did a month ago to that girl. He saw it. I KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!!

I am really hating Obama for the simple fact that I really don't know who the fuck he is. I know he has a book and is around the talk shows... but who is he really, and why the fuck should I really care. If he's so damn influential, people should be able to tell me more about him other than "He has energy" or "His views are amazing!".

Alot of people thought Bush had wonderful views and elected (?) him on that.

But Otherwise, Imus is a fucking retard. Go Stern.

I want to know why Pal Jesse or the good Rev don't get into rappers' faces for starting the "ho" and "bitch" thing as popular vernacularisms in the first place.  <_<

No national white guilt to black on black crime. That's why they want it ended. If white people do it, then there's pop. If a black dude does it, he's just being a Nigga.

O.O SNAP! I WENT THERE!

So this is being construed as racism?

I agree with bernie and would like to see Obama square off against 50 cent.

CBS fired him, which means he's now free from his contract and can go to satellite for a few million dollars more.  I'm sure he's hurting from that spanking.

Nicely said: http://eurweb.com/story/eur32802.cfm (http://eurweb.com/story/eur32802.cfm)  One point for the CDC.

Bottom line:
Dude should've never apologized.
Jesse and Al should STFU.
Obama should stop being a vote-pandering pissant like everyone else.

If they-- whoever they may be-- want to keep the foul lyric spouting rappers, fine, but they shouldn't get all pissy-go-angry that it's pentrated popular lexicon.  Too bad, bitches.  You should've listened to Cosby and the wisdom of his sweater.

He was in a 'nightclub' with a client who wants to build a hospital in Queens, and they were conducting a business deal. When he was there, Al Sharpton was too, and my Dad was a little starstruck... until he heard:

"Mister Sharpton! Don't grab my ass! No no no! That is against the rules!"

My dad told me nightclub, but we all know where he was. I hope it was scores, so that way he'll share and let me come along one time.

Black people need to get over Slavery. It's been a hundred years, at least. Get over it.
...And "Nappy-Headed Ho's" is a racial slur? ....Sounds like a general insult to me. Now if he'd have said "Nappy-headed Nigra", that would've been a racial slur.

Well that's one thing I can agree on. I'm so frigging tired of hearing a black person said "oh they didn't want to attend me first cause I'm black!" or "i wasn't allowed in first cause i'm black"! shut up.

I get what you're saying, but just bear in mind that the Civil Rights movement was circa the 60's.  There was a lot of shit back then-- before and onward-- and that leaves plenty of people around right now that lived through and bear the mark of those times.  Not excusing their completely inane over-reaction to a crusty old radio guy, but their issues hardly ended with the abolishment of slavery.

The stupid thing about the Justice Brothers (http://mfile.akamai.com/5020/wma/rushlimb.download.akamai.com/5020/New/justicebrothers.asx) is that they fail to realize that Don Imus is the world's oldest wigger.  The man's not a racist...sometimes I figure he actually wishes that he was born black.

All I gots to say about it is, "nigger, please!"

I think they could have done that whole show with just Mrs.Slocombe, Mr.Humphries, and Captain Peacock and it still would have been just as funny. Those 3 got most of the laughs anyways. Slocombe and Humphries delievering the jokes and Peacock being the straight man....and the only one I might add. HA!

Oprah in all of her ignorant woman glory devoted her show on the sub-topic of bad language and degredation of women used by rappers and hiphop artists, inspired by our good friend Br'er Imus.  I could only stomach about ten minutes but highlights include:

A group of stupid bints (passing themselves off as educated women) calling for censorship.  They say they don't contribute to the problem because they don't buy that sort of material.  1) It's not aimed for them anyway.  2) Their kids and relatives buy it.

One smart hip-hop lovin' cookie who brought up the revolutionary idea that parents should try instilling morals and values themselves instead of relying on dudes wearing baggy clothes and grills to do it for them.  However, she loses points for saying she was "an educator who educates".  FTW.  Oprah rudely and hilariously cuts her off when she speaks too much.

Russell Simmons trying to shove blame elsewhere (much to ire of the cows mentioned above) and staunchly defending the "poets".  Snoop and Eminem are poets like my ass is a poet.  Isn't it enough we call them artists, we also have to call them "poets"?  While I agree their backgrounds need to be taken into consideration, it doesn't work as a defense once you become filthy rich.

When I was in school, "nappy-headed" was somebody who didn't have time to wash their hair that morning.  That's apparently the only thing construed as a racist remark.  "Hoes" is just an urban insult/general female descriptor.

What made it racial?  The Justice Brothers!  The only folks allowed to get away with racist remarks are they!

My aunt was also calling them poets.  I'm like "lady, they ain't poets" and she made some sort of counterpoint of that it was kinda like poetry and I told her that if she applied that sort of logic, then we'd have to call every single lyricist in every genre a goddamn poet.  And then I mentioned something about only having to deal with the obscene popularity of hip-hop until the next fad comes along and she expressed disbelief.  She was alive for disco, she should know better.

If I hear one more person bleat about how every good American needs to send money to patch New Orleans up, no matter how many times the idiots get wiped out because they're rebuilding on a time bomb, because it's where jazz was born, I may have to start running around in a circle screaming to get them off the subject.
