Pool party at a friend's house Saturday and our work is closed Monday as well as Tuesday. :)
How's your humidity in SA, Nuri & Merla? It's about 54% here and 62 degrees last night. :blink: In late June. The Apocalypse is around the corner for sure.

I'll probably end up sleeping or finishing my game if I haven't already. I don't know if I get Monday off because my employers are assholes and decided the store should stay open. Since I plan on leaving, I'll probably be pouring around classifieds in the paper and online looking for new work. Or pulling my hair out. Whatever.

The humidity level here in June is usually around 90% which is why it was such a big deal. By August, you practically need scuba gear.

in Lima, humidity goes all the way up to 98-99% on a normal day.

Big party on my dad's side of the family celebrating my grandfather's (July 4th) and aunt's ((July 6th) birthdays. There's certain to be alcohol, cursing, and possibly a fist fight.

Those aren’t really fireworks. They a more then likely Poppers and Champagne Bottles. Neither of which needs to be "Lit" to work and don't produce any fire, sparks, or explosions.

Poopers (also sometimes called "Snaps") just make noise. It's made by the contents of the paper "popper" striking each other and making a small explosion when you throw them. They are completely safe. I use to pop them between my fingers. They won't hurt you.
Champagne Bottles is basicly just confitti under preasure. You pull a sting and it fires out the front. Harmless, unless you like point it right at your eye before pulling the string.
Those things are no where near as dangerous as the Fireworks that are sold at stands. In fact I don't even think they are classifed as Fireworks, which is why places like K-Mart, Target, and Wal-Mart can sell them. You won't find things like bottlerockets, Firecrackers, Sparklers or rockets at those places. Just go by and look at them next time you are there. I bet they are exactly what I told you they are.

My brother has a tupperware bin full of fireworks now stowed underneath the couch... when he comes back in three weeks I think someone will be arrested.

We went out on one of the islands, so dark there but you can see all the stars. His brother lit a few fireworks and it was fine, then he lit the roman candle and flares went everywhere. >.< Scary...

I sorta miss fireworks. I haven't popped them since they were banned here. Ha ha, almost typed out "pooped".
