Title: My grandmother died
Post by: IDE on Oct 25, 2006, 01:09:36 PM
I know some of you may have been laboring under the misconception that I was created in a lab, but I assure you it is not so.

I'm still in the denial phase right now.

I only got one left...but he is such a jaded bitter old man that he may as well be dead.

You may not be that lucky.

Given my options, I don't think the word "Lucky" can really be  applied  to either.

You never know.  In one option, you might end up holding a rabbit's left foot.

Until the Rabbit's family comes for revenge in the night.

I suppose I'm lucky, I've only had one grandparent die so far and that was my maternal grandmother who died of brain cancer when I was 5 or so.

Her husband, my grandfather, isn't looking to great, though.  The last time I saw him it suddenly occured to me that he was old and frail and it hit me like a ton of bricks knowing that in the near future he won't be here anymore.

In summery: I can only imagine what you're going through and offer my sympathies.

Yeah, I can't imagine what you're going through either, IDE.  Or E or anyone who's lost a grandparent.  Despite two of them dying in the last ten years, I don't have a close relationship to any of my grandparents.  I'm more affected by how my mom felt about losing her dad (or in my dad's case of losing his mom, offended).

Sorry to hear that, IDE.  :(  Mine went in the 90's (and in their 90's as well) and I still miss them.
