Lucas is finally going to release the original unaltered Trilogy on DVD in Sept. Of Course its going to be limited time thing, cause god knows everyone loves the newer ones better and these probably won't sell very well. He's just being the bigger man and putting it out there for the fans...ASS!
-
I'm in such disbelief. I would not believe it if it was anywhere but on the official St*r WarzzZZ website... yet here it is. Amazing. Simplay amazing. I can't wait.
-
Despite my bitchiness towards Lucas, the sell out, I'm pretty happy about this too. And none too soon the Original Trilogy was starting to look like Michael Jackson's face.
-
I will proudly own both.
Honestly I'll prob just make my own cut of the DVD, slicing out the special edition Greedo scene and adding in the original. That, and perhaps returning Boba Fett's voice would be all I would change. I thought I would hate the new Emperor scene, but I really didn't.
-
I may throw out the new discs but I'm really much less upset about the rerelease now that the original is going to be available again. It just doesn't matter how much it's butchered so long as we can just choose not to watch it.
Anyway... does anyone see George's name anywhere on that press release? Hm...
-
I still believe Lucus stole the idea of St*r WarzzZZ from someone. He might have even killed for it.
-
I can't justify owning or buying 4 copies of the same damn movie. I don't know if George Lucas is a marketing genius or a hellspawn sent to earth to bankrupt fanboys.

That was Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
-
For you suckers who paid for the first DVD release, each movie comes with the 2004 special special edition and the original theatrical version.
Just thought I'd rub it in.
-
I agree j00 $u[dohtml]¢[/dohtml]k@$
-
Haha. Yeah. I've got a bid on for the bonus disc from the 2004
set (why are we calling it 2004?) which is at this point the only thing from that that I could ever care to watch.
Wondering how the picture quality will be. George said that there were no good versions of the original movies out there on film which I assume to be crap. Still I will assume there will be little work done to restoring the original movies as all that was put into the new versions which, although I hate them, really look spectacular.

Overall I am not too phased by the 2004 DVD release, except the pinkification of Vader's saber. But the cleanliness made me exasperate.
-
Of the OT, I already own the original versions on VHS, the remastered orginal versions on VHS, the special editions on VHS and the 2004 special special editions on DVD.
Will I buy another set? Of course not.
-
Hayden Christenson's ghost and the Gungan cheering "wesa free" were what really did me in. In retrospect it really doesn't matter though.
-
Ah, yeah, another thing I'd cut out when I'd make my own version of the DVD.
-
"weesa Free"...
Never noticed that, Kodak...
-
I like to imagine it's not Jar Jar but... yeah it's pretty likely it's him.
-
I like to think that Jar-Jar was on Alderaan when it blew up...
-
I don't. I wanna think Vader cruised down to Naboo when the Empire took it over, and personally beheaded him. Then he let the Jawas skulfuck the head. Yeah, that's great.
-
Jar-Jar spent his time after episode 3 teaching the Millenium Flacon's computer how to communicate. He then died one tragic night when Chewy got in the mood for frog legs.
-
Would you really wanna eat him?
-
No...but I'm not Chewy.
-
I like to think that Jar-Jar was on Alderaan when it blew up...
Ha ha!
There's something else for you to save up for Merla. "Limited time." Bah. Just like the damn Disney vault.
-
I HATE the goddamn Disney Vault...
When I finally felt like buying Toy Story 1 & 2 after their initial DVD release, they closed the vault on them...and when they re-released them last year, I no longer gave a shit...
-
They just put out a new trailer for the original Trilogy...

You should be thankful the Disney vault is saving you money.
-
Yeah...I'll drink to that.
-
See. And to think the money for that drink could've gone to such gems as Bambi 2 and Cinderella 912.
-
The only things that bug me are........ the goddamn Greedo-sho0ts-first-and-misses-at-point-blank-range-instead-of-trying-to-collect-on-the-bounty-that-he-was-there-to-get-Han's-head-displaces-itself-looks-unprofessionally-done scene, and three that should have been improved upon that were not, the rancor, the slimy sewer thing, and the frame skip when Luke turns on the saber that once belonged to Anakin. I mean, why spend all this time on stuff no one even noticed before, and not fix stuff that's looked severely dated for well over a decade? :(
-
Because those things were apparently part of Lucas' grand imageomG~~!!!1111
-
Yeah...and good thing he explained why Anakin is young at the end of ROTJ in Revenge just like he said he would, or we'd all be really confused.
-
Yeah, apparently he took up smoking while in the vader suit.
-
And fatness.
-
The darkside is overflowing with carbs.
-
Well, if you think about it Vader had his manhood burnt off via Obi-Wan. Under that cold, black, PTA-mom exterior must have lurked an effeminate slump who spent a good portion of his time shoveling Haggendaz down his feed-hole; in a dark room lit only by the blue glow of 'LOST' re-runs on his television while Cindy Lauper's 'Time After Time' played on a loop in the background...
Right, Nuri?
-
"She Bop" , not Time after Time.
-
No! Bitches don't eat ice cream to 'She Bop'!
-
Eh, what a shame. It'd be more entertaining.
-
Jar-Jar spent his time after episode 3 teaching the Millenium Flacon's computer how to communicate. He then died one tragic night when Chewy got in the mood for frog legs.
Flacon?
You know, I don't care at all about the "who shot first" bit. Not one bit. Not when you have such gems as Boba Fett's voice and the Ghost of Hayden and that fun bit after Greedo where Han walked over Jabba's tail and didn't die instantly.
-
And that timeless scene where you fucked your mom and spent the next day crying about it?
-
They say that a stitch in time saves nine. They say I better stop or I'll go blind.
-
Good move, Rudy...
Good move.
-
Sean Astin Power! Activate!
-
I was referring to Rudy Huxtable, but if you'd rather be an obnoxious little shit who's obsessed with nothing more than advertising an over-rated fooseball team, be my guest.
-
But he saved Mister Frodo's life!
-
Yeah, well Rudy Huxtable grew a moustache and faded into mediocrity!
-
Plus he wasn't in Encino Man.
-
What's with you and Cosbys? This is not a normal obsession like pr0n.
-
I saw a show called "House of Cosbys", it changed my life...
-
And yet we havn't heard anything about Lisa Bonet...when are we going to talk about Lilakoi Moon? I mean really!
-
Lisa Bonet actually had a kid with Lenny Kravitz years ago...
-
Screw Lisa Bonet. He gave her "A Different World". Where was the gratitude?
-
I wouldn't have any, Marissa Tomei ended up snagging the Oscar glory, while she was Lenny Kravitz's cum dumpster.
