Yahoo's preview sucked.  It buffered like shit and I'm using the school's connection.  The copy at the Disney site played much much better.  http://disney.go.com/disneypictures/pirates/atworldsend/ (http://disney.go.com/disneypictures/pirates/atworldsend/)  I don't see the clip sample on the Disney site, but I won't even attempt it.

No I don't, that's you.  Get away from my window.

I'll press my nude torso up against your window if I feel like it. Then I'll rub it all around, and make an obscene sound.

Fine then.  If the neighbor's pitbull gets you, it's not my fault.

Not if I get him first.

He will be the Leonidas to my Xerxes. Perhaps he'll tear off a piece of my face first, but ultimately he will meet his demise.

Just keep it quiet.  I'll be trying to sleep.

'Kay.

The trailer really got me worked up into a frothy lather, but then the clip reminded me that while Pirates features some excellent action sequences, it's also saddled with a lot of crap jokes that belong nowhere but the cutting room floor.

Unless someone pays for my ticket and there's nothing better showing, I'm just gonna Netflix this whenever it comes out.  Like when I saw the second one, there was a lot of skippable crap in it so I just skipped through it.  These would be four star movies if they would just leave the filler shit behind.  At least that stupid ending for the first film was negated by the second one.

I'll buy you a ticket for your birthday. Do you accept PayPal?
Title: GODDAMN
Post by: B E C K on Mar 27, 2007, 02:37:14 AM
All I remember about Paypal was that it wanted my bank account info and a driver's license.
Title: GODDAMN
Post by: Rama on Mar 27, 2007, 02:38:43 AM
Is that since Ebay bought them? I had to give them my bank account info,  but I've never had to give them my DL number or the like.

No, it was before eBay.

Post by: joe on Mar 27, 2007, 02:47:58 AM
Weird. I don't remember them asking me for that stuff.

So Paypal's no good. Huh. I'll have to think of something else.

Remember that American movie tickets cost twenty of your Canadian roubles.

Post by: joe on Mar 27, 2007, 03:02:11 AM
Hahaha. Actually, the exchange rate is pretty sweet right now. I'd only be out a couple roubles.

Speaking of movies, has anyone seen TMNT?  And I only abreviate for lazy internets purposes, I would never actually call them that.  :/

They say ADD causes bad judgement.

Post by: Wickedly Yours E on Mar 29, 2007, 07:34:28 AM
That's a misnomer. ADD Impairs judgment and one's attention span, thus making it more LIKELY to make bad decisions.

First the main bad/good guy looked like he stepped right out of world of warcraft.

2nd, april shouldn't be a ninja.

It jumps right into some crazy fantasy plot involving ancient immortal warriors and portals to other dimensions.  It also takes place in canon after the 3rd movie because shredder is already dead.  Who is their target audience? Did the later turtle cartoons depict the death of shredder? Kids today haven't seen the original turtles movies.  I saw them when I was a kid.  If they wanted to make a turtles 4 animated movie they should've made it based on the ultra violent comic.

Well if the kids are keeping up with the current cartoon, yes they know the Shredder's gone.  They also know April does some martial arts.

Counting the first movie and both series, that's already three times their origin's been told.  An ultra violent origin story would be cool, but as long as it's still a viable franchise for kids as well as a currently running TV show, I wouldn't count on it.  I haven't seen this new movie yet and the only thing that gets me is that the plot of the movie sounds kinda lame.  Anytime I hear the words "ancient warriors" together I have to heave a giant sigh.
