Title: Derrick and Kary meet the Freshies.
Post by: tomduo on Sep 19, 2004, 12:53:28 PM: Me and Kary are sitting in our class, awaiting the professor to finish the lab experiment. In our group:

- The venezulean soccer kid, decked out in soccer clothes and olympic gear from athens.
- The ghetto ass cuban who was boasting how he stole his lab book from the store, how he drinks every night, and used to smoke everything.
- The decked out Frat boy, who's preaching to all of us about brotherhood and the like.

Needless to say, wierdos. So we are sitting there, and I say to Kary; "She better hurry up, or we'll miss the movie."

Frat dude says: "What movie ya seeing?"

Me: "Ghost in the Shell 2, it's showing this weekend at Sunset (A mall)."

Ghetto Cuban: "I LOVE ANIME, you know what's the best series ever?"

...

Now anyone who's been in this situation knows he is not going to say Cowboy Bebop, or Utena.

...

Frattie: "DRAGON BALL Z!"

Ghetto Cuban: "No, Knights of the Zodiac!"

All three proceeded to prattle on about how each is a great series... for about 45 minutes. Meanwhile, me and Kary bring up Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, and Gundam...

"I didn't like those, they still don't beat Knights of the Zodiac."

i dont think it sucks, i just think its kinda childish, i used to watch saint seiya when i was like 13 .

i still have the same nickname not cause i watch cowboy bebop right now, but i used to watch it years ago too, and i liked the girl, so yeah.

I kinda like Samurai Champloo but I havent watched it since episode 7. Anygody know where I can download subbed episodes of Samuray Champloo? I guess I like anime movies more than the shows. Ninja Scroll, Vampire Hunter D and The Great Alakazam are my favorites.

Ick, it sounds like some of my co-workers made their way to Florida. Why the fuck boast about stealing and then wonder why I don't want you near my purse or using my cash register? Fucking fucktards.

But yeah I found people either worshipped DBZ or would be so japanified that would spout out titles I had never even heard of. Or they would talk about Ninjerk Scroll and the rape scenes. Fuck. I just say I like cartoons now. That's inclusive enough and if they don't like anime they don't automatically get this image of me as a deluded foaming-at-the-mouth otaku.
