Except it was actually by mistake and not dumb parents who take their kids to those sorts of movies. Let the lawsuit begin!

      HILARIOUS!
My aunt's mother told me she went to mass with her friend's daughters (they are like 10 and 6 respectively) and they were having a little act of Jesus going to the cross, complete with whip and ketchup. She said the girls were freaked out! I thought it was such an awful idea, it's hilarious.
-
Free Money!
-
And how do they know that a naked woman tied to cross giving birth to a mutant wasn't part of The Last Mimzy? From the previews it did look pretty horrific.
-
I'd say it looked bland. I wonder how many people stuck around to watch the correct movie afterwards.
-
I was just thinking, they should profit by making a crossover-- "the Hills Have Mimzy", a killer mutant stuffed bunny attacks people in the desert.
-
And rapes them. Don't forget the raping. That's very import to the "Hills" franchise. It's what the people pay to see.
-
Mimzy would need some help though, since he don't got nothing.
You know, I could probably live with seeing people being eaten, burnt alive, and shit but when it comes to movies like that, the rape is really why I'll never watch them. And women giving birth to mutants. That, too.
-
Hahaha, when I saw Hills 2 the week it came out, there was this ghetto looking guy who brought five little kinds into the theater. Yes, five. It looked like Lil John had started a daycare service.
-
People who take kids to those sorts of movies should have them taken away by default. Like a buzzer goes off somewhere and the usher comes and says "Excuse me, sir, I will be taking these children away from you now. Looks like you'll have to profit for the next tax season by actually getting a job."
-
And the people who let the kids go into that movie. Like the workers. Not that I think they can really do anything about it, but they should be able to.
-
They can't do anything about it. I worked at a theater for awhile and you can tell the parent it might not be appropriate, but if they want to take them in anyway you can't stop them. I saw many a child taken into "My Best Friend's Wedding." while I worked there. Poor bastards.

It was wall-to-wall brats when we went to see "Sin City". And yes, some of them got scared and cried, like when the head went flying. Another one for the "Parenting makes you a better person" file.

That's awesome. I wouldn't have been able to contain myself if some kid was crying because of a decapitation in Sin City.
"Yes! Yess! Never Forget Kid! Never Forget!"

oh shit same here.
good lord, i hate ghetto kids. and people. unless they are polite and well behaved. and not loud.
We just got a temp from manpower at my office. she's SO nice, but she's so fucking loud. i try to ignore it so it won't bother me, but i can't, and, fuck, now i know why some people bring their mp3 players to work.
-
Yeah, I've been bringing headphones to the computer lab because there's lots of people just yammering about. I can't work to that noise.
I don't know what the hell is wrong with parents. I know the bulk of it falls on the ratings system, but it doesn't matter how many things you implement short of having adults-only theaters that would keep kids out. There needs to be more consumer vigilance instead of this reliance that someone else should do the work for you. Now I saw some stuff I shouldn't have seen as a kid-- probably every kid has-- but I thank teh Gawd my mom never took me to that kind of horrific shit when I was little. Whenever I saw R-rated stuff, it was thrillers and action and that sort of thing. Not teh rape and shit like that.

On the realization that there had been little tykes in the room [for the Grindhouse 101 panel], Rodriguez said something to the effect of “If you’re good parents, you covered their eyes.” Ain’t It Cool News’ Harry Knowles, the other panel speaker, then asserted that if your parents are “awesome,” they let you watch. After all, Harry’d grown up on gory, sexy grindhouse, and hey, he still became an Eagle Scout (as if with that, he settled the decades-long media effects debate that’s been raging among communication theorists).
Fuck Harry Knowles. What Rodriguez should've said was "It you were good parents, you wouldn't have brought them here." But of course that would require balls.
-
I'm surprised he didn't. Rodriguez is usually pretty bold in his moves. He must be afraid of the Weinsteins will smite him with bagels if he does so.
Still can't beleive "Are we done yet?" beat Grindhouse in the box office.
-
I still can't believe the whole process that someone paid to make it and other people paid to watch it.
-
If I were ever to open a business, it would be an adult-only theater and each theater would have copper-wire coiling in the ceiling so that no cell phone would even attempt to work. Also, I would not sell tickets after the movie had already started, so no asshole would be walking infront of you, trying to find seats, making you miss important shit.
Also, there would be space behind the last row of seats for a couple ushers to stand. If anyone was being overly disruptive, they would be thrown out.
-
Would it show NC-17?

It's a niche film. You have to appreciate what they were trying to achieve with it. May not have been the best movie for a wide release and something that would have been better suited for an indie market, or DTV. Course then you couldn't have afforded all the big name stars the movie had, but I think it would have been better received.
There was talk of a Grindhouse 2, but I doubt that'll happen now.

I always wanted to open a drive-in. Then stuff like Cell-Phones and people looking for seats would be a non-issue.
-
Stereo usage would become one though. And those noisy cars with the hydraulics.

I guess you were a big fan of "Are We There Yet?" I wasn't referring to Grindhouse, just so you know.
-
Yeah, but if you make it to where you have to use your radio to hear the movie...that'll cut out of most radio play. That and hiring a very large scary guy to go around and tell people to not disturb those around them.
-
So tell me more about this niche market for "Are We Done Yet?"
-
White people that don't think Ice Cube is scary anymore.
-
Ice-T was always the scarier one. He came out in "Tank Girl" for Pete's sake.
-
I actually wanted to see that when it came out. Course I wanted to see any comic book movie at the time. That's how I can proudly claim that i saw Judge Dredd in the theater.
-
I saw "Tank Girl" in the theater and then I saw "Major Payne" with Damon Wayans on the same day. I've actually seen Tank Girl multiple times, but the point stands.
-
Wow. You're a very brave person. I've only seen Tank girl once from begining to end. Caught bits and pieces of it here and there, but only sat through the whole thing once.
I only got to see two movies back to back like that once when I was younger and it was Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, and The Rocketeer.
-
I remember one other time I saw movies back to back. I'm almost certain one was Not Without My Daughter with Sally Field but I can't even imagine what the other one was.
-
I always assumed Not Without My Daughter was a Lifetime movie because of how often they use to play. I never even knew it got a wide release.
-
Haha that sounds like a pr0n movie title
-
No, it doesn't. :P
-
"Wide Release" does though.
-
"Are We Done Yet?"
