Tony Jay :'(
-
Fuck a Frollo. He got on my shit list advocating what has grown into the gross overuse of celebrity voice overs.
Shoot, I remember when "older Disney songs" just referred to anything made before "the Jungle Book".
-
Some day my prince will come...
I don't think Disney even makes musicals anymore, except for those lame sequels, which don't count.
-
I don't think you can count Tony Jay as a celebrity. You don't get much fame being a voice actor or playing Lex Luthor's butler.
-
The last Disney movie I ENJOYED on viewing was "The Emperor's New Groove". I liked Kronk in that....
-
I don't think you can count Tony Jay as a celebrity.
You can count him as being wholly unable to sing. How the hell do you give a character who was probably in a choir at some point a one-octave vocal range? And it's not even a good one. It's like some kid from an emo band trying to sing opera.
-
I still want to fuck Krista from ferngully.
-
Dude, that's not even Disney that's Fox. For shame. I saw that movie just a month or so ago and man does it ever suck. The beginning is okay but Batty's song was like the peak of that film. Then it's all downhill from there.
I never said Tony Jay was a celebrity. I said he advocated the use of celebrity voice-overs.
-

But Bob the Goon is pulling down six figures!

Are you expecting a vast range from a voice so baritone? When your voice is that deep you're limited.
I mean, Christopher Lee could have done it better, but the song was good regardless.
-
I always wanted to hear Tony Jay sing "Be My Guest". He would've made that shit sinister.
-
Are you expecting a vast range from a voice so baritone?
I think he was expecting the range from the character of Frollo to not be so limited.
-
If anything, blame Disney. Practically everybody else in the movie had a seperate actor for the singing roles.
Tony is awesome though!
-
I don't see why they don't hire people who can sing. If a certain actor can't sing for a singing role, then they're not right for the part.
-
I stopped caring about disney after the Lion King, really. Lilo and Stich, however, will always hold a place in my heart.
-
Are you expecting a vast range from a voice so baritone?
I think he was expecting
;_;

Ack! My bad! Me sorry! :(
Anyway, let's see here... stolen from another site and not including Pixar or Studio Ghibli or anything like that:
1. Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs -- A classic.
2. Pinocchio -- Same deal except I care about it less.
3. Fantasia -- Music!
4. Dumbo -- Drunkedness and racial stereotypes? What's there not to love?
5. Bambi -- Thumbs up.
6. Saludos Amigos -- Never seen it.
7. The Three Caballeros -- I think I saw it but I don't remember it.
8. Make Mine Music -- Never seen it.
9. Fun And Fancy Free -- Never seen it.
10. Melody Time -- Never seen it.
11. The Adventures Of Ichabod And Mr. Toad -- Never seen it.
12. Cinderella -- The whole "waiting for a prince" thing never set right with me, but it's good.
13. Alice In Wonderland -- Thumbs up.
14. Peter Pan -- Thumbs up all though it seems a tad too pedophiliastic for my tastes.
15. Lady And The Tramp -- Thumbs up.
16. Sleeping Beauty -- Thumbs up, but same complaint as Cinderella.
17. 101 Dalmatians -- Thumbs up.
18. The Sword In The Stone -- Thumbs up, moves a little slow though.
19. The Jungle Book -- Thumbs up. Probably among my favorites.
20. The Aristocats -- A reluctant thumbs up. Nostalgia has a soft spot for this movie though the "Everyone Wants to Be A Cat" segment is really the only salvagable thing about it.
21. Robin Hood -- Huge thumbs up despite the blantant reused animation and its common association with furries. Probably my favorite one.
22. The Many Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh -- I hate Winnie the Pooh. I wanted to slit him in two. And Tigger and Roo. (That was almost a haiku.)
23. The Rescuers -- Meh, not terrible. I've only seen it like twice. Never did see the tit.
24. The Fox And The Hound -- Thumbs up. Somewhere in my top five.
25. The Black Cauldron -- YAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWN.
26. The Great Mouse Detective -- Thumbs up, also near the top of my list.
27. Oliver & Company -- Despite the use of Billy Joel and the very awesome "Why Should I Worry", I thought the rest of the movie sagged a bit. Cheech Marin would later return to play the same damn character in the Lion King and possibly Cars.
28. The Little Mermaid -- Thumbs up.
29. The Rescuers Down Under -- I love this movie for whatever reason. I think it might be the first Disney movie I ever owned. Probably 2 or 3 under Robin Hood.
30. Beauty And The Beast -- Thumbs up, also at the top of my list.
31. Aladdin -- Thumbs way up. It's the only Disney movie I ever bought the soundtrack to. And I've seen both cheapquels, too. The series I never got into, but I'd watch it at times.
32. The Lion King -- Thumbs up.
33. Pocahontas -- Pocahontas and John Smith were hot. Shallow but what are you gonna do? Earns laugh points for the Meeko plushie factor.
34. The Hunchback Of Notre Dame -- Liked it.
35. Hercules -- Never saw it. The art completely turned me off. It felt like a rehash somehow. Isn't Megara the one he ends up killing?
36. Mulan -- Liked it. A little too "honor this" and "honor that" though, ho ho.
37. Tarzan -- Saw it. Puked.
38. Fantasia/2000 -- It never fucking came to San Antonio IMAX. From what I heard, it had something to do with our IMAX not giving up "Alamo the Price of Freedom", which has been showing consistently at our IMAX for nearly twenty years now.
39. The Emperor's New Groove -- Merla loved this, but I found it meh. When you break the fourth wall that often, it soon becomes not funny anymore.
40. Atlantis: The Lost Empire -- So much potential, could've been an awesome adventure movie. Instead, it's a turd. It makes Titan A.E. look like a fucking masterpiece.
41. Lilo And Stitch -- Bleh. Hawaii and full-figured chicks, yay. An annoying little girl in a muumuu and her annoying, ugly alien friend, boo.
42. Treasure Planet -- SUCKED.
43. Brother Bear -- Didn't bother.
44. Home On The Range -- Didn't bother.
45. Chicken Little -- That little fag was suppose to be Holly Hunter, not that bitch from Scrubs. I saw like five minutes of it and gagged.
-
1. Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs -- Saw it a long time ago, never bothered for a repeat viewing.
2. Pinocchio -- Liked it.
3. Fantasia -- Loved it.
4. Dumbo -- Definitely liked this. The Pink Elephant's On Parade is awesome.
5. Bambi -- Saw it, too sad for me at the time.
6. Saludos Amigos -- What the HELL is this?
7. The Three Caballeros -- Saw it, thought of it mostly as one of those vacation spot things that explains all the history about a place. Annoyed me.
8. Make Mine Music -- Never Saw it.
9. Fun And Fancy Free -- Never Saw it.
10. Melody Time -- Never Saw it.
11. The Adventures Of Ichabod And Mr. Toad -- I've seen the Ichabod one and I loved it. The Mr. Toad not so much.
-- Note: Wind in the Willows: Should be in here, isn't. Loved that movie.
12. Cinderella -- Never liked it.
14. Peter Pan -- Never liked it much except for the Pirate.
13. Alice In Wonderland -- It was all right.
15. Lady And The Tramp -- Meeeeh it was okay. THe Siamese as evil was racist though!
16. Sleeping Beauty -- Never Saw it.
17. 101 Dalmatians -- God....Mediocre to me.
18. The Sword In The Stone -- It was okay, but Nuri's right. It's a little slow. I loved the Wizard Vs. Witch duel though..."DID I SAY NO PURPLE DRAGONS?!"
19. The Jungle Book -- I liked this one, mostly for Baloo and King Louie.
20. The Aristocats -- Absolute favorite of them all.
21. Robin Hood -- Loved it. I still whistle that tune.
22. The Many Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh -- I used to despise Winnie the Pooh, but I've made my peace with him.
23. The Rescuers -- Meh, not terrible. I've only seen it like twice. Never did see the tit.
24. The Fox And The Hound -- It made me sad.
25. The Black Cauldron -- Never Saw it.
26. The Great Mouse Detective -- LOVED IT.
27. Oliver & Company -- It was all right.
28. The Little Mermaid -- Didn't like it that much.
29. The Rescuers Down Under -- I Actually saw this one before the original, and I liked this one.
30. Beauty And The Beast -- Meh. It was all right.
31. Aladdin -- Seen the sequels, watched the show. Didn't like the second sequel, third sequel was mediocre. The original is the best.
32. The Lion King -- I liked it. We won't go into the "sequels" though.
33. Pocahontas -- It was mediocre to me. Jane Austin as Pocahontas was a good voice choice.
34. The Hunchback Of Notre Dame -- Meh. It was okay.
35. Hercules -- Never saw it.
36. Mulan -- Never Saw it.
37. Tarzan -- Mediocre, I liked the "Trashin' the Camp" song, and the acapella version done with Phil Collins and...GASP...N Sync.
38. Fantasia/2000 -- IIt was all right, but I never liked it as much as the first one.
39. The Emperor's New Groove -- I liked it, mostly because I thought Kronk was hilarious
40. Atlantis: The Lost Empire -- Never Saw it.
41. Lilo And Stitch -- Never Saw it.
42. Treasure Planet -- Never Saw it.
43. Brother Bear -- Never Saw it.
44. Home On The Range -- Never Saw it.
45. Chicken Little -- Never Saw it.
46. Kronk's New Groove -- Never saw it.
-
THe Siamese as evil was racist though!
Who's Jane Austin? Pocahontas was Irene Bedard and Judy Kuhn.
I didn't put Kronk's New Groove since it's a direct-to-video. The only other direct-to-videos I've seen other than the two Aladdin ones are Simba's Pride and An Extremely Goofy movie, which just makes me realize A Goofy Movie isn't on that list. I liked that one, despite my murderous intentions concerning Goofy.
-
N/M, it's not counted as a canon Disney classic like the rest of the list is.
-
Where are Mary Poppins and Song of the South? They're animated!
1. Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs -- I liked it, but I'm still pretty weirded out over the fact that she was like eight when the huntsman tried to kill her, and ten at the oldest when the prince found her. Let her at least hit puberty before you have your naughty way with her!
2. Pinocchio -- Never really liked it. I kept wanting the puppet to catch fire.
3. Fantasia -- Loved it because of the dancing mushrooms.
4. Dumbo -- Never liked it that much.
5. Bambi -- Saw it, though I still don't find it all the remarkable. So his momma dies. He's a deer. It happens.
6. Saludos Amigos -- Never saw it.
7. The Three Caballeros -- Never saw it.
8. Make Mine Music -- Never saw it.
9. Fun And Fancy Free -- Never saw it.
10. Melody Time -- Never saw it.
11. The Adventures Of Ichabod And Mr. Toad -- Never saw it.
12. Cinderella -- I liked the songs when I was little, but I was disappointed by the lack of birds making dresses and stepsiblings cutting up their feet.
14. Peter Pan -- I liked it, but the new Peter an rocked so much that I've forgotten all the details.
13. Alice In Wonderland -- I saw it around the same time as I was watching the series on Disney channel, so I don't remember it that well.
15. Lady And The Tramp -- Only thing I remember is the Siamese cats' song.
16. Sleeping Beauty -- I remember seeing it, but I read the fairy tale so many times I can't remember any details other than the fairy godmothers fighting over the dress.
17. 101 Dalmatians -- Pretty boring, though I did call my brother Dipstick for a a while after I saw it.
18. The Sword In The Stone -- Never saw it. Oo
19. The Jungle Book -- Best damn Disney movie ever.
20. The Aristocats -- I remember seeing it, but that's about it.
21. Robin Hood -- Didn't like the lack of violence.
22. The Many Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh -- Didn't really like Pooh, though my sis was obsessed for a while.
23. The Rescuers -- Never saw it.
24. The Fox And The Hound -- Didn't like it.
25. The Black Cauldron -- Never Saw it.
26. The Great Mouse Detective -- Never saw it.
27. Oliver & Company -- Meh.
28. The Little Mermaid -- I liked it, but my mom bought me a book of Hans Christian Anderson's fairytales after that and I kept asking why she never turned into sea foam. Being a sky fairy for a thousand years is better than being stuck doing embroidery and producing shit factories.
29. The Rescuers Down Under -- Never saw it.
30. Beauty And The Beast -- All I remember from this are Lumiere and that feather duster almost getting it on.
31. Aladdin -- I still love this one, even though I can't help but wonder how a member of Indian royalty was so pale, or why he had only one daughter and no wife.
32. The Lion King -- I loved it so much that I got two copies of it that Christmas.
33. Pocahontas -- Loved it when it came out, but now I think it's kinda retarded. So many girls in my elementary school were Pocahontas for Halloween that year that when I showed up in my costume, I told them I was Sakajawea.
34. The Hunchback Of Notre Dame -- I liked it, mostly because my grandma bought be the Barbie doll and a costume.
35. Hercules -- I liked it, but I was so mesmerized by Meg's hips that I couldn't pay much attention.
36. Mulan -- I liked it a lot at the time, and I still think it's cute, but I fucking hate that Reflection song now.
37. Tarzan -- Eeeh. All I remember is some guy surfing on tree moss and a girl in 1800's-style skivvies.
38. Fantasia/2000 -- Meh. Original was much better.
39. The Emperor's New Groove -- Love.
40. Atlantis: The Lost Empire -- Saw it like once, don't remember much.
41. Lilo And Stitch -- Love.
42. Treasure Planet -- Never Saw it.
43. Brother Bear -- Didn't bother.
44. Home On The Range -- Saw like five minutes and picked something else to watched.
45. Chicken Little -- It made me giggle.
-
or why he had only one daughter and no wife.
Good point. Where was his giant harem? They didn't show Aladdin's harem either.
-
They were Arabian, who practiced Monogamy until the Persian's came into the picture. But then again, there's never a mention that he DIDN'T have concubines.
-
Exactly!
-
or why he had only one daughter and no wife.
Good point. Where was his giant harem? They didn't show Aladdin's harem either.
The infdels came in and killed her. So he put a Jihad on them, and if you don't like that well, he'll put a Jihad on you too.
-
Maybe they wouldn't allow him to return to "Full House" if he had a harem.
-
I have the Little Mermaid and Aladdin (platinum edition for both of them) and now I want, no, i NEED to get Beauty and the Beast. Yesterday I almost went nuts when I was at a mall, got into the Disney store, and they had EVERYTHING except Beauty and the Beast and the Sleeping Beauty. damnit, and they call themselves the disney store.
-
The Disney store sucks ass. At the least the ones here do. They don't even carry a nice supply of Disney movies. Last time I went, they had like nothing. All of them can't be growing mold in the vault. Bitches.
-
All the Disney stores closed up here a few years back. One is a Rue 21 (They havn't bothered to remove the giant Mickey Mouse head from the tile in front of it yet.) And the other become a Hot Topic.
-
Goth Mickey!
-
Eh...he is just poser. He doesn't "get it" like Goofy does.
-
Goofy's as M.R. as Patrick.
Anyway, I happened to pop in Lion King 2 out of sheer boredom, and I completely forgot what a horrible piece of shit it is. It is the shittiest shit that shit ever shat if shit in fact shatted shit.
-
Lion King 2 is a Maggot Shitting Motherfucker.
-
The thing is I don't remember it being that freakin' terrible. I must've still been on meds when I first saw it.
-
So I decided I was going to buy the dvd of Beauty and the Beast. I went on a 1 week hunt for that damn dvd, I went to EVERY freaking store in the Philadelphia and suburbs area, and none of them had it! the fucking disney vault closed on this one. That's when me getting that dvd stopped being a random thought and became a freaking crusade. When I finally found it on ebay, they were selling it for 40 bucks!(or more!) Like hell i was going to pay 40+ bucks for a 1 hour and a half cartoon movie! (not even one season of sex and the city is that expensive).
To make the story short, I went out on friday night, I don't even remember when I went to sleep that night, but I woke up on saturday and found an email in my inbox from ebay, congratulating me for winning an auction for a beauty and the beast dvd.
The lesson here, children, is that ebay and alcohol don't mix well.
-
You can still get mine for $60. Just let me know when you're drunk again.
-
you have one? are you SERIOUS?
if the one i got isn't the real disney movie, i'll buy yours.
-
I'm not spending anything over 249.99 for the Wii, those fucks on eBay can play flying fuck me in the asshole for it.
-
Is ebay the only place you can find one?
-
I can't figure out why anyone needs a Wii at this point. By the time there are enough good games to make it a worthwhile purchase, there'll be plenty of consoles available.
Hold your horses.
-
I'm still fine with my PS1 and my SNES. All I need is a replacement box. One day I will finish U.N. Squadron. Maybe.
-
Do you really still use them?
-
Not the SNES since we moved here because like I said we need that little powet box, but yes we do. Since we play stuff sporadically, it doesn't necessarily get old. Last year I played Lunar for the first time even though I had owned the game for years.
-
Youse guys moved? When was this?
-
Back in 2005. So it'll be time to pull the SNES back out of my closet soon.
-
You were in Texas, right? Where are you now?
-
Texas.
-
Alright. I thought I heard mention of Arizona at one point, but that was obviously something else.
-
Ew, that was Doug.
-
Yeah, that was it. I thought you and he had moved in together. Got my wires crossed, I guess.
-
She isn't Doug's type...she is of age.
-
So he was really like that, was he? Creepy stuff.
-
I'm way too old for Doug. Merla thinks he went to prison and that's why we haven't seen him around.
-
The universe has a way of balancing itself out.
-
Yeah...maybe he is the bitch of a guy twice his age now.
-
Big black con in the motherfuckin' house
With a fat dick for Doug's motherfuckin' mouth
-
That is not Rammsteinlicious at all.
-
FUCK A FROLLO. :finger:
Hopefully Max will return soon and come to accept this harsh fact of life.
