Title: Anyone see TMNT: Fast Forward?
Post by: B E C K on Jul 31, 2006, 12:41:52 AM
I don't get why they bothered.  I also don't get that when they did bother, they decided to change the themesong.  Wouldn't it have been easier to keep the same song and put new animation to it?

When did it come on? Do they meantion what happened to the Turtles after they got transported to that other world with all of the Shredders?

I... I liked the first theme song more.

EDIT: Wow now this is interesting:

Especially Shredder at the end.

I watched about the first half of it. Wasn't too impressed.

Wow. They could get a year's worth of new toys out of the intro alone. Nice work.

The kid bothers me.  I was under the impression that Cody Jones was in his late teens/early 20s.

This past Saturday morning around 9 central time.  It's part of a sneak preview that resumes the next two weeks (showing us the first three eps) and will then repeat in September for the start of its regular season.

The Tribunal story will be resumed direct-to-DVD.  As to when, I have no clue.

Someone in the FF thread over at Toonzone called him "Chris Thorndyke II".  Ha!

I just can't get into that show no matter how hard I try.  Dik Dik Van Dik.  Best name ever.

I just can't believe the turtles weren't more pissed off about being stolen from their original time.  Raph should've been wailing on that poor kid.  The laugh of the episode was when we learned Casey Jones kept a journal.  He never struck me as the journal type.

I will never give up!  At least they look basically the same and they didn't make them anorexic like the new Biker Mice.  Or give one of them a fucking bright green motorcyle.

Step 2: Do a new version of the crappy silly extreme cartoon that is still crappy and silly

Step 3: Profit; piss off fans of previous crappy silly extreme cartoon.

Chris Thorndyke?  Should'nt he have said "Pierce Thorndyke" instead?
Title: Anyone see TMNT: Fast Forward?
Post by: B E C K on Aug 02, 2006, 06:25:45 PM
Dammit, Merla.  Pierce Thorndyke the III was the poofy haired guy channeling a weaker James Spader and his popped up collar from Pretty in the Pink in "the Beverly Hills Teens".  Chris Thorndyke was the rich annoying kid that befriended that blue rat Sonic in "Sonic X".

lol Rampy.  It's mutherfucking EXTREEEEEEEEEME!  I can't believe Loonatics didn't get the ax yet.

E, nigga, whatchu talkin' about?  Oban Star Racers is pretty damn decent.  Do you not get ABC Family?  The Venture Bros., is up there, too.  (Despite the obvious being in a different target audience thing, it's still a toon.)  Avatar the Last Airbender is good, if irregular like an old person.  Sure, there's a ton ton ton of shit, but it's like California during the 1850's or a McDonald's Happy Meal.  You gotta sift through the crap to find the nugget.

Anyway, has anyone seen anything on the new Fantastic Four series?  Is that gonna be a piece of crap?

BTW, on the Biker Mice series, I've seen a few clips and it doesn't look terrible, it just looks inferior the old series and a little bland.  I guess how inferior will remain to be seen.  May be a moot point since it doesn't even have an American distributer yet...

Post by: joe on Aug 03, 2006, 04:56:34 AM
You've seen those clips, eh? Good ol' Clancy Brown's really flexing his vocal chords on this project. Pffft.

The intro isn't half bad, though.

That Oban thing looks like pod racing from Episode I... spew! Time to download.

Ha ha!  Good one, goes with his generic character.  But yeah, I saw the ones on You Tube and the preview that's supposedly the first seven minutes of the first episode, creatively titled "The Adventure Begins".  It was nice to see the three leads interacting again like twelve years hadn't even passed their asses by.

And never compare Oban to Episode 1 again.  EVER.  I'll cry.

I love the Venture Bros. I just can't get enough of it. I havn't bought the boxset yet, but I look it over every time I'm in the DVD section. Only a matter of time before I cave on that one. And I've worked on my "Monarch" voice so much that people are requesting me to do it now. I guess it's pretty close, I've never actually taped it and listened to me doing it.

Yeah, man. How easy would that be? It should already be uploaded as far as I'm concerned. And post a pic of yourself in costume while you're at it.

Ugh, that Molly Pod Racer thing is not my cup of tea.

Was it the lack of the noses?  Because I found that really disturbing when I first watched the show.  Anyway, once they pull Jetix from ABC Family, I probably won't get to see it anymore.

I actually thought that it would be cool to  make a costume and go as him for Halloween. But I had two problems. 1. I have no where to go on Halloween to show it off, and 2. I have yet to find anyone willing to go as Dr. Girlfriend.

Wow, this comic here sums up my main beef with the modern TMNT cartoon (which I would not have had a beef with if I were much younger, but now I cannot enjoy it since I expect my violence darn it!):

See, the old cartoon fixed that by simply having the Foot be Generic robots that could be sliced, diced, stabbed, beaten, and basically all around destroyed in whatever manner! I still remember the first episode of the old cartoon...
"...Clang? Did you say CLANG?"

Yeah, what do you mean "no one to go with"?  Dye a nurse hat pink, slap it on her head.  Black wig and any short pink dress.  BAM.  You, sir, disappoint me.  Extra points if she'll talk with her voice all low and shit.

Dude, it's a kid's show.  Of course they can't go around stabbing people.  I thought they did a decent job of things so far.  Of course FF may change all of that.  Especially since they don't have any of their weapons or anything right now.

Happiness has nothing to do with it.  It's all about the costume.  Get to sewing!

I don't think a Monarch Costume would require sewing.....but it would require a home Vaccum former for stuff like the crown and chest plate.

And I don't know How I'd get those eye brows and beard to stick and and stay on.

Dude, back on FF, after two episodes, I can now say with assurance that this blows.  The turtles and even Splinter were being so disrespectful in Cody's home, those Inuwashu-whatever gunjin freaks were lame, the robot Britoid cop is stupid, I want to slap the chick on the skates, and that devious fat uncle that Leonardo immediately suspected is just plain bleh.  What cracked me up was Merla's comment:  "He's fat in the future?  You're telling me in a hundred years, no one's found a CURE for that!?"    Maybe it's just a fat suit.  The only one I sorta like is Serling, the ever suffering babysitterbot.  Brother is all right.
